I remember doing the same thing for my mum 4 years ago. She was 91 and we all knew her day had come. Someone tried to get me to go home and rest because the time scales are such an unknown quantity but I remember saying that I would stay for however long as this would be the last thing I would ever do for her. I so wished my sister had still been alive and we could have done it together so enjoy having your family around, and lots of hugs on the way,

Sending my best wishes for you from the other side of the world. It's good to hear that you now have extra support from your family. I regret not being able to get to my mother's side for her passing but she wasn't alone and that is a comfort. I'm sure that your mother is aware of your presence.

Look after yourself and eat well - you need to be strong for your mother and the rest of your family. Valerie

*big hugs*

I'm sending much love. While it's difficult, I'm glad you get to be there with your family and have that support for each other and your mother. I did a vigil for my grandmother many years ago, even though it involved flying over 3000 miles to get to her. I'm glad I did.

Love and hugs from me, too. I am so glad you have family that can be together. It helped so much that all us were together when my mom passed. Sending special thoughts for you and your family.

Go for it Sally, cherish her & just touch her. I know it wasn't my fault, I lived abroad, we knew my Mum was going (pancreatic cancer is quite finite) & we always thought my sis would get time to call me. But the day she did, I scrambled immediately & wasn't even at the airport when she phoned again ........
I carried on because I had to. I HAD to see her. But I didn't squeeze her hand before she left.

I do know that she knows I love her, but I missed telling her at the end.

If you have the chance to not miss that then grasp it & just live the moment.

HUGE HUGS xxxx

I don't know how much my mum understood at the end but I'd like to think that the last thing she was aware of me telling her how much I loved her. Goodness this is making me all weepy, sorry
