Hi all, @daydreamer21,@sue.q, @jo05 and @gillymary.

Oh gillymary, that's so tough about your doggie! Who'd have thought it from a wombat - you would have thought it'd just run away, maybe it was protecting babies? My younger son & ex have just adopted the most gorgeous little rescue kelpie cross, and I can imagine how heart-wrenching it would be if she was hurt. And it sounds like a full-time job to look after Maxie! Hope he gets better soon.

Jo, sorry to hear you're battling a bit! I think it would be good to keep fasting even if you're overdoing it on feed days - what's the alternative? Giving up altogether? I also find being busy & rushed so does NOT help my eating patterns - I've been getting to the end of the day and just stuffing myself with whatever's around - so not good. I seem to be too tired and/or lacking in inspiration to cook myself a proper evening meal. That then becomes a vicious circle for me. Bizarrely, I've been fasting quite well, even ADF without any stress whatsoever. I swear if I didn't have to have feed days at all I'd manage better! That sounds a bit crazy! I need to plan a good easy evening meal for myself every night. I think that would help to keep me on-track more. Also exercise just hasn't been happening, apart from dance (which is actually coming along really well) and Pilates - had a bike ride last Friday and realized I hadn't been out for a month. And I so miss it! Time for a re-jig of priorities!! Needless to say I'm not losing weight at the moment, not at all surprising!!

Glad you're getting some Jamie time, Sammy! Lovely to hear you're mostly going well - a weekend isn't going to change things one way or the other, just got to keep on going!

Sue, 10 k walk sounds great, good for you!!

I really haven't been around much, and I'll be frantic in the lead-up to my trip to Poland in under 3 weeks' time. I HATE trying to get organized before going away! At least when you get in the plane, it all stops, you can do no more!

Happy fasting everyone!

Hi to fasting 5 buddies @jools7 @Sue.Q @jo05 & @daydreamer21 glad that the intensive doggie minding is over

Update re Maxie is that he has had his drains out, is allowed out in the yard while we are at home and he is generally glad to be outside on his bed or stretched out in the sun on the grass. Still got wounds but it is looking much better. He is not now in pain nor is he looking and seeming like he is in shock. I have no problem with the wombat jools, as Maxie was in their burrow and the wombat won the altercation. My dog is lucky to be alive and that is only because he is a big strong dog. Our fence is fixed now so he can't leap over it but he is such a Houdini he scans for ways to get out all the time, the blighter.

Sue keep on keeping on this process is not for the faint hearted but I figure you have the strength to get over your current patch. We just have to keep finding ways to stick with it as you know and go forward keeping a balance of all things, feeding our body so it doesn't go into starvation mode, intermittent fasting, exercise to keep mind and body in a good space, keeping good company to have laughter and d and m moments ... That's the forum.

Jools you would expect to find it a bit tough after all you have gone through. Processing the big and important times which are when we as humans have to deal with the sickness and loss of people near and dear. It is such a different space so that when you get back tona busy life and pace it is a bit like 'what the'. You did good I am sure and maybe finding your mojo after you are back from o/s trip might be better timing and less stress. Know what's you mean though about organising everything before you go it can be like stopping a speeding express train by hand just to get off. Plan to have a lovely lead in to your time away. Fasting will wait for you

Jo you are doing just fine. If I reflect it did me good to be absolutely fastidious and follow MM to a tee with 3 small meals, I did not migrate to 16:8 until trying 5:2 and liquid fasting. Liquid fasting means my hunger monster doesn't gnaw at me. But to count the 500 cals was fine too as an example it was egg for breakfast with a skinny soldier of toast from bread of substance. lunch was a big bowl of salad leaves with a lemon and smidgen of oil as dressing measured out and dinner was what was left in calories. I had some very low cal recipes worked out ahead of time. 10 kg weight just melted off me until I plateaued. Anyway just keep pressing on I figure

Sammy enjoy your Easter break

Thanks for your wise words, @gillymary, they certainly help me to gain perspective and be kind to myself. Bless you!

Also, was Maxie actually down the wombat burrow?? Lucky then that it wasn't worse!! I have been tempted on occasion when out x-c skiing in the late afternoon in bad weather, to try taking shelter in one - glad I didn't!!

Yep @jools7 we live on the edge of forest near a river and it is wombat heaven. Not Max's first foray down a burrow but this day rain was torrential when he escaped the yard and took off with our little Jack Russell. So the conditions would have been different with the burrows like drains as he came back covered in mud like dripping chocolate. We hosed him down and found teeth marks like big rodents close together, behind his neck he had been munched. Anyway he is lucky to be alive. Wound healing nicely and he is finally allowed outside most of the day. Fence fixed but he is smart and likes to take off :frown:

Hi Fasting buddies @gillymary@daydreamer21@jools7@Jo05
Hi everyone hope your weekend is going well as you've probably read on the "eating window " tent.
A new week a new plan for me and after almost one year I'm still learning with a shocker I can't believe the mistakes I've made yet again. Carbs!!!
Caroline was advising Debs about going very low carb for a few days to make the body burn fat and I'm joining in with her and i've just completed day one with little to no carbs and after being reassured that I don't have to eat up to the 20grams per day and having an opportunity to do at least 4 days I'm now up for this yes I'm getting a little desperate but while checking out a few items I've had on my chicken salad I then looked at fruit to have in the evening if I needed a snack this is where my shock came in carbs in fruit and I've been having 2or 3 pieces a day!!!
on non fast days now I know why my feet + legs are swollen again kept my bread/rice/pasta/potatoes/cereals all extremely low knew veggies contained carbs but had never actually checked fruits. His stupid have I been?
( answers not needed)
Will report back with the results in a few days whatever they are, otherwise I'm good not done as much walking as last week but have been in the garden for 4 days and my back knows this. :clover: :clover:
PS glad Max is on the mend gillymary and your nursing skills are at least reducing.

