I'm fasting today - late signing in, as usual! I have been to Pilates this morning, then on the bus into Peterborough to pick up a jumper that I ordered from John Lewis. I avoided their coffee shop because I wasn't convinced that I could have a pot of tea but not have cake today! Back home to write a letter to Lord Davies at the House of Lords and, very shortly, I have got to drive to the post box (five mile round trip!) to post it.
Hope that everyone is doing well today. There are a lot of us! Keep on , keeping on, everyone!
Good morning! I'm here today. I think it will be a good fast day today. It's cold out but the sun is shining. Have a great day everyone
It's a rainy, cold, icy day here in Maryland. I have all day at home, which is a treat, but I want to eat! I typically would be cooking and baking on such a day, and then eating too much.
I think I will make some soup that I can have and try to stay busy.
I think most of you are ahead of me time wise. I hope you are all having successful fast days!

Well I have shoveled the driveway twice so far (I shovel whenever it gets to about 2", because it's a lot easier to shovel a little bit of snow than a lot of snow). That alone brought me to 5K steps! Looks like I'll have at least one more bit of shoveling to do, along with a bit of housework.

The roads are looking pretty bad, so I'm in the unfortunate position of needing to come up with a fast day dinner with only the food in the pantry. I know I have a couple of boneless chicken breasts in the freezer. I really really hate to cook on the afternoon of a fast day, so I really need to plan better. Although in fairness, the forecast did say we'd have only 1 inch and it would be over in the morning. Liars :-(
I am in, and it hasn't been too hard because I am physically unable to eat, I have tonsillitis  Since being to the doctors this morning I've been asleep and just woke up so not had chance to think of food even if I was able to eat. I might try to brave some soup later or scrambled egg, we'll see. Tonsillitis is the worse! Hope you all had a great day.
RedRobin wrote: @Ieramul I'm in for a 3 fast week this week as well, Thursday is my birthday so I have a treat Indian with hubby that night...although I shall ask them to make me my mystery dish ( no idea what it was but I asked our local guy we have known for years to make me something low fat and spicy and it was delicious !) which although better than anything else will still likely take me over TDEE, and then I have a celebration lunch on Saturday with friends which will be at our local Texan BBQ (rare in the UK to find a good one !) which is likely to take me over the limit as well .... so a bit of damage limitation this week

For some reason today I am ravenous possibly because I ate not the best yesterday.... might be time for a bouillon while I finish my presentation ....

Hang on in there everyone only a few more hours to go till we can eat and bolt the kitchen door shut on another fast :like:

@RedRobin great for you to think ahead to pre-empt all those delicious strikes.
i hope you managed to the end of the day. I weakened with an apple and tangarine at 4pm and then when I came home I had two fried eggs with toooooooons of vegetables (mainly peas and carrots) and a lettuce salad. Now I feel full although not sure for how long. I have decided this week to do three instead of two fasts fasts and on a fast day I don't count calories exactly but only have one meal (in the evening) without carbs until I am full, so that I won't go to bed hungry. The extra fast day should compensate my potentially slightly higher calorie intake. Good luck with the remainder of your fast day.
Hello from rainy/icy Boston (USA)!

Today is my first full fast day. For the past few days I've done some 16:8 hour fasting windows but have decided to try 3:4 days for a bit.

I've lost about 90 lbs in the last few years, with some ups and downs, through calorie counting and sometimes Weight Watchers. Recently my weight loss is getting harder but I've still got about 35-50 lbs to go (not sure about a final goal yet!). I've been intrigued in the last few weeks with the evidence I've seen on intermittent fasting, and thought I'd see how it worked for me. The first few days with the eating window were okay, but I wanted something more effective.
Today is going well - I can't believe how quickly it's gone by - faster than when I take breaks to eat! I've been keeping up with my tea and a bit of salt.

Would love to hear about people's results and tips and tricks!
Well I've had all my food for today. My M&S chilli and half an M&S veggie soup. Now all I have to do is wait until tomorrow lunch time

Welcome to the forum, Lizardline! I'm afraid this is going to get buried in the fast day thread, and our friends in Australia and New Zealand won't see it at all. Feel free to repost this in the "Introduce Yourself" forum, or I can move this for you if you prefer. introduce-yourself-f1/

In any case you've done a fantastic job already - well done on losing so much! But yes, as we get smaller, the weight gets harder to lose.

I like to have a cup of chicken bouillon in the afternoon to replenish my salt. I think it's 10 calories well spent. Then I wait and eat dinner at about six.

Well it looks like I'm hogging all of the snow in Saratoga Springs, NY. I think I got about five inches so far, using the very scientific "eyeballing it" method of measurement.

I hope you're feeling better soon!
I'm in today. Haven't struggled at all until late afternoon. Started picking when I was cooking dinner for the kids and now I'm annoyed with myself and hoping I haven't gone over my calories
I'm checking in early today. I just had a 16 oz (473ml) 2% latte. Maybe this is not the thing for a fast day ["maybe" she says!] but I had to go buy coffee beans, and wanted to get hubs a nice drink, and couldn't see giving him one and having to brew coffee for myself [not that I would have had to!]. ANYWAY... Starbucks website tells me this drink is 190 calories. Anyone care to look it up on a calorie counter site, and tell me if that seems right? Not the end of the world if it is, but I'm still wondering...
Great to see so many fasting on Monday, especially all the recent starters. Welcome to you all! :)

It sounds like the weather around the world is not too pleasant at the moment - I can't imagine how cold it must be when you are having to shovel snow, @Tracieknits. Our fine weather is over for the moment too, with lots of rain ahead, but of course nowhere near the cold so many of you are experiencing.

Welcome @SandraD, soup is a great fastday meal - the high water content helps to make it feel more filling! And you can make in bulk and freeze portions for future fast days of course.

And also welcome @lovefasting. :) I did enjoy the day, such perfect weather which is relatively rare here. But I am not sure if needing to keep busy helps me with those chores I don't want to do... though I did get the ironing done in the evening, so that is something. :)

It's now Tuesday for me, fasts over til Thursday. :) Good luck to those of you still fasting! :clover:
I'm sure it's approximately correct give or take maybe 10 calories. This depends on whether they poured the shots high or low, whether the milk was really foamy (fewer calories when there's more air in there) and whether the milk/foam ratio was exactly what it was when they measured it. But yeah, those website estimates are correct enough.
Thanks @Sassy1 - it warmed up unexpected and I think it actually broke freezing for an hour today! Feels practically balmy after the week we have been having, but our high tomorrow is only supposed to be -5c/20f again.
