Whose joining me for a fast today?

Last week had me successfully fasting most of the week due to a tummy bug

Feeling much improved today and looking forward to a more productive week

I'll be having just a coffee this morning and a big salad with poached chicken for dinner tonight.

Good luck to all my fellow fasters and welcome to new fasters starting today! :clover:
It's still Sunday evening here but I'll be fasting when Monday rolls around.
I will be fasting on Monday (when it gets here!) I'm going to be doing 2 things differently than on a normal fast day. We have tomorrow off for MLK Day. I haven't fasted on a day off before. I also will be going for a 3 mile walk, since I missed it today. I haven't exercised on a fast day either. So, we'll see how it goes! I'm also going to try grilled grapefruit after dinner to see if that squelches my need for sweets!
Well done everyone, sounds like great plans.
I'll be doing tomorrow as well; may be tricky as I'm running to and from rehearsals (which may help) then off to Central London for a big actors event thing! It has a wine reception lol so that's gonna be hard to ignore, but think I'll be better being professional and T total ;) x
Fasting today - my first fast of 2014! Feeling a bit nervous but put on 3 kilos over the holidays (which was actually a pleasant surprise believe it or not!) so it is well needed!
Glad your feeling better Otter. Just having my morning coffee then off to work for the first time this year. Not sure what dinner will be, hopefully inspiration will strike me later.
I'm in today Otter. You were up early! @cblaszI often have a square of dark chocolate for a dessert on a fast day. Or strawberries which are in season here. If I've had a rigorous fast day I can usually afford that little indulgence. I do plan on a rigorous fast day today. Busy, especially in the afternoon, which is my hardest hours. I have an interview at 2pm. I'm nominating to stand as a Green candidate in the State election - not that I'll get in, but just to be the 5th candidate so Greens have someone to vote for,and my exhausted votes will go to our main candidate, who we do hope will get in. They needed a woman. A bit daunting! And then after that, I'm running a training session from 4.30 to 6.30. SO that'll all keep me away from food. If people expect biscuits at the training event, they'll be disappointed. Feeling very motivated with fasting at the moment because my last weigh in gave me a new low weight.

Crab patties and salad for dinner.
Oh, very best of luck for tomorrow Sallyo! I'm sure you'll do really well. :like: :clover: :like: :clover: :like: :clover:
I will be joining you all in the morning - and I'm really looking forward to it! Really!! :)
Thanks - I am joining you Otter it being a lovely morning here in Melbs.

Good work Sallyo - all the best. :like:

Happy fasting everybody
cheers
Maggie
I'm in. I was a bit worried as last night, when I went to bed I was really hungry. However I woke up this morning feeling not the least bit hungry. Weird!
Best of luck Sallyo!!! And all other fasters :)
I think I may have tuna on toast for lunch because I'll need protein for post-exercise muscle repair (don't want to ache loads on Tuesday). Then I'll have my yummy salsa leftovers for dinner. (Have a look at my recipe on the recipes board if you need ideas!) xxx
I'm here today, fasting. Last one for a whole 9 days. I'm going to beautiful Bright, never been successful in not indulging on holiday and wouldn't want to. Life is too short, even if I am a bit more particular in what I fancy, instead of mindless eating, but being out of routine, can do that to me.
Have a great day fasters
Does anyone combine 5:2 and low carb? I have digestive issues that are much more manageable when I cut down on carbs - I have come to the end of my tether with feeling rubbish all the time. I am a carb lover but I feel now for the first time ever that I just can't keep doing this to my body. I generally eat very well and very little pasta and bread - potatoes and rice are my killer. I'm also hoping that this will kick start the weight loss again. Does anyone combine the two successfully? How have you found the adjustment?

Thanks for your advice!
