If you go onto the official dukan website you can input your info and it will work out how long on attack etc etc. I seem to remember eating loads of cottage cheese yuk yuk yuk. Eggs, and goo meat and fish. It's very wierd eating only protein and very low fat stuff for up to three days. You certainly realise how much you love your veggies. Send me your pee and I can test it for you!!!!
@carieoates wwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww
Have had a heavy water day today for a change so a very lonnnggg one over to you.
Hi all, I am joining this group. I think time restricted fasting is better for my lifestyle than 5:2 or 4:3 (which I am currently attempting. Note the word attempting vs. doing!).

So, glad to meet you all.
I have decided to try doing 16:8 (it will probably be 17:7 or 18:6) in combination with 6:1 5 days a week (weekends off). I have been doing 5:2 for a few weeks now and am struggling with my water drinking (too much / too little / lacking salt? etc). I go to a high intensity spinning class 3 times a week and if I fast on those days I don't seem to be able to find the right balance in water intake and usually feel like crap in the afternoon. If I only fast on non-spinning days I only have one day in between and that is not enough for me (or I have to fast on weekends which I really don't fancy).
So next week it will be approx 500cals on tuesday and the other 4 workdays I will skip breakfast and just have lunch and dinner (maybe some fruit in between). I go to spinning at noon on mon-wed-fri so on those 3 days I expect that I will completely empty my glycogen stores as I wont be eating until after spinning. (If it does not go well on monday I will probably go back to having a piece of fruit before class).

I am sticking to this plan next week to see how it goes. Wish me luck :)
Good luck @icefast! This is the fantastic thing about intermittent fasting, isn't it? You can just adapt things to fit your circumstances. Great stuff!

Yes, that's what I did. Went on the website and did the calculator thing.

I don't mind cottage cheese but I mainly ate omelettes, surimi (imitation crab), chicken fillets with yoghurt sauce and cajun spices and smoked fish (not the very salty kind) with cream cheese. Twas OK for two days, since all were things I liked. My main problem was breaky because I usually have biscuits and that's when I gave 16:8 a try and had no breakfast (well, just coffee).
@Sue.Q I just bought my ketostix at the chemist/pharmacy. Maybe you could try there. They cost me $10.
Hi All,
Going to get some ketostix when I go home. Weight has gone up, probably due to my lack of 'activity' if you know what I mean
Am having physllium regularly, and plenty to drink, to no avail. This is always a problem for me if I do this. Ah well, time will tell.
Thanks everyone for all your input, much appreciated.
This is all going well - not!!! Feel completely bloated and don't think I can ever look a chicken in the face again  .
The thought of more protein tonight fills me with horror, I just want to drink! No doubt I have dog breath too; I have been deliberately keeping my distance just in case. How anyone could do this for me than three days beats me! May have to resort to the old senna tablets tonight.
to eating window tomorrow I think and roll on yoghurt and berries!

Or a Parson's nose?

Ballerina x
Definitely not even a parson's nose!!! Nor even its cluck!
Yes @Julianna I tried both chemists in town with no luck Boots told me to get them from my GP free because they're very expensive but i've seen them on Amazon.
@Debs I know what you mean about the chicken but I'm doing OK and still going for my 4 day's did forget 2 things tonight's wine on menu may just decline but the biggest letdown for me is sugar haven't been able to give it up and only slightly reduced the carbs in that "spoils" my counting!!!! The 20g @carorees Told you to aim for I would have been way under by my reckoning.
This has got to be addressed once and for all and my fruit intake ( no fruit for these 4days )
My results are extremely hopeful and its looking as if the April weigh-in will probably be next Fri, but of course I've got to bring other foods back into my diet at some stage because my calories must be way over for a fastday I'm not counting just eating all protein with salads + veggies but no I'm not eating the whole chicken well not in one meal. Lol

I had a four legged chicken today for lunch!