Been busy and this is my first chance to reply @Sue.Q all the best with your new plan. Never hurts to shake it up a bit I say and aren't we always learning on here about ourselves as much as new approaches

Hi Fasting Buddies
@gillymary@daydreamer21@jools7 & @Jo05
Hope all you busy people are well, I'm good done a walk today and a few chores.
Thanks for your comments on my earlier post gillymary everyone's been so kind, and yes I'm a totally different person now almost one year on.
I suspect Caroline is going for the double weigh-in this weekend and have dusted off my scales ready I did get on them before my mini trial with Debs so come Friday I will record into my tracker for all to see whatever the results, we've been given good weather for tomorrow so I'm hoping for a day in the garden I need to make good use of the decent weather before my holiday in May, then hopefully a tidy garden to enjoy some summer and a weekly bbq.
I've only one lunchtime meal out this week and will make it a healthy choice to get a true weigh in figure regarding my trial week, anyway nearly bedtime for me.

@sue.q, good luck for your weigh-in on Friday! Fingers crossed the results will be good, but even if not, we can still keep walking!

Hello to all our other busy fivesomers, @Jo05, @daydreamer21 and @gillymary! I am also extremely busy in preparation for my trip in two weeks - I realised yesterday that I don't actually take off until 6.20 in the evening, (bound for Warsaw via Singapore and Zurich), so that gives me a few extra precious hours of preparation time!!

I am fasting today, just sipping a peach & mango tea (no sugar), hope finally to get HIITing later, although I may need the freedom of a bike ride instead (wind in my face - does it everytime!). I tried fasting yesterday, but lasted about 2 hours due to emotional collapse over my project collapse - at least today I can say - never mind! Emotions and project both now resurrected in a new form, all systems go!!

love to everyone!

Been away from the forum more than usual so lovely to come back to same messages  dear @Sue.Q I have my fingers and toes crossed for you for your weighin and also will have my breath held and will be wishing that you get a downward trend. But if not I want you to take it well and be bold and persevere as this second year of yours can be finding what works next. :clover: :clover: :clover:

@jools7 understandable things are hard for you at present. Hope it was a bike ride so you could have the wind in your face to blow away the cobwebs etc. Ooh nearly time to wing it overseas, you lucky duck  don't go filling up those extra hours you found take them to have a nice pace before you go. Happy packing hope you know how to take the bare essential. If not I can give you a list I have saved for just such a trip. What will the weather be where you are going?

@jo05 @daydreamer21 waves hope all is well

Thanks, @gillymary, I'd love your thoughts and your list re packing! Warsaw will be min 3 max 15-20, then of course Singapore will be really hot & humid. So everything from a coat, hats & gloves to cossie! Also having afternoon tea at Raffles x 1, they apparently have a strict dress code - I've looked on their website and even though they have information there, I'm really none the wiser and feeling clueless! I'm not used to dress codes! Any suggestions?? They say no slippers (whatever they are!) and no pool attire (?) and "appropriate" footwear? I will probably spend the whole afternoon being terrified of being thrown out!

Yes come on in @Jo05 Hope its nothing serious keeping you away from the forum and your buddies if its personal+serious the longer you stay away the worse thing will become ( this I know for sure). I've achieved nothing
for 4 months now but fasting is very beneficial healthwise
and the company is good for you.

I feel warm towards you all and miss you as well. The 5:2 isn't happening at the moment. I'm sorry I've not been around, and have not responded to your messages. I've found it very painful that i crashed, but also I'm studying and working and sick. It's all a bit much.
I will promise not to go away but I'm asking myself "will I do 5:2? I have bits of it working. 16:8 now. And then. Half if march and April have derailed I know why. Complex reasons. Anyway I will pop in now and then. I can't tag using mobile, but please know each and everyone on you are important to me in my journey.
Talk soon
Luv Jo

 Hi Fasting Buddies
@gillymary+@daydreamer21+@jools7 +@Jo05 :heart:
What a difference a week can make after the very low carb trial with @Debs I'm happily reporting a massive weightloss and a new low of 96*2kgs!!!!
Plateau busted hopefully that is but its certainly worked for me and I feel fantastic lowest weigh-in before xmas beaten.
Thank-you my buddies for your help and encouragement along the way, just shows there's an answer out there for each and everyone of us, its finding the solution that's hard and my trial saw me giving up sugar which is obviously good and yes must have helped because I was wasting a lot of cabs on crap.
Hopefully I'll make my Easter goal which was my valentines and Christmas goal. Lol
My 2 new tops I've kept on trying on fit lovely today and I couldn't be happier.
My Fastiversary this weekend see's me with a total for the year of 54lbs I'm a very happy bunnie so maybe the Easter bunnie will bring me a nice dark chocolate egg as a reward.
