Hello Monday fasters
I am also fasting today & as an experiment my OH is joining me today. He has Type 2 diabetes so he will see how it goes with possibly a banana in reserve if he feels he needs it. We had a wonderful sushi lunch yesterday with our family with lots of wine but the really only calorific thing was some ice cream. But I'm sure my body will be pleased to be fasting after the wine. We are doing my usual thing of only drinks all day with an evening meal, this time I am having an M&S feeling fuller meal since so many people have recommended them.
Good luck & have a good day all Monday fasters :D
Morning all UK'ers & USA & HK. Good luck to our fast today. Plan to eat nothing until tea time. It's only my 5th fast but I know if I have hunger pains during the day I can deal with it. Think about those scales. :P
I am on my 13th Fast Day at the start of Week 6. I have lost 5.8kgs. I am going without breakfast for the first time so will split my 500 cals between lunch & supper. Drinking a lot of water but so far ok, except for feeling chilly.
Have a good day everyone.
Hello everyone. Today fasting and I'm glad. I ate chocs and cake mainly this week end for my daughter's birthday. Looking forward to my salad tonight :). I'm cold and keep sneezing, tired.

Happy Monday everyone

Hi Tracey, My first day today also! I've heard the secret is to keep busy, good luck and keep it up! :D
Hi everybody. Today is my 14th Fasting (cleansing) day. I feel great at 65 years old. People say I look well and have a sparkle..I ate loads at the week-end so I actually feel my body needs a fast today. I had white coffee and porridge made with water and a tspoonful of honey for breakfast (about (200 cals) and wont eat anything until about 6pm when I will have 1 200gm tin of baked beans (159 cals) on a slice of crusts away bread..brilliant!..which is 45 cals..and drink water all day long..roll on tomorrow when I can have my usual daily tipple of a small vodka at 7pm with a diet ginger ale !! Good luck to all new fasters..IF you are having a bad day just think of it as CLEANSING and keep busy..they really do get easier..
Hi all
I'm fasting as well today. Thanks for all the good lucks so far.
After trying the 'nothing until evening meal' way last week I'm going for it again. I find I'm not as hungry if I don't have breakfast and can keep motivated by looking forward to a nice meal later.
Like many others I have not yet thought about what that might be yet but I like the suggestion of the M&S feeling fuller meals.
I am planning Monday, Wednesday & Friday fasts this week because
- I find fasting at work so much more productive if I'm not thinking about what can I eat next
- if I am not fasting at work I am too close to the temptation of Greggs etc and end up 'pigging out' which then brings on guilt and I can do without that.

So a 4:3 approach this week.
Have a good day everyone.
Amanda
Hello all,

I'm new to the forum but 3 weeks into fasting. Mondays and Wednesdays are my usual. I'm off work ill today and was a bit worried how I'd get on without the usual distractions of work, but finding and joining this forum has helped greatly. I have now ordered the book and am considering trying a day with most calories saved for tea time. I eat what I like on the other days which helps me stick to my guns during the fast days. Really hoping I can stick with this long term!
I'm confused about the 2pm - 2pm tactic. When we fast from bedtime we are actually doing it for roughly 36 hours as it includes two sleeps. This must be significant surely? Fasting today and everything seems loaded with calories...need some inspiration
This will be my third fast after a very long weekend away full of rich food - although I did quite well by not pigging out completely! I'm actually looking forward to literally not having much on my plate today!

Good luck today fellow fasters. :o)

Yes, that's right. Doing 2pm to 2pm really only works if you don't eat in that time (rather than have 500 cals) and even then if you have a big lunch before 2 and another big lunch after 2 the next day you will not have reduced your calorie intake by much. I really wish Mimi hadn't mentioned it! It has caused somuch confusion!
Sixth week for husband and me but only our tenth fast today because we missed one while we were away from home a week ago. Very pleased with our weight loss, so far, and the fast days are not difficult as long as we can keep busy.

We will have nothing to eat all day and then dinner is already prepared because we had unexpected visitors yesterday evening. They didn't leave until gone ten o'clock, so at that point we just had a sandwich instead of starting to cook our meal. So, new potatoes, chicken, leeks, carrots and broccoli for us tonight with maybe a meringue nest and fruit later in the evening. A proper meal to look forward to!

Have a happy day, fellow fasters!
Thankyou Carorees for clearing that up. Thought it too good to be true and it just didn't make sense. Now it does - don't eat!
I'm fasting today. 0.6lb loss this week and only 2lb this month. Given my history not bad for me but I had been managing about a pound a week. Hope it's not going to stall completely.
On a brighter note I had a measure. I have lost 1" fom waist, 2" from hips and more than 2" from each thigh.
We had roast chicken last night. I am going to try the hairy dieters chicken and ham pie tonight. I will calorie count it as I will not be starting with a whole chicken and will only be making it for 2.
Hi everyone.

Today is my first fast day!! Me and the hubby have decided that this diet seems to be a good way of losing weight, and I've read some great things about it.

So far so good today. I'm not a big water drinker (I know I should drink more), but I think it will be important on this diet, so have a bottle of water with me all the time now.

We have our food planned for today, so that should help. Having lunch and dinner to see how it goes.

Good Luck to all others fasting today.

Emma
