Has been passing overhead for the past several days - but this series of passes will soon be over.

However, before it disappears for a while, there are two great passes over the south of England - one tonight at 1955, and one tomorrow night at 2041.

All we want is a cloudless sky! Is that too much to ask!

Probably!
I've managed to see it once! It goes so fast though you have to be alert!
Should be a perfect clear night in the midlands tonight so a great opportunity. I use Heavens Above for predictions of ISS and other orbiting stuff, as well as Iridium satellite flashes. ISS is not that fast (about 17,500 mph, a 90 minute orbit) so it appears like a big, bright, silent jet aircraft - very impressive!
I shall be watching the skies tonight.
Thanks for this B&W, will keep our eyes peeled! Got the Google skymap thing on my phone so can use that to find where it should be I think.
I managed to see it once. It's amazing how fast it travels across the sky. I will be out looking tonight (fingers crossed for a clear night)

Also - over the next week or so (until 22nd April) you could be lucky enough to see a meteor shower. I think most sightings will be in the early hours of the morning which I certainly won't be awake to witness.

So eyes skyward everyone!!!
I was fortunate enough to see when SpaceX's first supply rocket caught up to the ISS. SpaceX is only half mile from my house, so they timed the docking to coincide with being directly overhead with SpaceX. It was truly a sight to see. :geek:
Just seen it - thanks b&w, wouldn't have known anything about it without 5:2 forum - how odd is that !!! Very easy to spot - beautiful clear sky here in Surrey - very exciting - I'll look out for it again in future. :like:
Excellent, Suchard! It is a beautiful sight - unfortunately there was just too much cloud for me to see it.

However, it's next pass is also visible from 2131, a bit lower down in the sky. Hope the cloud clears, but it's been with us all afternoon! :frown:
No, it wasn't lower down in the sky, it came directly over our house!

Sailed through one or two wisps of cloud then disappeared over Germany a few minutes later. Brilliant!
Just seen it. but not at the times you suggested in the first post. It was visible for 4 minutes from 21.35 very bright and high in the sky.

My husband and I just stood in the garden in Kent and waved as it went over, he said to me after we came back inside "are we secretly sad?" It was amazingly clear and bright! Quite awesome when you think about it, it as over Austria within a minute!
Ohhh I've never seen it, I would love to though. Does it look like a shooting star?
Saw it last night and tonight, clearish skies at last. Looking up is so great isn't it!
