Thinking of you and your family at this difficult time SallyO. Take care and, as others have said, leave the fasting for another time. You need nutritious food and a few treats to get you through.
God bless.

Just filling you in after your wonderful caring posts: my mother died at 2.30am this morning, on her 93rd birthday. It is a weird feeling, some relief that the past 6 years of dementia and increasing frailty are over and disbelief that this central person in the family has gone. We are all here together and I am grateful for all my blessings.

I'm so sorry you and your family and your mom have had to go through this pain.

I lost my mother and sister the same way and find that I remember them mostly the way they were before dementia struck. I hope that eventually you will experience the same and be able to take pleasure in happy memories.

My sincere thoughts are with you and your family. May your mum rest in peace forever more.

This is a poem I included in the service booklet for my mum 2 years ago.

Those we love don’t go away,
They walk beside us every day,
Unseen, unheard, but always near,
Forever loved, missed and very dear.
Once in the heart they are there to stay
The illusion of loss in time will be gone
Your memory will build an everlasting bond
