He does not. He loves chocolate. He doesn't connect the vomiting and diarrhea he experiences afterwards. We have to be so careful about not leaving anything out.

Hi there! I have a cat (see avatar) and 2 ferrets. Kinda feeling low today as one of my ferrets has a lump on his tail, gotta go to the vets tomorrow It feels pretty solid, which probably isn't a good thing.
On a brighter note, my bmi today rounds down to 22 for the first time ever.

We have a smooth collie-my avatar-who is nearly 11 and a lurcher who is nearly 3 and a thief, so we have to be really careful with every thing, including-believe it or not -ornaments! Her latest is to help herself off a cupboard she has already damaged 2 when we forgot to shut the door-I was not amused.
Well the vet thinks it's probably not cancer and it's not infected or bothering him so I'll just keep an eye on it. Could have tried some tests on it but he said it was likely to be difficult because of how solid it is, and very often the tests don't tell you anything useful. Other option was to remove the end of his tail but the risks with the surgery and wound probably arn't worth it as it seems benign.
So thats a relief I guess. Poor lumpy little weasel! I wonder what he thinks of it.

Wonderful topic - great to read about all your pets!
We don't have any pets of our own but we are lucky enough to borrow a beautiful dog now and then. He is actually here this weekend. A very nice mix of islandic sheep dog/border collie/boxer /rottweiler. Very well trained by his owner and a pure joy to hang out with!

Good to know its nothing horrid. I've been wondering how you got on.
We used to have a rascally little ferret called Compo. They are brilliant aren't they? I think vets tend to be wary of operating on tails as the risk of any infection spreading up the spinal cord is quite serious. We had a kitty some years back who came home with her tail badly damaged and I was surprised at how worried the vet was about the risk of infection. It had looked as though it would be reasonably easy to tidy up but she was actually quite poorly for awhile.

Compo! What a great name for a ferret
Good point about the spinal cord, hadn't thought about that.

Hes a beauty!
I am another one with a menagerie!
5 dogs - 3 Weimaraners, 2 of which are longhaired ones, one of which I am hoping is in whelp. Then there is my daughter's Cocker Spaniel, which she mainly ignores, so it is more mine really. Then, planning for my old age, is my little Border Terrier, who is as cute as anything.
I did have small milking flock of goats, but most of them have moved on now - I just have 2 young boys now, who I am afraid are destined for the freezer.
Then I have a motley selection of chickens including an aged Black Rock, some Ixworths, some Maran crosses, and a Light Sussex cockerel who will hopefully be joined by some girls when I get round to it.
I also need to sort out this year's weaners, to provide ham, bacon and sausages for the winter - who was it said we always get back to food?

I am a HUGE animal lover & prefer them to humans most of the time.
I help with several lurcher & greyhound rescues & am a voluntary homechecker for the RSPCA.
I have 3 Lurchers, Ziggy, Loki & Dylan.
2 Cats, Sooty (22 yrs old) & Tiger.
2 Degus, Ronnie & Reggie.
1 Chinchilla, Kinky Mouse
1 Budgie, Bert.
They are my life & could not live without them. Ziggy my rescue Lurcher is very close to me & he knows my moods, if I am on a downer he stays by my side the whole time & they always cheer me up.
What pets do you have?

I am just about to take our lurcher Bracken (3) and smooth collie Merlin(10+) for their daily run. Love lurchers but one at a time. Our is a dreadful thief!
Right now we have a Labrador, tabby cat, 2 cockatiels, 2 Muscovy duck, a pair of small cross breed ducks, and 2 chickens. Not bad going considering hubby isn't an animal person - I laugh to think how many more I'd have if he wasn't around to stop me!
Ooh, thanks Jaine for reviving this topic! I merged your topic into the original one so as to save us oldies from needing to re-post
One of our chickens died this week she was, of course, the best layer and most characterful. Not that old (2 years) but that's the price of being a good layer I think. Down to 4 chooks now but at least I can keep up with the egg supply at the lower production rate!
Did anyone see the Horizon programme about domestic cats last night? It was great! I love the idea of the cats having a time-share in operation where their territories overlap! Plus all the stealing each others food in the dead of night...the cheeky blighters!

Menagerie at our place too with Maxy Rhodesian ridgeback bull mastif cross a big lad who take me for a walk. His partner in crime is Soda a very olde Jack Russell girl spirited and our watchdog.
Cats we got em too x3. marmalade a beautiful looking ginger Tom gentle lap cat always up for a cuddle but he can be mean as he is top cat and same colour as Maxy and weirdly they are great mates. Cat no 2 is Toby black and white longhaired who looks fierce not and is amazingly engaging and interacting. Finally Bella our little female cat who wishes all the boys were gone. The fish pond is very productive with 30 fish now. That's our farm
