Every day there will be a new topic in this forum for today's fasters to chat & support each other.
Please don't make extra threads in here besides the daily fasting threads, if you've got a question please post it in the relevant forum or ask in today's 'Fasting Today' thread, thank you.
Dinner will be something Hairy, probably the Moussaka. Back to sew a compass needle.
Have a great one!
It's raining here, and cold enough that the rain is falling on the icicles that have seeped out of the cliff behind our house. That means black ice on the roads. So I will stay home until it gets a lot warmer.
@Juliana.Rivers, I love pad thai, but it is the single highest carb food I can eat and raises my blood sugar to dreadful heights. Small portions can easily contain 100 g of carbs, a third more than a large bagel! So it is possible your ice cream episode occurred because you experienced a blood sugar swing that made you crave more sweets.
And wondering why on earth I bought a gorgeous BBC Good Food magazine full of Christmas deliciousness. Clearly masochistic!! It is now just gone 5pm and my tummy has been rumbling for some time. I hope everyone is having a good day.
Hope everybody had a good fasting day today!
Hope it's gone well for everyone!
@SusieKa, it sounds like fasting is really suiting you. 2 fasts a week is plenty and sustainable for the long term.No need to tweak if all is going well .
Sending hugs and chicken soup to @Brand-ie I hope you get better soon.
@Maggiee it usually takes me a few weeks to get back in to fasting after a holiday. By week 3 I'm usually back on track. If I fail a fast on Monday I don't retry on Tuesday but just try again on Thursday. Eventually it clicks.
Xxx julianna
I have been busy in the kitchen today. Someone gave me a bag of quinces so they have been boiling on the stove . I am now straining them through muslin in order to make quince jelly, but the liquid is dripping through very slowly. I have never made it before and probably won't again if I don't get a decent amount of jelly.
I have also started my mincemeat, ready for Christmas. It is currently sitting in a bowl to merge all the flavours and tomorrow it will be heated very gently in the oven so that the butter (I don't use suet) covers all the individual pieces of fruit. Good luck to our American friends who are only part-way through your fasting day. Onwards and downwards!
to those with many more hours to go or who are finding today difficult.
And although many in Oz are suffering with extreme heat, that is NOT the case where I live. It feels freezing. 6C this morning, and we are almost at summer. I know that is not cold by US and UK standards, but I am getting fed up with it (tho this is totally typical for where I live, so I should stop whining!!)
Am looking forward to breakfast!
Hope you all had a successful fast, especially all those new to 5:2. (and great to hear from Hazelnut again. )
