I've lost almost 8% of my starting weight, and I'm below my target weight. And no-one except my mother has noticed :starving:

Ooooh I love maths! Although am total technophobe so can't do a pie chart.

I have lost 12.3% of my starting weight and my goal is 20.5% Thats well over half way!!

@Tara25 You have my sympathy, no-one has noticed my weight loss either, and I'm at 11%! You wonder how nobody can see it when it's so obvious, but I do remember once noticing one of my friends had 'suddenly' lost alot of weight, only of course it hadn't been sudden...

The moment WILL come, and it will be sweet!

Lost 31.58%
Have 7.69% left to lose so 24.35% of the weight I already lost :geek:

Some great comments here - and aren't we all in one big happy club together?

@Juliana.Rivers, sorry this has been misconstrued. I certainly didn't mean it as a competition; that's not within the spirit of this community.
Had I not grown as plump as I did, I would have had less to lose, maybe 10%.

Like many here, I find it interesting to think in numbers.

My numbers: Down 14% as of today (since March). Goal 18%, so about 3/4 of the way there. SOOO excited.

I love numbers, statistics, math (that's maths to most of you). One pet peeve I have with calorie counters is that there should be a limit to the precision assigned to weight loss, calorie consumption, all these numbers. For example, my calculator says I'm .77777 of the way there, but that's unreasonably precise. "3/4" is all I should really be claiming. Likewise, I'm not actually down 13.75%, since my scale only shows 1/2 pound increments. You have to call it 14%.

And accuracy is overstated too. Just because I used a program to count calories does not mean that I can say "I consumed 498 calories today." Unless you were living in a laboratory (and maybe not even then), you couldn't be that accurate. The real number would be "about 500".

Ok. Done. Sorry to bore most of you.

also @Tara25 and @Annurca, I'm still waiting for people to notice. Husband has (am quite appreciative there, because he's not the most observant guy) and hair stylist has, after I had been losing fairly steadily for 5 months. She also thought it was sudden, though she's seen me every couple of months. I suppose it is fairly sudden in the greater scheme of things.

But what about everyone else? Either people don't actually look at me too closely, or I don't really look much different. :frown:

Yeah, calorie counting is a guesstimation not a perfect science. Honestly, I'd go a bit further and say it is more like + or - 10% maybe even more. So a truer number would be 450-550 for a person who is making a conscious effort. But, if you consider that most people underestimate their calories by what was the statistic 30%?? It would likely be even higher unless scales, measuring cups and level measuring spoons, were used for every single bite.

And even then,@43tweaker, you would have to know the calorie count of the food by gram/ounce/tsp/whatever. The site I've been using as a calorie reference, fat secret (awful name), is really bad. For example, there are multiple entries for half of a small chicken breast, skinless and boneless. They range from 55 to 108 calories. I wonder if my fitness pal is any better.

Some great numbers so far.

I've just asked DH to work it out because I'm rubbish at maths  12.5% since I started 5:2 and 16.8% since I started losing weight (about a month before I started 5:2) :)

I've just recalculated.

I've lost 28% of the weight I want to lose, which has cheered me up no end. As opposed to 17% of my total weight.

In the great scheme of things its pretty good considering I actually wanted to lose exactly half of my then existing body weight. So I'm more than a quarter of the way there.
