I made it! With 6 cals to spare. Mid afternoon was horrid but I was on here reading everyone's updates for today's fast. Nearly caved in when dear daughter offered me a Percy pig jelly sweet. But resisted and had a herbal tea instead. Off to bed feeling smug. Many thanks to all who posted today. Really kept me going in my first fast
Hi QueenB well done and it really does get easier
Diet fail alert, came back from the gym starving and had already eaten just under my 500 cal goal. Just eaten 4 mushrooms, a cup of spinach and a slice of Turkey. Could have been worse but cross at myself as could have been better and stuck to the fast!
Had my dinner of courgette "spaghetti" Bolognese followed by small dish of fresh pineapple that needed eating. Seems to be around 450 altogether (I just estimate calories, which has worked for me so far). Now DS is sitting next to me eating a 5 minute chocolate mug cake he has made himself (and he had real spaghetti too). Smells delicious but I'm not tempted to break the fast. I told him I'm having a healthy eating day twice a week when I don't eat any carbs so I can't ask for a bite now anyway!
8th fast day on this plan..finding it surprisingly easy to get through fast days during the week. I'm a busy guy and not eating lunch at work isn't an issue. Going home and having 500cal for dinner feels like (and is a) real meal. Have done two fast days on the weekend--way more difficult for me. Did it, but felt really long. Down around 8lbs since I've started... Still loving it. Finding myself a bit of an evangelist for this plan. Almost seems too easy. Waiting for the catch. ;)
Fasting today and it's going very well. Only thing is I can't seem to get warm, so started the fire.
Yay Monday fast nearly done- been a hard 1 today, getting hungry by 11am is a bad sign! Now realised that I didn't eat enough yesterday- no breakfast, steak lunch with pud down the pub with cheese and crackers for a snack- sounds loads tho mind! Have had nearly 800 cala today, oops, I could have eaten a scabby horse when got back in from training tonight, so I added a small chicken thigh to my veggy curry. Was worried I'd start eating everything in sight, but think the slightly larger than planned meal stopped me going nuts in the cupboards!

Onwards and downwards eh? :) hope all fellow Monday fasters had a good one today

Jude
Didn't fast last week for one reason or another, but have had a successful day today....Thursday is my next fast......can't even remember what number fast this is...feeling peckish now, so probably time for bed. :like:
Fasting today has been fine, but coming home to a kitchen in the midst of a renovation with no real plan for supper was a bad idea. Popcorn sprinkled with nutritional yeast counts for supper, right? ;-) Ah, well. I'm at or near my calories for the day, so I'll count that as a success, and plan better for my next fast (Wednesday).
Well I did it,off to bed now - hardest fast yet & so cold.Would like to say thanks to everyone who posts on the forum - reading your stories & advice really helped me through a bad day.Thank you all
Due to time zone constraints I always seem to be starting my fast while others are ending theirs...nevertheless it is still Monday here. Started off with some watery gruel for breakfast topped with organic strawberries (rather tasteless though) and had coffee and kombucha during the day. Will plan to heat up some quick soup after my swim this evening. We'll see if I manage to lose any pounds this week...last week apparently not despite my 2 fasting days...still I'm feeling trimmer about the waist so I shan't complain.
Hi all, 15th fast day almost over, 7lbs lost so far & first post here. I've already dropped to a lower weight than I've been in the last 5-years. Can't quite believe the pound-a-week weight loss will continue - but if it does I'll be leaving overweight for the top of 'normal' range by mid-April. It feels really good to know there are so many others out there battling away on the 500cals. Going to bed now, looking forward to breakfast already! Good luck to everyone whose Monday isn't yet over.
What a fast day. I lost my car keys (seriously lost) and was blocking someone in so had to pay £125 to have a replacement made and obviously couldn't go anywhere in the meantime (which was several hours i.e. all day). Later I had an unexpected visit from my ex husband last seen 25 years ago! He talked incessantly about himself and showed me endless photos of him and his family. During this time a taxi co. rang to say they'd found my keys. They now no longer work because the replacement deactivates the original.
All this on 500 cals and no alcohol.
Fasting day three for me. Lunch blackberries, kale, blackbeans. Snack Apple. Dinner tonight will be more kale and some lentil soup. I'm sticking to pretty much the same foods on my fast day, just to make it easier. I'm also using loseit.com to track on fast day, but not on eat days. The blackbeans give me the energy to make it through the work day. I try not to go into the work kitchen the counter today is laden with cinnamon rolls, cupcakes, cookies, and potato salad (not sure where that potato salad came from, but it looked good.

What are some of you eating for lunch of fast days?

...what a day! (Just keep repeating the mantra "it's only 1 day". :dazed: Hope next time around goes much better.
