Fasting Today 14 March

Again, setting out to take it seriously today.
Monday's went quite well an sneaky peek on scales showed a slight slope downwards and something off the waist...
Got a whole load of writing to do...always have but hope to get stuck in and stop thinking only about food. if the weather is as sunny as yesterday, shall pop out for a stroll around the village.
Happy fasting to you all.

Morning everyone! Second fast day (first was Monday) at the beginning of my 5:2 lifestyle. Ate normally past couple of days and indeed appetite is considerably less and my palate wasn't driven by a need to eat sugary or starchy foods. Feeling remarkably better with more energy and no bloating. Spotted the Hairy Dieters book yesterday and picked up a copy. Lovely recipes which really focus on flavour anf texture unlike the run-of-the-mill diet cookbooks. So lots of hot water with a dash of lemon juice today to keep me nicely hydrated and then a hearty supper of Golden Vegetable Soup followed by Paprika Chicken and rice with a few calories to spare courtesy of the new cookbook. Have a great day if you are fasting today too.

Happy fasting to you, too! It is my second week and I am quite motivated as I lost 6 lbs the first week. I'm aware that most if it is water, nonetheless, I will take what I can!! This day of fasting will be more difficult as I will be home all day with the kids. If it doesn't snow, I may go out for a walk like you to keep me out of the kitchen! Or maybe even go shovel the snow! I already made my supper, a curry lentil one pot wonder. New recipe, hope it 's good!

My second fast of the week. Very inspired today - I've done my trousers on the tighter setting today and they're comfy! !

Had some merringue and wine last night so not the best start to a fast, but such a beautiful day I'm feeling very confident.

Good luck to everyone today

Hi,

My second day of fasting is almost over ....Australian time ....and I have stuffed up I think and had too many calories for dinner.

Had a bit too much dhal with my salad ....won't be massively over but I think I need to be more careful weighing things.

Any good luck everyone else.

Good Morning Thursday Fasters

My 12th Fast, and looking forward to it, the sun is shining so even though it's freezing I'm going to try and do some things outside today.
I've run out of my vegetable soup so I'll get a big pot of that going well before 2pm which is my hungry time.
Dinner is another Waitrose Love Life dish for me and various freezer offerings for the rest of the family.

Good Luck everyone

Morning fellow Thursday fasters! I had a disappointing eating day yesterday, so I'm really looking forward to today's fast! I'll be having the same as I did on Tuesday, as I have half leftover (half a banananana with egg white for a pancake breakfast, with a handful of blueberries, ratatouille with slim pasta for dinner, I'll try to just have a miso soup at lunchtime)

Lunchtime activity will be a trip to the sports store to pick up some running accessories, and evening activity is Scottish dance class.

Just finished my fast, so that's 6 weeks. Dinner was a huge plate of stir fry veggies and steak. I like to eat one meal at night so I'm not so hungry when trying to sleep. Keep strong all fasters today.

I'm in today as well. I made a pot of Hairy Dieters Chilli last night so Ill have the leftovers with a large salad tonight. I've had a really sweet tooth with a lot of mindless eating this week so when I'm off tomorrow I'll plan some healthier meals for next week and do some soup making. I really must get more veg in me.

First (and only) fast of the week, and already 12+hours in since I had nothing after 8 last night. Starting with green tea so I don't get a caffeine withdrawal headache as I can't stand normal tea without milk.
First fast since last Monday, cos of illness so wish me luck!
Good luck to all my fellow fasters, stay strong x

Hi everyone this is my 2nd fast of week 3 I am doing it a little different as I struggled with Mondays fast, I am skipping breakfast its against all my beliefs but I have noticed most seem to be better saving the calories until the evening, not sure if I will be able to do that but at least lunch time and I will have a cup a soup. Good luck to all those Thursday fasters

Hi Carol, I've only done 10 weeks fasting, which is nothing compared to others on here, but I definitely agree that skipping breakfast is the best way to go. The earlier you eat, the earlier your stomach starts expecting food, and it's easier to distract yourself during the day than at night when you're trying to get some sleep!
Hope it goes well, good luck :-)
