@Sue.Q , @Noodle and @Debs isn't it awful that all those years when we could have been slimmer and healthier we were being brainwashed and look what happened to us all. I just wish I'd never caved in to the pressure on me to eat when I didn't want to but, better late than never even though it is harder now after all the years of overeating .

Tell me about it Ballerina. I was talking a work colleague today, a lovely, smart girl who was shocked when I said I never went for breakfast. She was convinced she should eat it even though she didn't really feel like it. It was as though I had given her permission not to have it  . So she skipped it!
All those years of being told to eat, which I guess is a war legacy that we have all lived with.
Anyway, I shall in future only eat when I feel like it. So there!!

Strangely enough I can't ever remember my parents or family insisting on me taking breakfasts as I was always running late for my work bus I just rushed of out only sometimes having a slice of toast, but the Hubby's family totally the opposite 3 meals daily or else I suppose that's when the rot set in
I changed to suit him ( stupid idiot me ). so its all his fault then right yes I thought so!!! Its so ingrained into him still and that'sthe reason iI don't use the "F" word to him not yet but sometime very soon.

Day one of our new plan going well just going to reread all Caroline's advice. :clover: :clover:

I'm off to bed @Debs Day one complete forgot to get the sticks on tomorrow's list now.
Chicken breast and a very large salad with everything I could think of on it and very low in carbs no chocolate!!!
Well done you! I had a good day yesterday too, finished with a small piece of 88% choc which was lovely. Here we go again!!!
Debs, I hope the eating window works for you. A small tip that works for me, if I am feeling hungry in the mornings or if I know I am not going to be eating until later than I normally do, I have a small piece of full fat cheese or a spoon full of double cream. This really stops the hunger pangs in their tracks and I understand that it should not break my fast or knock me out of ketosis, if that's where I am. Whatever the science, right or wrong, it seems to work and helps me get through til my meal, good luck

Hi ballerina, sat it out until lunch today and not overly hungry now either, thirsty though, protein always makes me thirsty. Trying not to drink too much though otherwise I'll be up all night again!

Not sure how many days to do the protein thing, I'll see how. I go as I will start to struggle at some point. @Sue.Q, how are you going in our brave new plan?!!
Hi Debs, most days are a doddle, some are more challenging but on the whole I love it. It works well for me and I see no reason to ever give up my 'window' existence. In the last year I must have bust my window no more than 2possibly 3 times at the most, I call that a success. Hope you do as well,

I had regular meals until I went to London and then it was a case of eating when I could and as fast as I could because I worked 24 hours shifts. Up until last November my meals were all over the place because we lived on a sailing boat and again when we were on the move had to eat when circustances permitted! Now I eat when I feel the need to eat and the weight has stayed off.
@debs I seem to remember @TML13 saying that the Dukan attack lasts 3 days? Perhaps she'll pop in and remind us how it works? I know she found it very effective.

If you get signs of being in ketosis though, I'd say you can gradually introduce a more balanced diet. Signs of ketosis: smelly breath, acetone taste in the mouth, increased thirst and loss of hunger.
Yes, yes, yes, yes and yes!!! Could be there with the metallic taste, better not get to close to anyone!
I'll do it again tomorrow as today went ok, but three days will probably be about it. Having lots of psyllium to counteract the, ahem, other problems that come with protein
Not sure exactly what the question is but Dukan's attack doesn't have an exact duration. It depends on how much weight a person should lose.
In the Greek book, it says that one should do the attack for as many days as the kilos they want to lose. I used the online real weight calculator of Dukan's website and it told me that I should do it for 3 days.
What I did was combine it with 5:2 and did 2 days of attack then one day of 500 then one regular day, another day of 500 and two regular days. Thank God for surimi, or I'd hate every minute of it, LOL!

Regarding breakfast, although my parents never told me to eat it or not and although as a teen and as a student I never had breaky, as soon as I started to work and I wanted my brain to work with me I realised what that importance of breakfast that everybody was talking about was!
The days of 16:8 were a nightmare. Especially after a fast days, when my stomach was screaming "FEED MEEEEE"!!!

Sometimes I read here the stories of people who are good with less carbs and more fat, who don't need breakfast, who aren't hungry after a fast day, who are OK with eating for 8 hours and not eat for 16 and I am trying to relate but I can't. I think I love food too much, LOL! Don't get me wrong, I did all this (well, not the carb reducing) but I hated it! I did love the results though! :-)
Hmm...not sure that day for every kilo thing works at all weights! If I'd decided to use Dukan for my weight loss ills had have to have done the attack for 40 days !
Hi @Debs Yes I'm on target with our new plan I'm going for 4 days all hopefully with the "Eat Stop Eat " method have been into town delivering to charity shops again not bought anything either all to keep me occupied had 2 coffee breaks but I'm disappointed because I couldn't get the ketosis sticks have seen them on Amazon but wanted to test asap.
Was very shocked last night when is I'd checked few items on my salad I looked into fruit for afters blimey I've been eating 3 pieces a day on non fast days plus and my feet and legs are very swollen again I wonder why!!!
How Stupid.
Didn't have the fruit or chocolate or wine I'm giving this plan at least 4 full days without any of them deffo
because I can because of certain non events over weekend.
Will look at the dukan thanks for your input TML13
I don't want or need brekie and I'm not sure if I'm fatburning with the side effects Caroline describes all I can say is I'm not hungry until I eat and I've been like this for almost one year now, my mouth feel awful at this moment because I've had an oxo. Lol

I agree. I think that the Greek book is full of cr@p. Not that I've read it but I've spoken to people who have and they tell me a lot of things that I've never read on the website. My uncle did the attack phase for TEN days and didn't poop for EIGHT, LOL!!!

Anyway, IMO, the best way to go is check the real weight calculator OR just do it for 2-3 days to get things going, like I did. Easy peasy...

Sue, we're the opposite. I'm always hungry UNTIL I eat, LOLOLOL!!!
