Fasting today untill around 18:30 then a chicken stir-fr...looking forward to that!
Very hungry today - something to do with being up since 6 maybe? So far I have only had a couple of black coffees, some water and a fruit tea! Nearly caved in to some toast but will do my best to hang on until my Hairy Dieters Spanish Chicken at around 6 which I am very much looking forward to!!
Just ate a very small apple it will take me slightly over the 500 calories with my planned meal for this evening, but Im not too worried about that, does anyone else go over sometimes ?
Yes I do... Will probably do the same today too as I've just had a slice of ham on ww brown bread, I think it's the cold it makes me want to comfort myself with food. And the days seem to drag on longer too!

Doent worry about it. If its what keeps you going .
Also fasting today. Week 9 and 19th Fast Day. I've been eating normally on normal days and am losing weight (just over a stone), even though at weekends we indulge a little. Baguette, a bit of cheese, scones (only one weekend!) but I actually think our stomachs have shrunk and we don't eat as much as we used to. We're ( yes my OH is also on it but slightly less rigidly ) certainly more aware of what's going onto our plates and into our mouths these days.

Carol - it probably doesn't matter if it helps you stick with it but on Fast Days I do my best not to exceed the 500 cals- it's a psychological thing and helps me stick with the plan, otherwise they cal count will start creeping up and up and up!

I'm hoping to reach my target weight by June and need to be pretty strict with myself to achieve it doing only 5:2.
Doing my first "one sleep" fast Sunday night throgh Monday. Going to cousins for dinner tonight, so I was trying to figure out how to make it work with Monday/Thursday fasting. So, I had a light meal with my family last night and I am fasting today (with some small items throughout the day to hold me to dinner). I am trying to stave off the headache by drinking lots of water. So far so good.

It's my fourth fasting day and I have dropped three stubborn pounds in those two weeks.
I can't believe this is the start of week 8. It seems to come naturally to think of Monday as my fast day now and I intend to continue on 6:1

I have felt more hungry than usual today, perhaps because it is so cold, so I had some homemade vegetable soup at lunchtime and there will be a small piece of chicken and stir fry veggies for supper.
My 5th fast today! :)
Been looking forward to it as ate a lot of cheesecake over the weekend :P
Allieg, it's my first fast day too! Ate last night with family, roast chicken dinner. Had a two egg omelette for lunch today post gym today, black coffee, herbal teas. Am now feeling a bit wobbly, slight headache too. Still an hour till dinner!!! Which will be skinless chicken breast, stir fry veggies with a splash of soy, chilli and garlic. Sipping on herbal tea as I write this. Just an hour, just an hour............. :)

Weirdly though I don't actually FEEL hungry. Go figure?
I am fasting today, it is my 3rd fast day. I almost didn't do it because I had just finished a Flu and had a lingering cough before I started this, and this weekend it seems to have completely relapsed. I am blaming it on Spring allergies but I am having a horrible stuffy runny nose and my cough has worsened. I feel like I have seen a couple of posts about people getting ill after they started fasting. Any advice? Should I keep up with it or stop until I am in full health?
I am fasting today! This will be my 3rd fast day, though my second was less successful than my first. I'm going to try Monday/Thursday as fasting on a Friday left me feeling very deprived. In our little family unit, Friday begins our weekend and we usually cuddle up to movies, a 'fun' supper and popcorn. I tried to keep supper light and saved all my calories for supper, but still went over my 500. We'll see how Monday/Thursday works. :)

I love this forum. Just coming here to read other's stories helps motivate me!
Hi
First day for me too. Had half a pizza last night for tea at 7pm. Had small beeakfast this morning and although i don't feel as hungry as i thought i do have a headache...does this ease with fast days?
Hi everyone and welcome to those who are joining the 5:2 woe.
I've had a small pear and 10 almonds so far today, still finding it easiest to leave eating until as late as possible, avoid switching on the 'hunger' button!!
Having M&S count on us veg moussaka for dinner tonight - can't wait!!
See you all on Thursday before the Easter binge x
Had poached egg & asparagus for lunch and sirloin steak warm salad for dinner, both recipes from the book. Not noticed the hunger at all today. :victory:
A minestrone cup-a-soup at lunchtime and just had a very small portion of homemade vegetable chilli & rice. Gallons of water throughout the day and in front of the telly tonight I am looking forward to a glass of Tesco no sugar cherry coke! :like: This is my 15th fast day so far and I make sure I am super-busy throughout the day so don't really notice any hunger pangs until it's time for an early night!
Keep up all the good work guys!!
