You take care as well Manderley. Sounds like she might be in the best place tho. Hopefully they will find out what exactly is wrong. Do they have any specialists in elderley health or medicine?

Wow @rawkaren just wow!!!! That is some dessert

Have been having Hagen Daas salted caramel ice cream, which all on here agree is the best we've discovered so far. But THAT. I would cross continents for that

And that photo also gives @Debs 's photos of the salted caramel slide a run for it's money ...

Well book your ticket for here http://www.ghirardelli.com/locations-ev ... ancisco-ca. I put it on my blog recently with all of the other foodie places we have been trying..... I'm not a big ice cream fan, but this did convert me. :like:

Closer to home, Spurrelis in Amble are going great guns ... I haven't seen a salted caramel there yet, but honeycomb and toffee, which is similar to the hokey pokey I had in NZ as a child ... And they have a wonderful south facing deck right outside the old boatyard ... With a little imagination could be SF ...

OOooo. That looks lovely @silverdarling. Might be a good excuse to go there when I come home for the bank holiday weekend. Right, all this talk of food - I'm off to stock up at the farmers market. :clover:

Mmm that ice cream looks wonderful
Youve reawakened my Ice Cream Monster @rawkaren..it went to sleep after having incredibly disappointing Carte D'or ice cream..always assumed this was a good brand but after trying their salted caramel AND their Eton Mess my Ice Cream Monster grunted and fell into a deep deep slumber....
Awake again now!

Not a huge ice cram fan myself, but, due to the lack of battenburg, had to try something. Salted caramel is a newish notion for me and as rare as hen's teeth in the sandpit. So I do a bit of sampling when I'm in civilisation. Jeanetta's in St Andrew's have the very stuff and it was divine! I was very good and only had a wee scoop in a tub AND restrained myself when another Jeanatta's was espied in Perth. *feels virtuous*
The sundae looks amazing.
On the food subject, the most disappointing thing was a supposed summer fruits meringue dessert proffered in Inverness. Shop bought meringue nest, squirty cream (yuck) half a strawberry and two measly blueberries
Fortunately many, many much better offerings abounded which I strongly stepped up to try. It's a filthy job but someone's got to do it ;)

Bad reading this on a fast day. I've been experimenting making Salted caramel icecream. Not real keen on the first two recipes but have yet another to try (no wonder I can't lose weight at the moment)

In the last few years ice cream has made my teeth so on edge they are putting on their coats and heading for the door smartish. Looks wonderful but beyond a tiny lick I cannot go :0(

Ooh sorry to hear that AB@azureblue but it did make me smile xx
( and sorry this is long and rambly...)
I sometimes find certain things start my teeth dancing but then i use some toothpaste for sensitive teeth and theyre ok again.
however in the interests of cal control,i guess its a good thing if you can only have a tiny bit of ice cream..just reminded me,there was a sweetshop when i was a kid,and if you asked for an ice cream, the man behind the counter used to do a " high scream" ..he never seemed to tire of his little joke
Talking of things dental,i have a feeling a filling has either come out or broken off a bit  There's always something isnt there..my dentist hates me coz i called him Hugh and thats not his name  I can't go to his partner coz she is so thorough she practically climbs into yr mouth...Tells you to put yr hand up if she is hurting..my hand is up and down by the minutes but she takes no notice anyway..maybe i shd find a new practice :?: x
how is that old bug of yrs? You better now? It was quite severe wasnt it, so you may feel run down for a while..take it easy ..tho i know wednesday is pencilled in as pretty busy for you!

Hi honey, I'm sloooooowly mending, thank you kindly, but Wednesday babies are parked with alternative grandparent as OH really no where near up to it and I could only manage a couple of hours yet. It's rubbish innit :0(
Dentists are a strange business these days. My lady I had for years retired to part time privates only so I signed up with a new group nearby. Dentists good and bad come and go, who knows who I'll get nobody knows! Bit like the doctors, except, regardless of pain level, you pay before anything happens. All very customer unfriendly :0(

I've been thinking about my scenic friend quite a lot lately and then come on here to read how poorly you have been @Sue.Q. I hope that you are picking up now Sue.

I feel quite bad because I was thinking about you for selfish reasons - I've been losing a wee bit of weight lately. I've managed to get down to 11st exactly. I've been doing 4:3 and eating the way I normally do which as you know could be better! The only thing that is different is that I have less stress in my life or at least good stress! OH and I are getting on a lot better and I feel more able to deal with him when he is a grumpy old man. I've also got myself a new job which I start when I come back from my holibags. We are off to Ibiza tomorrow for two weeks. I have decided not to make any eating plans other than being mindful.

@CandiceMarie, I saw the giants on the news the other night - they looked amazing!
