15.6% Wow. I didn't realise. Thanks Penny. At WW they always said how losing even 5-10% would have great health benefits and now I've done even more than that and probably saved WW fees of approximately $15 x 26 weeks = $390. Cha ching $$$$$

Ahh finally people are talking in percentages and not raw numbers. Hallelujha !
referring to this thread of mine 5-2-diet-chat-f6/size-of-target-weight-loss-affects-your-average-monthly-loss-t8454.html mine is a different slant where you talk about % of the weight you want to lose. Similar but different as some people need to lose a bigger % of weight loss
Anyone on opening question its like 3.5% (5 months in)
Back to my "thing"
For those who stated the percentage of start weight lost. was is your targetted weight loss as a percentage - that is what % of start weight are you actually aiming for/
mine is 10.5% - thats how much i want to lose
(So ive lost 33% of my target weight loss)
You see the problem with the thread title is that it suggest a bit of a competition on % lost. If i lost 20% of my start weight id be one sick puppy and theyll be sending me to the ER ward. So my magic number is just around 10% not 20% hence the need to qualify.
(btw i love numbers if you havent noticed)

I don't think it's a competition at all. Obviously some of us have (or had!!) more to lose.
Probably said competition incorrectly.
I meant some people not thinking will be disappointed if they see some people on 20% loss and they are just 3% like me. But actually im right on track so its to say that the % loss as a number need to be treated with caution and if you are at only 2% that might be just fine.
I love the "how far in the scale of 1 to 100 towards your target weight" as the "number" to compare. If you are tracking too slow then maybe one can adjust their eating regime.
But hey yeah well done to anyone just 1/5th of their "selves" now

I am still chuffed from holding the 2 x6kg boxes of cat litter aloft and thinking OMG I carted around this much excess baggage. Now I have to get the calculator out, drat think I was away from school when those equations were perfected. MFP says 9% but I stand to be corrected
I've lost around 8% of my body since starting in early April... 6 months ago! I want to lose 40% (so almost half of me will be gone from where I started from... I'm not sure that's even doable.. but we'll see) that's why I'll be around for a long time!
I'm 20% of the way to my goal!
Here's a little graph to illustrate... I was this whole circle. Now, it's minus the purple part, I hope to also lose that green part

Congrats, Penny! I am somewhere in the middle of 20-25%! I have heard that many health indicators will improve after only 10% reduction. It is an impressive achievement...good job!!
Love the pie chart little Joy!
Hopefully it's not making you think of pie on a fast day!
Yes, my percentage is somewhat big...but I had quite a bit to lose and still have plenty more to go. When I started (20ish months ago) I was almost morbidly obese...but just under the line between morbidly obese and obese. I am now just under the line between obese and overweight. It is awesome to be just overweight and not obese, for sure! But, percentage-wise it is all relevant to where you started and where you are headed.
Yes, this is fun- I've actually had to do some maths, I'm really lazy with numbers.
So I think I've lost 12.5%, very happy- just have a tired brain now.

Penny, we are pretty close in start and goal. I started at 205 with WW in Jan, lost 12, switched to 5:2 in April, have lost 20 more, goal is 165...lost 18.5% WooHoo.
