All this food talk is dangerous- that quorn fillet with tomatoes sounds lovely! Happily got through lunchtime with water and one can of diet coke (I know it's not great for me :oops: , but it really saved me!) so now I hope to be distracted until I can eat my dinner after work...still haven't decided what that will be. I have hummous and bread at home but it's so moreish that I might save it until tomorrow when I don't have to keep to one slice of toast!
NEED HELP - Fasting today and am sitting feeling so hungry! My tummy noises are so loud I swear the other department can hear it! Having a lemon and ginger tea but am desperate for something to eat! I dont want to give in as I get out of here in an hour and a half and then I get my evening meal!!! I need distractions!!!!
Pixielugs I find coffee really helps when I am like that, also lots of water.

Good luck Pixielugs, hunger comes in waves so it may ease off a bit if you just hold on. Dinner is on it's way!
It's not my normal fast day but I'm managing. Stick with it Pixilugs, not long till meal time now. So far today I've had home made roast tomato soup at lunch time and two satsumas. Looking forward to my baked chicken with lots of salad, then that's another one done. It will feel strange being free to eat tomorrow!
Pixilugs - I've got the same problem as you - very loud stomach noises - I actually love the feeling (weird or what !!) :bugeyes: makes me think that my stomach realises what I'm doing and is acknowledging it. It's that feeling that has made me realise what it means to be a little bit peckish (I daren't say hungry as I don't think we truly know what hungry means) - it's my signal for being peckish rather than the bored one of looking round thinking 'hmm I'm bored what shall I eat' type of hungry - Hope you get my drift there. Go with the feeling pixilugs - it's taught me to determine when I should be eating and when maybe need to re-consider !!! Dinnertime soon - homemade green pepper soup to look forward to when I get in - yummy :smile:
I am also starving today. 2nd fast this week. Is it because it's so cold?
Went riding for 2 hours, just having 2nd black tea of afternoon, OH just stuffed a tea-cake and told me about his lunch!! Gotta hang in till me chicken!
I am so hungry too! Put it down to this being an extra fast!

Have had only water and black coffee until I got home about 15 mins ago and had to have a stick of celery and a Babybel light to keep me going until dinner in an hour or so - chilli and a little rice.

Keep going everyone, we can do it!
I'm another "accidental" faster today - had planned to fast tomorrow (only my 2nd fast, the first was on Monday) but due to a very unfortunate series of events, ended up fasting today instead!

What happened was: I got up early and went out for my morning run as planned. Barely ten minutes in, I tripped on a paving slab and went flying. Soon as I staggered to my feet I realised I'd hurt my hand pretty badly. Little finger was sticking out at a very unfortunate angle!

Managed to hobble home, with whole hand gradually starting to seriously hurt. Other half took me to A&E where they gave me some strong painkillers, X-rayed, etc etc. Turned out I dislocated the little finger, as well as breaking it, and the one next to it!

When I got home I just got into bed and slept for about three hours (probably adrenaline come-down plus the painkillers knocked me out!) When I woke up it was past 1pm and I realised I hadn't eaten anything and wasn't really hungry so I thought "oh well, might as well make this my fast day!"

I've had a small banana (to line stomach before next dose of meds) and a couple of cups of tea with milk. Getting hungry now, but sSupper's in just an hour or two: a nice substantial soup for about 350kcal.

So despite a mangled and very painful hand... the day didn't turn out all bad! :wink:
Fasting today. Did my one hour walk at lunch and off to do a few upper body weights later.

Currently on the train and a bloke has just sat opposite me, munching on a toasted sarnie. Smells delicious. I know what I'm having for lunch tomorrow now!

Looking forward to my evening meal...

Started on Monday and it was fine had my first food today at 2-30PM 2 boiled eggs and a piece of toast going for mexican pizza and side salad in half an hour or so enjoying it so far
I am also fasting today. This is my fifth week, today has been the hardest. Hungry all day, after low carb crackers and goats cheese for brekkie. Goulsh soup and salad for lunch, leftover mash potatoes and gravy. Not hungry now, but I was certainly over on my 25% limit.
I also ate some sweet chocolate hazelnuts last might, but ot enough to cause a sugar drop today. :frown:

I really thought it would start to get easier now.......

The first week I lost 2 pounds, second week stayed the same, third week another 1.5 pounds off and last week put on 1 pound.

Feeling a little disheartened, 2 weeks ago I increased my normal eating days to nearer my TDEE and then I put on weight.

Confused.com :cry:

Anyone else having this pattern ?
I'm fasting today and planning to have around 600 cals rather than 500 as I'm struggling to keep to 500 cal limit without wanting to eat loads more food in the evening. The 600 limit is temporary and the aim is to cut the 100 cals over the next couple of fasts while my body adjusts.
Also fasting today... this is my 5th fast overall and the 2nd fast for which I've not eaten anything until dinner time, and I really have been surprised at how much better this works for me!

Both days I've found it surprisingly easy to get through the day without eating anything (until 9pm the first time and 6pm this time) and then, because I've had a decent evening meal, I haven't been tempted to eat extra food in the evening and don't go to bed hungry!

One decent meal at the end of the day is definitely the way forwards for me :)
