I have just caught up with this thread. I am so impressed with you! Looking on the bright side, finding the positive in a situation which must be scary and horrible on so many fronts. Holding you in the Light on Monday and beyond. Hugs as well.

First time I've seen this thread. I can't imagine how strong a person you must be to have such an amazingly calm attitude (even if it's just surface deep) about all this. You are amazing!

Take care of yourself. You are clearly a special lady and I wish you all the best.

The book ' 2 day diet' was written by a breast cancer research dietician Michelle Harvie and is mentioned in Dr Moseleys book also- she did work using the diet with breast cancer ladies and the diet gave good results, in terms of reducing breast cancer recurrence and weight loss.
Hope your radiotherapy goes ok, it's only for a few weeks and then you can get back to your life, good luck, Sue

The breast cancer has been a minor inconvenience. The worst thing I have to deal with is my mother's dementia. She has really deteriorated in the last couple of weeks - absolute nightmare. Will have a fight again tomorrow getting her to daycare, well it's not daycare, 4 hours, once a week, but she hates it.

Thank you for all your kind comments & support. And I must reread the book again.

Hi Clairglen,
good luck with your radio therapy. I found that Alone Vera gel kept cold in the fridge was a great relief.I'm glad you don't have to have chemo and won't lose your hair or in my case some of my toe nails.Keep up your spirits.Carmel

I've resumed 5:2 this week after a break for radiotherapy & flu over Christmas & New Year. With weakened immune system I was really poorly and lost weight which means I maintained from when I last did 5:2 so something good came out of it. I'm feeling a lot better now. Tues this week was a breeze but today I've been so hungry so had 2 Nice biscuits mid afternoon but not beating myself up about it as 1yr old grandson ate some of my 150 cal porridge this morning.

Great to hear from you Claire. Hopefully it will all be up and up now (your health not your weight  ). I always find the second fast of the week harder must be especially hard when you have to share your food
