Well we both made it to our M&S supper. My OH has been very surprised that he did not feel at all hungry throughout the day with just having black coffee, water, coffee with a splash of milk & Bovril. He now knows that he can easily fast! He mentioned that he had thought that he would feel very hungry throughout the day. We have been out & about today & felt energetic & active. Isn't 5:2 brilliant! My OH is another convert with my sons also interested in joining in.
This is my second fast day. Much more successful than my 1st fast day which had a 700cal total consumption
Today was an apple a graze snack for lunch, proper 350cal dinner. Done. Maybe wiggle room for a cup of tea later. Not counting the calories in my flaxseed oil capsule, drawing the line somewhere!
Clothes feel tighter than ever today after bad eating for the past 2 weeks, and fish and chips last night won't have helped but will stick with this as I believe in the theory.
My 5th fast today. Last meal at 18.00 last night. Did a 12 hour nightshift last night and coped fine, drinks plenty of fluids. Slept for 4 hours today and now sitting here waiting for dinner to finish cooking and I'm just NOT hungry. I suppose I could wait until morning tomorrow to eat but I don't really want to go 36 hours and plus the scales aren't showing any difference in my weight since my last fast on Thursday.

Still I've got chicken drumsticks, lentil dahl and steamed veg to look forward to.
Came home early as developed a mild fever but stuck with the fast as didn't feel hungry. Just had some soup and crackers. I did intend to cook some fish but not up to cooking. Will be glad when today is over. :)

Well done everyone for getting through the fast day.
Didn't have the best of days work-wise, but have managed to keep to the fast....just had a salad with some haddock, followed by blueberries, and had some cals left if I feel the need later.
TOTM so surprised it was so easy...mind you know I am retaining water, as put on 3lbs this am, so have decided not to weigh again until Friday, and hope things will have balanced themselves out.....
Red01 wrote: Hi All,
6th week of fasting and roughly 8 lbs off, I am struggling to get past that all important 10 lbs point, like so many of you! I am going for a no food day, this will be my 2nd but getting some cals from a little drop of milk in my coffee this morning. Finding it easier than counting cals but had an aweful headache on my last fast so keeping an eye today. While the weight loss is not as fast as I would like have definitely lost inches around my waist and am thrilled with that

That's faster than the average, you should be very happy. :like:
Who would have thought 400 calories could taste so good?
Tonight's dinner:
2 fish cakes
Mixed salad
Heinz salad cream.
Treat with my cuppa.......2 Melba toast with scraping of hummus.
I know ideally we should avoid too many carbs on fast days, but I don't reckon it will do me too much harm in the long run.
I certainly haven't felt deprived today, and know I'll sleep we'll as my tummy is nicely full.
Changed days!
Well I started today and I really was hungry by tea time. Had a large tuna salad though no dressing! A bit bland but its filled a hole! Hungry just now but looking forward to tomorrow where I cane eat times a day!
Hello Everyone!!!

We're nearly there! :)

This is only my second fasting day and it has been a good one though just now starting to feel a few pangs again despite my mountainous veg stir fry earlier. Time for a cup of tea to take the edge off and maybe an early night.

Best wishes to all!

Oh my I missed the forum today! I just realized how much easier it is to fast when I have you lot to chat with about it ;-) Anyhow, I very nearly popped in to the indian buffet for lunch, but I stayed strong! So I've been good today and definitely looking forward to a reward tomorrow!
I've got a couple hours til bedtime, then tomorrow I get to eat! This was my first fast day. I managed to get by on 2 cups of black coffee and water. No food at all. I was hungry a couple of times, but not as bad as I thought I would be.
Hi cindyls! I was just about to go to bed myself and then I saw your post and thought it deserved a reply. Your first fast and you don't make life easy for yourself, do you. No food at all today? Not even your 500 cals which you are allowed? I hope that you are going to eat 'normally' tomorrow because it will be tricky to keep your motivation going if you cut down too much.

Anyway- good luck and I hope this WOE works as well for you as it seems to be doing for my husband and me. I look forward to seeing your future posts.
Oh I'm ready to eat tomorrow! I did make it thru the day, and heading to bed now. No I did not even eat the 500 calories. I guess I wanted to see if I could do it. My worse time was this evening. I was watching The Bachelor and wanted to snack SO BAD, but I just drank more water. Almost a gallon today! I was wondering if anyone thinks it helps more to do a total fast like this, or if you do lose more by eating the 500 calories.
Glad to see so many new fast-ers today. Happy for a fast today, I had way too much fun over the weekend leading to way much food intake.

My day`s almost over ... despite temptations of donuts, muffins, croissants flying my way.

A few more hours til bed and happy to say that it`s getting easier and todays fast was a success.
Cindyls - I don't think there's been enough research on that question. Right now, we're kind of all running with a "your results may vary" attitude, and trying to find what works best for each of us. Since, like most overweight people, I've tried a *lot* of different diets before, I'm not so much going for *fast* loss as I am going for *sustainable* habits. I can incorporate this into my life fairly easily, as long as I still get to have dinner with my family. I save all of my calories for dinner, and then I'm really satisfied all evening long. Really, I just have to get through about a 4 hour stretch in the afternoon that requires any willpower at all. And I know I can get through that!
