Welcome @sarahg into this tent :clover:
Most of my days are now 18:6 this suits me very well because I wake up not hungry (listening to my body yes a first) also back to 4:3 a more disciplined regime suiting me for now because we have a holiday looming and this time last year I was dreading the overeating and gaining my considerable loss no fear and dread now because I am listening to my body and my normal days wait until 1pm before my lunch then evening meal 6-7pm this plus low carb routine is my timetable for now :clover: :clover: :clover:
Thanks sue
Yesterday I tried a 5hour window, not eating until 5 but today I couldn't and ate an apple around 1 and then lunch at 4
I am thinking of trying 16/8 everyday but will try a sort of fast ie as best as I can manage on Monday ,Tuesday,Wednesday Thursday and then relax a bit Friday and weekend
When I was younger I used to set like tht and maintained I really good weight
It may be too hard to fast tht much but if I attempt four and do three tht is good
I am sure there will be some people out there who wil not agree with this approach
I find if I only fast two times a week I eat enough on the nonfast days to put all the weight back on
@Sue.Q, my experimentation buddy! Looks as though your BMI has slipped below 36 on your progress tracker, nice work! Hope you are still going well on your fasting journey, I am back over in the ADF tent trying low again and breaking through my sugar cravings. Not easy with a fridge full of chocolate!
Hi @Debs Sorry for my absence today I've had a spa day treat once a month from now on unfortunately today's treatment was chocolate mud body scrub so obviously wanting chocolate ever since and have done!!!
Think my BMI dropped the week of our experiment this was my lowest so far, but I actually gained 300grams week after but that scale shock made me get back on track and done low carb days since until today so back to basics on Thurs then weigh-in Friday.
Hope your ADF plan works well for you there's got to be an answer out there for each and everyone of us, the problem is finding the solution. :clover: Good luck :clover: :clover:

I could hear that food calling to me from the "fasting today" thread! Oh @gillymary, I shouldnt have read that at the end of a fast day! Sounds delicious. Image
Oooops, just realised that I have stuck my nose into your tent! I have been listening outside for a while, but I think I might give the window a try. To date the 5:2 along with running on the c25k programme has been working for me. However, I just had two weekends away in a row and did 16:8 fairly successfully on the days that I had family meals, deserts and wine. Weight loss hasn't been spectacular, but I have still lost where as I would have gained without the windows. The old me on an old diet would have gone off the rails completely at similar weekends. I have been listening at the tent flaps for a while as I really love my breakie, but that might be part of the reason I am here trying to lose weight in the first place!
Come on in @scubachick everyone's welcome
we all need to find what suits and fits each and everyone, I've not missed my breakfast at all I've learned that I ate it because we were all told that's the most important meal of the day rubbish
Most of my days are now more like 18:6 with a light lunch on my 4 normal days also reducing my carb intake all going very well until today's spa day treat carb heavy and now I'm feeling bloated, sluggish and tired, bed time I think. :clover:
Hi izzy
I am also trying to do 5 hour window
Just started this week as I had a bad weekend
Weight is already down
Decided to try 5 or 6 hour window for the next month
I havnt found it too bad this week and may take a day off over the weekend
Just bumped the fast-5 thread for Izzy and it looks like sarahg might pop in as well, good luck ladies

Yeah,5/ 8 didn't work for me when I find it last year,then I added16/8 and lost a few kilos
But gave it all up n September when I went travelling
At first I maintained the right weight, but over time I re gained
I kept trying 5/2 but just couldn't get back into it
Until this week when I decided to try a sort of fast 5 ,nice to see the wright loss and I have to say I feel really good during the day when I don't eat,and my evening meal is smaller
Good luck to you
Let's keep in touch .i am going to try fast 5 but may have to have a day off sometimes due to social commitments
Xx
Izzy, there is definitely something about the fast 5 that makes it easier to be in control
I feel, quite good all day not eating ,knowing I can eat at end of afternoon .and I find I am eating much less at dinner.but yesterday 10min before close of window I panicked and grabbed cracker and cheese.i had FOH....fear of hunger, wasn't hungry at all
Good luck
It's an odd thing but having read the fast-5 book and having decided to go until 5pm without eating, hubby and I have then thought , "Well why eat at 5pm, we've only got another two hours to dinner." We've ended up doing 24hrs now for two days and we're not too hungry. Both of us are in maintenance, but hoping for more wiggle room before we go on holiday in June and we've found getting rid of the last few pounds a bit difficult. It will be interesting to see if this does the trick.

Hi Auriga, it sounds like you have both chosen, for the moment, to have just one meal per day. I do this most days but I tend to eat anywhere between 2 and 5 pm as I find that late enough. It also means that if I suddenly get hungry, and I mean HUNGRY, not just bored, then I can just extend my window from 30 minutes to a few hours and no harm done. I am quite comfortable eating just once a day, I now hardly ever think about food in the mornings so, good luck and I will be interested to hear how it works out.

I have been struggling with the fast 5 so am now happily doing 16/8
I eat a light lunch around 2 and might have a small snack in the afternoon as we eat diviner quite late
But i am trying to,stop,eating by 8pm
The weight is finally coming off but sooooo slowly, probably cos I don't have much to loose and also I am a healthy eater so it's not like I needed to give up junk food or cut down on carbs or limit portion size.i am pretty controlled mist of the time.sometimes I do go crazy on nuts though.
