Go Sue will be interesting to see what you ate. Do agree sugar is so carbhorrific and you upped the exercise too. Well done

Hi buddies @gillymary@daydreamer21@jools7&@Jo05
As I've just posted in the Fastiversary tent its one year today since I did my first fastday, I've come a very long way in that time and the reason for my success is this
fantastic forum
Never before being able to stick with any diet on this planet when the going got tough I got going
( off onto my next binge)
resulting in a complete regain plus a very big bonus. :shock:
My successful trial with Debs kickstarted my weightloss just as @carorees said it could do,
( wished Debs had got similar results)
so maybe my body wouldn't go into fatburning because of my "empty" carbs namely my sugar, my motto now is my carbs now will be an occasional treat mostly weekend coming in the form of Red wine + chocolate.

Excellent you have found a way forward. Chocolate and red wine on weekends sounds like a plan. Congrats @Sue.Q

Dear Sue.Q,
That's so encouraging for me to read. I've stacked on weight in about 4weeks. But now counting cals and carbs and walking. Not doing 5:2 yet but I might get there.
I'm do happy you hung in there and got the support you needed to get past this impasse.
Sending good wishes to my beautiful buddies I hope you're all doing ok.
Warmly
Jo

@Sue.Q @Jo05 @jools7 @daydreamer hello fasting 5 buddies

Had to dig deep to find our thread, heading out the door soon will be busy out there as I live in a Easter holiday destination. Lots of passing through traffic to camping sites. Weather looks lovely for it so hope it holds for our tourist visitors

Have been back into fasting more due to an enforced break. So far so good. Also doing more exercise again though my hip is still bleating. Figure will just have to persist as doing less exercise is not healthy in the long run

Might do a bit of catching up on preserving over the Easter break, lime pickles are on the list. Given some fresh limes yesterday so like to extend their life by bottling them in some way.

Anyway just touching base. Hope everyone in a good space. Good to see your great spirits and results Sue, nice also to see you in the pics at the Melb get together jools. Good to have you back on thread Jo. Hope you are having fun sammy

:bunny: :bunny: Happy Easter fasting buddies :bunny: :bunny:
@gillymary@daydreamer21@Jools7 and @Jo05
Hope you're all enjoying the Easter weekend almost time for you to return Sammy seems ages.
Jools it's getting close for your departure are you ready?
This last week hasn't been as successful as the previous one for me as I've gained 300g but that won't keep me awake at night, time to pull my socks up once again, but been busy in the garden and my walks have reduced by at least some exercise, digging clipping, and general gofer, needs doing so we can enjoy our hard work come our summer (if we get one)
But tomorrow will be our 2nd BBQ of the year looking forward to that and the Belgium chocolate cheesecake
for afters not homemade because Aldi do it far better than I can so why bother. :heart: :heart: :heart:

@jools7 Bon voyage

@Sue.Q enjoy. I just did 4:3 MWF this week and was amazed it was not too difficult. Low carb 5:2 liquid fasts and 1x22:2. The scales are cooperating but I am not yet back to lowest low but tape measure was friendlier. Also back to gym and walking so fingers crossed I can have a nice run for a while. My attitude is different this chapter of 5:2 or 4:3 as am keen to keep on the journey but not fussing just doing systematic application of IF with moderate exercise, no FIT, walking more, adding chia which will probably play havoc as causes fluid retention but I think that if it give me more stamina for me it is healthier as I was often a but worried how I could lose so much fluid.

Here is my current idea to consume some chia some of the time on a feed day

http://madeleineshaw.com/index.php/choc ... a-pudding/

No Easter Eggs for me but have a yummy coconut cream raspberry vanilla chia pudd for dinner tonight after my oxtail casserole which is doing its thing in the slow cooker. Am off to town cheers

Well done @gillymary on doing the 4:3 I found it better for pulling me inline again although 1 + sometimes 2 of the days are usually 18:6 fastdays so need to go with caution on those days, I do think I went bit carb crazy after my trial week because I was out shopping with friends and chose small toasted sandwich with salad very nice especially
as I don't eat much toast but repeated the meal at home with panini+salad yes both OK but for me that type of lunchtime snack does actually create more cravings,
and a downward spiral.
but we do need to get our head in the right place before we can get any success when that's achieved it feels really good and that feelgood factor is motivation alone,
Thanks for the pudding recipe I did take a look yesterday but because it was a mousse type one didn't fancy but now I come to think of it my cheesecake desert for later is bit similar, so have decided to make it in the week need to get the chia seeds
I'm off for a short walk then a little gardening before my evening BBQ.
we do seem to be very low on buddies lately. Lol

Indeed @Sue.Q we are low on buddies, @jools7 is busy getting stuff sorted before going away. Sammy is away and not sure @Jo05 seems to be still working up to 5:2 and sounds very busy, might be due to her uni load. We can keep the home fires burning for now can't we. Actually we will have to just keep each other encouraged, buddy.

