I'm in, goal is getting nearer.
Morning from stormy Scotland. First fast this year and soooooooooo needing it! On annual leave this week so gives me a chance to get back in the swing and get organised for non fast days.
If you're in the midst of the storms keep safe - sounding wild out there. Be an interesting walk to school.
Yes joining you all this morning. Only coffee, water & possibly Bovril until supper tonight.
I'm keeping busy with exercising to my "oldies" Jane Fonda dvd, ironing & doing Latin homework. I hope you all have a good day!
I'm in! It's stormy here in West Wales too @bofa45, but not as bad as you. Stay safe! (We woke up to a power line down in the field behind us on Friday, which had electrocuted two sheep and set part of a hedge on fire!)
I'm so pleased to be going to my writing class this morning because Fast Days go so much better when I am busy! I need to go to the supermarket too, hmm, that's always hard when my tummy is rumbling! I'm only having drinks till this evening.
Good luck everyone :clover:
I'm in and from now I resolve to be good as I have been slipping a bit.

Exactly the same for me

Normally I only have a problem sleeping on fast days but yesterday I over did not only the eating but drinking wine also. I think I have an allergy as I often wake with a sneezing fit and runny nose when I drink wine. Once I was awake my knee was a bit painful (recent knee op) and also I am having to sleep on my back which is alien for me. So now I feel like I have jet lag
So I'm returning today after 1 year during which I've put on one and a half stone! I have never ever weighed as much as I do now, not even when I was pregnant, many years ago. It started as a few pounds which I ignored thinking it would be easy as it has been in the past but now at 45 it's hard and I've just piled it on! I'm officially overweight for the first time in my life and have high cholesterol :frown: I've been on the bbc website and completed the test that accompanies tonight's programme on bbc2 and intermittent fasting is the way for me to go. Sorry for waffling and I suspect this is the wrong place for this post but today is my first fast day 2015!

Good luck everyone
Thanks Sassy1 - I will endeavour!

Oh no SkinnyJeans!
I'm in - I ate out twice over the weekend so definitely looking forward to a cleansing fast day. My stomach is rumbling already though and it's not even 9.30 so this could be a tough day!
Welcome back @Tracy22! :) Although you might feel rather frustrated by your weight gain, at least you are doing something about it now, rather than leaving it until it has crept up even more. And you have the experience of this way of eating to draw upon. Best wishes and good luck! :clover:
Welcome back @Tracy22.
Thank you for your kind words and support
Been for a jog already (before the wind and rain set in) and off to the opticians later. Hoping to be good today and eat later with just a coffee at lunch.
Dashing in to say I'm in too
And dashing back out as I have another call in literally 2 minutes ( spend so much time talking about stuff in my job and no time to do any of it !!)

Didn't do great on sticking to TDEE on a couple of days this week so not hopeful for tomorrows weigh in ...

Good luck all ...keep warm and smiling
Sallyo wrote: My sister lost 14 stone on that diet, but she's put it all back on; she is a fan of sticky date puddings

@Sallyo there's being a fan and whatever that would be. 14 stones? 196lbs? 89kg? I've seen people lose comparable amounts but with 5:2, to have lost and regained seems the more poignant, somehow. [ETA: my mother was inordinately fond of Cartmel Sticky Toffee Pudding so we were, perhaps, fortunate that back then, it wasn't widely available. :)]

I don't know why, but I find your doctor's recommendations on where to eat rather touching - because it reads like a family doctor transaction from the realms of history and very different to the current UK reality of 7-10 mins with somebody you've probably never seen before with a good amount of that pre-scripted with questions that aren't necessarily relevant to why somebody is visiting.

@Tracy22, congratulations on finding your way back here - and anywhere you announce that on a general thread is a good place to post. :) It's good to know the evaluation questionnaire supports your choice of IF. The weight regain sounds uncomfortable but, what you have going for you is that you know how to do 5:2. Just because people wonder off into the long grass for a while doesn't mean they need to stay there - you've got lots of experience and support to keep you on track.

Good Luck - and I shall look out for your progress as you report it here.
