What a super sunny Spring day it's been, 17*C and lambs and piglets abounding, snowdrops and daffodils everywhere. Love it :0D
How lovely @Azureblue! On the other side of the world its a lovely autumn morning here in the middle of the Blue Mountains its 17degrees celcius, the sun is shining on the beautiful Lawson valley. I'm listening to all of the bird life as I web surf. About to cook brunch on the BBQ - bacon, egg, mushrooms and a tiny eye fillet steak topped with softened blue Costello cheese. Yum!
I am at Big Sur in California. It is like summer here today. One of those days when you feel grateful for everything.
Here's a little story in a local online news service here--at long last--I actually went out to do a little leisurely shopping/looking instead of just scurrying to an errand as quickly as possible.

The fence boards that you see in one photo are the barriers of a local upgrading project that will take a total of 3 years instead of the promised 2--but I know it will be beautiful and well worth it. Should be done by end of June.

https://ithacacommons.wordpress.com/ We can hardly wait to the place full of strollers and shoppers again.

Yay Spring!!

@marybeth thanks for the links
Loved seeing those photos..am fascinated by America anyway, and its great to see the snow going, and the signs of spring emerging in your part of the world! X
Today's lovely weather and I saw many lovely things - brimstone and peacock butterflies, 9 peacock birds, rabbits, red kites, buzzards, heard a woodpecker and many buzzing bees, a metre long pike sunbathing in the shallows, courting mallards, herons catching frogs. Wonderful!

(And ate a naughty packet of crisps.)

(And a decent slice of grandsons birthday cake!)
Funny you should mention Big Sur. I recently watched a film called Big Sur, a true story about writer Jack Karouac who spent some time there on his own in a shack. Probably THE most pretentious film I've ever seen! The setting looked great though
@nursebean I read the book without knowing what on earth he was going on about as I was a naive teenager! Had some interesting bits that sent me on to explore more :0)
There's an article in the NY Times today about some research concerning "fat talk" Interesting about its being contagious--of course, it's just a few studies, but I think it's probably true, not only about being overweight, but also about other personal characteristics: "I'm so stupid about math (science, literature, politics, everything, etc)" I'm too short (tall, ugly, shy, etc.) --blah blah. It just can't be helpful to tear ourselves down.

I have news...
I'm coming home! Finally, the notice has been handed in, dates set and plans are being made. It's being kept a wee bit quiet at the moment due to professional instability  in the area BUT
I"M COMING HOME
canny wait
You sound so happy@janeg and i' m very pleased for you! X x
Dont forget to pack that wet fish ;0) xx
Thanks @CandiceMarie I'm quietly chuffed.
      :victory: :victory: :victory:
Wonder if the wet fish can come in hand luggage? Think a fw weeks in a container would be quite unpleasant for everyone! The way my fasting is going just now though I need to keep it very much to hand (or about the head for slapping!)
