Brilliant, Annie! Glad you've seen it.

It's back again at 2259 tonight - to the north of you, and of us, actually - but it won't last as long.

We've got loads of cloud cover, ATM, but it may clear away in the next hour.

There's a repeat performance of tonight tomorrow night - although it may be too light for the first one, starting at 2034.
I'll be watching for it again tonight, although you're correct it may be too light, if not then it's looking good for the night of the 18th when it's from 22h26 for us (about the same as last night & that worked really well)

I'm all motivated to look at the sky now - think I'll try for this tonight http://www.spacedex.com/perseids/locati ... france.php
Crisp and bright as can be, ISS just glided serenely above me. Magic!
We're in the middle of England and saw it go over last night. My OH gets email alerts 15 minutes before it appears.
Will be looking out for a good display of shooting stars tonight.
Two brilliant views tonight - the first, which I shared with my granddaughter and her friend, who are staying - went straight overhead and disappeared a few minutes later, somewhere over the Polish/Ukraine border.

The 2nd, even brighter than the first, only got as far as the other side of the channel before it passed into darkness.

Good luck with the shooting stars, Jazzbird I'll have a look around before I go to bed, but the best time to see them is apparently 4am(ish) - so I doubt I'll see any tonight.
Saw the metior shower last night, since I fasted yesterday I was up several times in the night to eliminate all that water I'd drunk  so I took advantage @ 03h00 & since we live in the normandy countryside we have no light pollution - it was stunning :)

Although, spookily, I find the ISS more impressive since it's manmade! Will be watching for that again tonight although it's a little early again @ 21h38 (when it's still very light here), the 18th should be better
Thanks Breadandwine for the interesting links. I have now seen it twice, and it was bang on time.
Hi guys

Got some good news and some bad news for you!

Good news first:

The ISS is back over these sceptred isles for a few weeks; :like:

Now for the bad news!

It's only visible in the early morning. Which will not be bad news for any early risers out there - but I'm afraid my 9.00 start precludes any immediate sighting. :frown:

The way the ISS works is that it gradually gets earlier and earlier - until, hey presto, it's visible in the late evening - which is when I'll start observing it.

So, keep your eye on this page:

http://www.n2yo.com/passes/?s=25544

First sighting on the 13th of this month at 0639 - pretty low in the sky - then even lower on the 14th.

However, on the 15th at 0637, there should be a reasonable view.

Good luck!

B&W

Ps. Those times are from Taunton, Somerset. To get your individual start times, you need to register your location.
Oooh, thank you for that, I was disappointed to see it go last time & didn't know when it would be back. You're a star :)

7h42 on the 15th looks like a good one for us, except that it's not very dark :(
And now it is back again for a period - in the evening this time!

Good sighting on Tuesday at 8.06, but it disappears after leaving England.

However, the sightings just keep improving for the next couple of weeks or so.
Thanks B&W :like:
I registered B&W and it's over Surrey at 8.08pm today - so if this cloud cover disappears I'll be out there looking for it. It's great seeing it - saw it a couple of times last time and hoping I get to see it again over the next couple of days :)
Should do, Suchard, with a bit of luck!

I just watched about 3 minutes of the latest pass - at 1920 tonight - 2/3rds of the way up the sky, sailing over the moon. Very beautiful!

Next decent one - from here - is at 1830 tomorrow - lower down, but should get a good view, clouds permitting, of course!
ooo drat ! Missed it ! The moon is very bright tonight so I am guessing visibility is good !

Tomorrow night, will try again :)

Only seen it once, was outside looking all around, didn't know which way it was coming, feeling a bit of a plank in the car park, then voila ! It appeared :) Didn't know what to look for either !
Happened to look up when I went out to shut the chickens up and spotted what I thought must be the ISS this evening...looks like it was it!
