Hi all - well I blew my fast yesterday. Had an incident with a couple of cinnamon bagels and some cream cheese lol. That's what I love about this diet though - if you mess up on one day, all is not lost and you can just get back on it the next day. I think I'm going to do ADF till next week as I feel I need a bit of a boost to my weight loss efforts. I've just been planning what I'm going to eat on MFP for the next week - it's such a useful site. Good luck all you Wednesday fasters!
well, I'm not joining you today Esmeralda! Cinnamon bagels sound good though.
Gotta love the flexibility of this WOE. I've contemplated ADF but after reading the monthly results and the lack of extra loss that ADF seems to give for my grouping, I'm not going to bother. Plus, if I fast with one feed day inbetween (like Sunday and Tue) I do find it quite hard, even after all this time.
My daughter arrives today for a fortnight holiday :D and I don't know what to do eating wise. I would like to think I can keep 5:2ing, but there is going to be a lot of eating going on! I won't beat myself up though; I've had my 2 fasts for the week so will see how things are feeling/looking on Sunday next week and will hopefully join you then.

I'm joining the Wednesday fasters. (Usually Tue and Thur, but out and noshing on Thursday, so changed to Mon and Wed instead this week.) OH sticking to the normal days though, so going to roast a couple of chicken breasts when I get home. I'll have mine with roasted cauliflower and steamed broccoli and some gravy, and he'll have the veggies, gravy and some roasted potatoes as well..

I have to get the train to go to my tap class tonight, so will take a can of diet coke (I do know not everyone thinks diet coke is a good idea btw)and it'll save me a fortune on coffee and treat at the station which I usually look forward to on a Wednesday, so that's a good thing! :)

I am fasting today by mistake! It is nearly 6 pm here and I have just got in from a hectic day at work and have only had 230 calories at brekkie this morning so instead of making myself a sandwich because I am hungry have just made a cup of tea instead and will have very lean beef burger and tomato and onion salad for 240 calories this evening. Normally fast Monday and Thursday so it will be nice to have it under my belt this week.
Hi. It's my first day of fasting.Wish me luck. I lasted until 1pm when I ate my 600 calories. It's dinner time now and I am really getting hungry. Then I just noticed that it's the 13th! Unlucky for some. I figure only 12 hours to go until I can eat agan and eight of those I will be asleep. Here's hoping!
If you are desperate The Fishbaum try having a hot drink like a cup of bovril or a fruit or herbal tea. It really helps to plan your fast day calories carefully. My Fitness Pal is really helpful with this. Stick with it and remember that tomorrow you can enjoy eating normally. It does get easier i promise.
Hi everyone, my 3rd fast of the month. I'm at work and for the first time am going to try a cup of boveril at lunchtime.

I did my first day yesterday and it went well, porridge for breakfast 200 cals and a big veggie/pasta salde for tea 300 cals
Got a bit headachy in the afternoon but realised that was because I hadnt had my usual coffee, was drinking herbal tea instead to cut out the milk!

Only real problem was everything on TV last night was about food...great british menu, the fixer (in a chip shop!!!)then masterchef...husband was fantasising about chips!

My top tip would be use lots of raw veg...courgettes seem to have hardly any calories and are good grated up to bulk out a salad

I'm fasting today! I did it Monday, tried it yesterday, failed at around 8pm so back on it today...........feel starving.

I have a question, am i feeling starving this morning because i eat a load of sugary foods last night before bed?

I didn't feel hungry yesterday morning....typical !

Jackdaniels - I have experienced this too. One feed day I ate a lot of chocolate in the evening and the next day which was a fast day I was starving hungry all day. So that was a lesson learnt for me! Hope you feel less hungry as the day goes.
JD almost certainly yes - sugar promotes hunger (which is why processed food is packed with it) which obviously leads to eating more. If possible stay away from highly sugared foods before a fast. Heavy/refined carbs have a similar effect and the combination of the 2...

Fasting with you again today (fast #4), already 2 black decaf & large glass of water down.

Yep me too. Thought i was changing it to Thursday this week as was going to London today but it got cancelled so will stay with normal routine. Shopping a bit low here so may struggle to make soup and salad. Might have to get creative with the zero noodles!!
This is my first week, managed Monday (Day1) no problem and had planned to fast Thursday but have a course where there will be buffet and constant coffee and biscuits breaks so decided to switch to today. Eating all calories in one meal tonight again and started day with a 2.5mile run as this suppresses my appetite first thing. New computer system going live at work today so should be kept busy. Here's hoping. Have a great day everybody. :grin:
Jack Daniels, take days between fasts. You're obviously hungry, try to adjust into this slowly rather than bashing your head against a brick wall, day after day.

You DID fast most of yesterday and Monday, so you started eating earlier, you did the hard yards.

I feel you're setting yourself up for failure, get a better plan before you start and use the mantra of "I can eat whatever it is, tomorrow." a lot. I do eat whatever it is I want the next day, if I can remember what it was and I've not cheated on a fast once and I'm 10 weeks in, with fasting every other day and I have NO willpower. So it's doable...

I'm fasting today and have an exercise class at 12.30, not sure what I'm eating. Decided to go 4:3 from next week to shake things up a bit and so I'm not a diet bore at the w/e's.
Joining you today, ate too much yesterday tummy is not happy, that will teach me. Good luck and have a nice day
