Hiiii hello out there! Howz everyone doing? Does anyone feel like me, and feel a little bit cut off from their pals here? It must just be a new forum thing but i feel like i' m not fully in contact with everybody somehow..like its foggy or something!
Dnt mean that as a criticism,just it seems an odd foible about sites when they update..takes a while for everything to get comfy and feel normal again.
One thing i do like is the Welcome Back sign at the top of the page! X

Hello everyone !

It takes quite some time to get used to the new forum, I am still learning it right now. If I had a suggestion to make (for the future, not right now, of course) it would be to have the option to change the colour if we want. That yellow is really aggressive and not in a good way.... What, I am difficult ? Of course I am, I am a 40 years old woman, my hormones are running wild right now !

The situation is settling down. It's still a bit difficult for my mother but we are talking about having another one, the same breed, in fact, which could be quite difficult as there are not a lot of them. My dad also have an eye on a dalmatian but I am a bit afraid it's a too big dog for elderly people and how would it deal with their cat ? Things are moving on, it's really positive and really don't mean we have forgotten our boy.

Thank you all for your support during those dark few weeks, you don't know how much it helps me to stay focus and strong

This is a random post not following on from anything.

My son finished his IB exams this week and has finished school.
He had his Leaver's Ball last night and looked wonderful in Black Tie. He had a great time, danced all night, and came home sober and happy.
Today was the Leaver's Day with Church service, lunch and informal speeches.

I found the service very emotional, which I hadn't expected at all - a bad day to wear mascara!
I'm sure this is part of the whole lead up to him going to University in September, which is something I whole heartedly want, but think I'm going to have to practise my 'game face ' for.

I know how you feel@SianS its hard when our babies grow and get ready to fly the nest and we have to paste a big smile on even tho their rites of passage are a bit taxing on our emotions! Funny enough,just been watching Father of the Bride,which is on that very theme! I hated the empty nest feel when my DD went off to Uni,but the good thing is they DO return for vacation, and in time you watch them turn from perhaps rather tricky teenagers into extremely pleasant young adults!x

I don't know about anyone else but i' m a bit scared to log out - in case i can't get back in ...yikes!

What a proud Mum you must be today, congratulations and well done. You will be even prouder and braver when he leaves for University, as they say, Fake it until you Make it!

And yes they do come back as CandiceMarie said into pleasant young adults.

@SianS, you must be so proud. My oldest daughter is doing her first exams at the moment so it won't be long before she is out in the big wide world. With a little help from myself she managed to get her first Saturday job this week, working in the tea room of a bakers shop.

I know what you mean about feeling out of it @CandiceMarie - I can't see any of the pictures on the forum , I'm missing out.

@SianS, yes, as has been said, they grow up into such pleasant young adults--and such pleasant middle-aged people. Being friends with my mid-forties children, early fifties stepdaughters, assorted spouses and grandchildren is a great joy. I like it so much better than when I was the "Mom" rule-enforcer.

Sometimes I have to bite my tongue, never saying "I told you so", or criticizing, or giving unsolicited advice, but that's what it is to be friend, not an enforcer.

It's all to enjoy! fine adults all raised (not that it isn't hard when they have sorrows--we never stop being parents in that respect)

Tried twice to attach his photo on this comment, said it had uploaded but doesn't appear. Oh dear :0(

@azureblue it's not just you. Happened in photo tent, and in decluttering tent, where @Ballerinacouldn't show us her piles (of clothes ...)
And in the fashionista tent, my new frock photo simply disappeared into the ether. So I didn't bother trying to post photos of the new chinos, 2 new cardigans, new blouse or the super new felt danish slippers. So there, you are not alone.

I thought that it was just me who couldn't see any photos! I just get a message saying something- I can't remember what it says! but no photos and some people's avatars are also missing. Never mind, we must just be patient - I'm sure it will all be fine in the end!

Yes have spent loads - not all new - a couple of 'dress agency' buys, which I have convinced myself are worth it cos of the savings ! Now need major declutter when I finally get home next week.
