Lost count of the number of fasts I've done now! But I've been doing 5:2 since the start of January. Was feeling a little down because my weight loss seemed to have stalled and then gone up a bit, then down a bit, then up a bit... etc etc.
But this morning I was 1lb less than this time last week but the biggest thing was that my scales told me my body fat % had reached the lowest ever reading!
So although I've weighed less since starting this, my body fat was higher then than it is now.

Thinking about it, I've been cycling a fair bit more, restarted C25K and been taking the dog for longer, brisker walks so I think the increased exercise is having some sort of effect.

Brainy husband who loves numbers (!) roughly worked out that at my lightest weight I was 42.3lbs of fat and 102lbs of lean tissue and I'm now 38.4lbs of fat and 108.2lbs of lean tissue.
And I was moaning just the other week that although I felt slimmer I also felt flabbier and then everything wobbled too much for my liking! So hoping this is starting to address that

Incidentally from the start, my omron scales have always had me weighing 2lbs more than my old Weightwatchers scales did, so it was difficult to make the initial leap to them, but I'm glad I did as I've been able to see the difference in body fat.

Hunger has been okay today - had the odd tummy rumble but not really accompanied by that horrible gnawing sensation I've had before. Actually think I felt more hungry on my fast day yesterday!
Oooh forgot to say, I'm going to do C25K after work in a couple of hours on the treadmill at the gym. Not run on a fast day before so I hope I feel okay. Mind you, I'm only in week one so am only running for 60 seconds at a time and brisk walking for 90 seconds over the course of half an hour so shouldn't be too taxing.

Hi, I'm new! Today is my second fast day - boiled egg and grapefruit for breakfast. Don't think I'll have that again, not the best mixture. I'm in sales, on the road and was worried how I would feel today but so far so good. Been out this morning seeing clients so have been busy - now back at home with a cup of green tea eyeing up the Hairy Dieters book, the pictures aren't making me run to the fridge or corner shop so I am very pleased!

I'm 5'5'' and grown to 153Ilbs from the 126 I was 10 years ago. I would like to drop 14ILBs if I can, clothes will look better and I am hopefully streering away from getting larger and the health implications that has.
Fasting today too. I think I'm finding it easier these days, there are just a few tricky times when I really fancy eating something, but I find if I keep busy through those it passes :)

Mind you, I learnt a valuable lesson this morning - don't go shopping in Costco on a fast day! There were SOOOO many tasting stands up - and they all seemed to have very yummy stuff... but that might have been just me - lol!

Next danger point is looming - post school pickup - just need to focus on the dinner ahead.

Good luck to everyone!

Today is also my second fast day. So far, I've only had a cup of tea and a cup of black coffee. I find eating early in the day only spurs my appetite, so I'll wait until later on--maybe even dinnertime--to eat. My first fast was on Tues and it was pretty easy. Even managed to go to Le Pain Quotidien for lunch as I often do. Had a cup of berries (85 cal) and black coffee (5 cal) rather than my usual double latte and vegetarian quiche, though! Later, I made black bean salad and served it on arugula. Gave it to the kids, too, who gobbled it up. 250 cals. I bought some roast turkey breast for tonight, which I'll have with arugula. I don't think I hit even 1500 cals yesterday as I was really conscious about what I was eating rather doing the auto-pilot thing (which made me fat to begin with!).

Hey, hey! Today is my second fast day as well. I didn't find the first bad at all, so hopefully that continues! Maybe it's because I just started, but does anyone else get a little preoccupied/crazy about planning their fast days? I use myfitnesspal (I've been using it for awhile), and I find myself spending a lot of time changing up foods to work the calories to 500 or under. I guess I will get into some sort of routine so I don't even have to think about it. Or maybe I'm just odd - haha! I actually think it's fun! 10:00 am today and have just had coffee!

Anyway, y'all have a great day!! Goooo 5:2 fasters!

HI
hope i dont put a downer on all you lovely fasters who are sticking to it but today i feel i have failed, not massively but enough to be mad at myself
i made mistake of having a proper cup-a-soup at lunch rather than the bouillon i have been drinking adn then my 10 almonds tunred into a small bag of salted cashews, but i really enjoyed the salt
so 2nite i am having a gammon steak and salad in a bid to keep mu cals low but looking on MFP i will probably hit 700 cals so bad but not too bad

good luck everyone else

No beating up allowed! We all do what we can and fasting days are not written in stone. If it is not right today switch to another day.
Going well for me, still nothing eaten since breakfast porridge but am hungry, OH just had a piece of the chocolate cake I made yesterday and it didn't bother me. I will have some tomorrow if I still want it. Planning soup and thin slice of dry toast later.
Am off now to collect today's eggs from my girls!
Well hello y'all. My "2" day of the 5-2 diet. Started off with a smaller bowl of oatmeal (without the usual soymilk but just added a bit more H2O) and a touch of blueberry and strawberry. Delish. Now I'm having a cup of Genmai-cha. Have lots of presentations to do and want to swim my 2500 m tonight so will just keep smiling and forget about food until late tonight when I'll go for a bowl of veggie soup and a skorpa.
Fasting day here today, nothing for me so far just teas and water, dinner about 6.30, but I'm fine, it's all good
It's also my first day of fasting & I found that I didn't feel really hungry before I had porridge at 10.40 this morning but immediately after it I felt really hungry. I've had lots of different teas today, camomile & spearmint, chai & white tea & managed to get to 5.30pm then had evening meal. I found myself thinking about food quite a bit today & kept busy by knitting & doing housework. I'm feeling rather surprised & proud of myself as I expected to feel a bit rough on so few calories but I don't.
This is my 2nd fasting day, I'm normally a grazer and addicted to sugar, so i've split my allowance into 3. Surprising I am finding it easier than I imagined and what surprised me most after the first fast, I couldn't eat more than 1400 calories the next day and even then I had to force myself to eat.. 6 more Fast's before my holiday!
It's my second fast day of the week. I am now having no food days and so my fasts are 24 hours and 12/13 hours.

I have discovered that one of my favourite lunches of tuna fish, a tin of mixed beans with a hot chilli some balsamic vinegar and a splash of Tabasco sauce is only 245 calories, so I added two rivita thins to add another 90 calories.

I am a very happy bunny tonight. Just going to have my scoop of chocolate ice cream in a cone and that's me till breakfast.

I hope everyone else is having a good day. Today has been much easier than Monday.
This is my 3rd fast day. Had a lunchtime meeting which helped a lot, so only had an apple and some seeds before beetroot soup and toast with some philli for dinner. Not starving like my first fast day but would love to eat more, just gonna power through til tomorrow. Haven't weighed myself yet since 2 weeks ago, before I started. Don't feel much different I have to admit. Had stinking headaches first and second fasts but today is really good. Irritability has settled too. Really want to lose 7kgs, don't mind how quickly. Will keep going and weigh myself in 2 weeks, that'll be monthly weigh ins, which is psychologically sensible I think.
I just started this week so today is my second fast day. Tuesday was much easier. Today I have very little energy and find I am more hungry than Tuesday. I've been staying hydrated, though. I've been looking through a lot of posts and have noticed a lot of posts where people complain that nothing is happening or they have stalled or they lost weight and regained it. Anybody have any sustained weight loss going on?
