Fasting today - Monday 19th May
18 May 2014, 19:43
It's 5:40am and I'm trying to fill in the time when I'm normally eating breakfast!

Last Wednesday when I tried to fast, I tried for the first time to not eat until dinner. While I managed it, I was starting to feel quite light-headed and woozy. I wasn't hungry at all, just 'off'. Today I'm going to see how I go. This time I've boiled an egg or two and I'll take them into work, and have my breakfast whenever I feel the need. If I get through the day okay without them, they're going in my salad this evening!

Every blessing to the other fasters out there today!
Good morning,@PeonyBlue, I'm fasting today for the first time in 2 weeks. I'm so looking forward to the feeling I get at the end of the day. I used to find that a cup of miso soup at about 2pm got me through to dinner, Peony. It stopped that woozy feeling. Now I rarely need it, but earlier, I had it every time. Other people use other kinds of salty drinks. Just put it off as long as you can, drinking cups of tea, distracting yourself with mindless activity (- ironing is good) and let the waves of hunger roll over you. It does pass. Have a good day everyone. My family will all be going home today and I will be dealing with my exhaustion and the big gap left by my mother's death last week. I will be gentle with myself and keep it simple.
ooh I am fasting on Monday too (but it's still Sunday here, so I've a few hours of indulgence left). Good luck, I am kind of keen to get back on the wagon tomorrow.
I really need to fast today, but my Uncle is over from Adelaide and wants to take me out to lunch today so I shall just postpone my Fast until tomorrow.

Enjoy the day everybody and take care Sallyo.

cheers Maggie
Thanks Sallyo, and so very sorry about your mother. Take care of yourself - I know that that time when people start heading off becomes quite hard. I'll be keeping you in my thoughts & prayers.
Hello, I'm joining you when I get up tomorrow morning. @PeonyBlue I drink lot's and lot's of tea and lot's of fizzy water, that seems to see me through to the eve when I'll have a light supper - no carbs.

@Sallyo good to see you back with us, gentle and simple sounds perfect with plenty of you time in the mix. What have you planned for supper? I'm about to plan for the week ahead - I find that is a really helpful thing to do - with busy lives etc.

Happy fasting everyone, especially the newbies and returners. :clover:
Thanks darling forum friends, living in a parallel universe. How I love it. I am planning some kind of borsch soup- I have beetroot and cabbage and carrots in the house. I do find soup so comforting and filling on a cold fast day. I agree, Lizbean, about planning a week of meals. It means you can make a shopping list, know what to take out of the freezer, have everything you need on hand and not have to think about it when you get home from work.
I will be in in the morning-chicken salad for tea.
@Sallyo Yum that sounds lovely. It's hot here (for us), so you have planted a gazpacho soup seed for me. Off back to my list!
a sizzling 20 degrees perhaps!
24 to be precise, might be the highest we enjoy this summer! Feels hot to us cooler, soggy wet climate beings!
What an early lot you all are  @PeonyBlueI hope you fast goes well today.
@Maggiee enjoy your lunch.
Its 25 and sunny for us Lizbean.
I hope everyone else has a wonderful day, I'm off to do my stair runs (well stair shuffles really) then to work.
Goodness, everyone's up early today! I think you have the record, @peonyblue! I'm in today too, lovely day for a bike ride this morning, maybe miso soup midafternoon, then some Jamie Oliver falafel & salad for dinner. I know what you mean @sallyo, there's nothing better than the satisfaction of looking back over a successful fast day. So glad you can be gentle with yourself today.

Happy fasting, everyone!
I'm in. Happy to veg out today having done some overly vigorous gardening yesterday. Have a good day everyone.
