Re: CHATTERBOX CANDY!!

@Azureblue So sorry for your grandson.... I used to have night terrors when I was around 10 but it was because my best friend died of a long illness, I think that the right translation is cystic fibrosis, and I was traumatized. Long story short, at the time my parents made me see an hypnotherapist and I learned to deal with my grief and guilt. I guess one key is to find the trigger of his night terrors and deal with it... :rose:

Happy Thursday everyone !!!

Back after some heavy few weeks. Too long to explain but let's say I hope things will keep quiet for a while....

OH is still handsome and a mystery

My diet is kind of crazy these days

And I found a cat in my courtyard (a closed one so no idea how he got here) and I found him a home as I couldn't keep him myself

That's about it. Take care boys (?) and girls !

Thank you Manderley and Wineoclock, he dreamed about an evil owl and a huge cactus that stole him away, waking three times in one night and each time going straight back into the dream after Mum soothed him down. The last time he refused to go back to sleep as he'd had enough so she stayed with him. He generally likes owls and who knows where the cactus came from.
His big brother had a recent dream where he woke screaming, certain someone had broken in through his bedroom window. He is possessed of a vigorous imagination, telling intricate tales of fantasy with his toys.
Poor little lambs, I expect we all go through it and hopefully grow out of it as brains expand with knowledge and time.

Did you try to translate his dream ?

If I believe what I just read, cactus mean changes, he just started school if I understood correctly, could it be related ? He could feel some anxiety even if he doesn't know it and those dreams could be an expression of this anxiety ?

Oooh I wondered that myself Manderley, thanks for affirming it.

In other news, it was our 18th wedding anniversary yesterday so we treated ourselves to a box of dark chocolates last night, post grandchildren. We managed to devour the whole top layer and consequently I am 400g heavier today. Oh well, 'tis but once a year :0)
May try for a 24 hour fast tomorrow, starting at 7pm tonight.

Ever had " one of those days"?
Hoofed off to a ten o clock appt..bus ride and bit of a walk away..to be told no record of my appt,no one available ( and not even an apology). Eventually told that the person i needed was in an" emergency meeting" ....could i come back later.
It was either go home for a short time then make the journey back...or just hang round the area, which i'm doing..sitting in a toby tavern ...luckily has wifi
Afternoon plans of seeing a friend for a cuppa been put back a few hours
Not the end of the world but feel exhausted by it all x x :curse:

Hi Azure--My daughter had night terrors and developed phobias following the death of her father when she was 5 years old. The phobias (afraid of wind, for ex.--"might blow the house down") came a few years later. My present husband and I took her to the school psychologist who met with her and thought that she was intellectualizing the fears resulting from her parent's death.

We tried to provide her with as much love and security as possible and she is now a very happy adult in her mid forties!

Sounds like, as others have said, that he's expressing fears about just starting school. He'll probably soon outgrow it as he adjusts to the new situation. :clover: :clover:

Oh sorry you missed the pics. What were you going to see? I went and saw "Before I Go To Sleep" which is VERY good. If you like thrillers with twists and great acting. You can't go wrong. It is terrific!

Anyway, hope you really do out your feet up tomorrow. It sounds as though you might be overdoing it. As for me, I've managed to do loads of work today, sorting out my new shipment in the garage. I'm amazed I'm still alive!

Anyway, hope you get a great night's sleep tonight!

See you tomorrow on 16:8 day?

Popping in to say "Good-bye" for a couple of weeks. Off to China in the morning. Have to get up at the crack of dawn because of extra security at the airport. Not that it matters as I don't expect to sleep tonight anyway!

@Chook all the best

@Azureblue just thought lots of love. DS had lots of nightmares and often didn't want to sleep alone, I didn't push it being a working mum needing my sleep and he managed to grow through and process. I too remember my childhood nightmares there were often monsters under my bed.

@CandiceMarie don't ya just hate the rudeness, hope your day worked out well at least you found wifi

Little grandson has gone to school dressed as a bee for the Bug Ball today. Happy smiling face so hopefully All Is Well now.

What fog and clinging mist there is today. Setting about the ironing and hoping it clears a bit. Fasting today too, going for a 24 hour again, twice this week, aren't I good :0)
