I am up for it.
Will start as soon as I come back from Florence and feel ok.
Great challenge though.

Ok, I'm in. Going to start today (fast day) or tomorrow.

I am not as lean as some of you guys/gals (my BMI is 26.5) but I've always wanted to be a competent push-upper!

Let's try a check-in every week or so.....

First attempt just now - tested at 16 so column 3. 10/12/7/7/max=6.5, ie failed to reach required minimum of 9.

I suppose that means having to repeat this session in a couple of days...

Rats!

Shouldn't you have left a day after doing as many as possible ? I am so start week 1 tomorrow.

Yes, I have learned that lesson! I thought the starting set looked OK so did not bother to rest after the initial trial, but it was much harder than I expected... Let's see what tomorrow brings!

Succeeded with day 1.

I'm in!

I managed 15 comfortably on knees but only about 2 full form push ups (lame!), so will do the programme to work up to 100 knee push ups first and then switch.

Love a challenge!

It's very hard at the beginning when you can only do a few. You've got it hardest of all of us. Mind you I've got slightly sore arms after day 1.

got a bit delayed on my start - wanted a rest after digging at the allotment. just did day 1. for some reason, while i am a reasonably strong person, pushups are very hard for me. even after a year of personal training! so i started with column 1. did 4 on my last set so success. will do day 2 on monday.

good job for those of you who have started! you can be flexible on this and repeat weeks if you need to. i would suggest maybe doing the whole week first, and then doing it again if necessary, instead of starting over if you feel it's too much. only because starting over always sucks!

others are welcome to join in, and knees down are always welcome.

by the way, my boxing coach once told me that my nose needs to to touch the ground (without butt sticking up!) to count. :)

Yeah, its just the old core strength and upper body - I have above average levels of fitness and exercise regularly with running, spin classes and military fitness, but never quite managed to crack the push up.

Well NO MORE I say! Its gonna happen!

Just completed Day 1 by the skin of my teeth - but that's good enough I reckon. Day 2 is going to be hard!

Couldn't even do 1 proper full push up but was much easier on knees so may try that!

My nose doesn't touch the ground. A slight miscalculation, especially when near the limit, and it may end up a different shape.

Holy crap...this is a challenge. I may be on Day 1 for some time. I gather that you don't advance until you successfully complete each level? I am completely paranoid that I will screw up my shoulder after years of building it up (was knocked down by one of our runaway horses years ago). Will definitely listen to my body on this one.