I felt a bit out of it while I was doing my 6:1 but now am back on tract it feels much better. As for the chia there are calories in chia about 70 per tablespoon and added to coconut cream and fruit like raspberries it's not too bad but is a feed day treat. I have mine in little parfait glasses so that it is just a tasty morsel but meanwhile is high protein, omega 3, good for intestines (yadda yadda) and gives you energy. I figure in moderation will be ok. Am feeling good for consuming more for a fortnight now in way of dessert. There are many other recipes but like the pudding idea.

Am still trying to low carb but not a purist, low carbs on fast day but feed day relaxed. I tend to hit a wall if I deprive myself of carbs for too long energy wise. Am going to cook FatDog's low carb bread tomorrow and stock up freezer with some favourite soups eg spinach garlic and mushroom soup and the roasted garlic and cauliflower. Have a good day think I will hit the sack soon, lots of fasting makes me tired :sleepy:

Happy Easter and hope the bunny is kind to you :bunny: :bunny: :bunny:

hello, fivesomers, @gillymary, @Sue.Q, @daydreamer21, and @Jo05.

Hope everyone is going okay. Just a short note to say - I'm still here but not for much longer! I have finally finished 12 overdue BASes, with the help of my friend, she and I skyped to keep each other honest, and she is a procrastinator like me, so no shame between us! And I've packed up, using your list, Gilly, although I must say I've packed a few more changes of tops, since I'll be seeing the same people for a week, both in Warsaw and in Singapore - so I need hot and cold stuff! It worked out really well, and I'm still well under 20 kg - Singapore airlines allows 30 kg, but I sure don't want to lug that much stuff around!

So I'm off this afternoon! I hope I get to crash on the plane - me not the plane! I haven't been sleeping well, much too much on my mind! Managing to ADF and HIT, though, amazingly, hope to keep that up OS

love to all! happy journeys everyone!

Hello my dears @jools7@Sue.Q@gillymaryand @Jo05 I hope that you are all keeping well! It feels like forever since I last looked at this forum, I guess the last month or so has been a rather hectic one. Life seems to have settled down again now though. I haven't really read through all the posts to catch up because I was eager to post that I was still alive and kicking lol.

I just got back from Jamie's late on Saturday night, I spent Sunday lounging and trying to sort myself out (went on a major shopping spree in Belfast with all my overtime pay...Wasn't the easiest journey home :lol: ) and then yesterday was my mummy's birthday so I spent the day with family and having a relaxing day.

But now I have come back to earth with a bump and trying to get my head back into fasting and whatnot. I actually managed to fast the first week I was at Jamie's, but then last week when we were over in Northern Ireland I didn't fast but I was very mindful of what I ate and most days I was eating under my 2000 calories, so I created a deficit. We were also very active those days in N.I too, we went for lots of walks and spent little time in the house. It was great. I even managed to reach my Easter target weight last week.....But then of course, I came home and in a matter of 3 days undid all my good work :cry: I have a feeling it's mostly to do with the carbs though. So this week I have decided I am going to be very strict on my carb intake, try to get 3 good fasts in on Tues/Thurs/Sat and hope for the best. I think my new target is I would like to be about 85kg but the time the summer holidays come. That's a good few months away yet so I feel like it's an achievable target.

So, what's new with everyone- I really need to read through all your posts and catch up. I'm only just in from work and I just wanted to let you all know I'm okay :heart:

@daydreamer21Well you were missed, there is even a thread noting you were missing asking if you were ok. Sounds as though you had a lovely time with your darling. Always good. Are you happy with your purchases?

@jools7 must have left for her trip O/S by now. @Sue.Q has been busy but she will fill you in and I have discovered 4/3 and ADF after a bit of a purposeful slow IF patch. So far so good.

Will work be busy or has that settled down post the prep for the accreditation. Welcome back :smile:

Greetings from Singapore, everyone! I wasn't supposed to be stopping here now, but we were 4 hours late out of Melbourne, sitting on the Tarmac the whole time, due to a faulty fuel pump, so we missed our connection to Warsaw via Zurich. Now we're going to London tomorrow! So I'll be closer to some of you for a few hours anyway! Bloody overseas travel is over-rated if you ask me!

Airline food also pretty bad so far, but don't know whether I have the resources to fast - you tend to look forward to the next meal, no matter how brown & non-descript it is! Oh well!

Love to all!
