Fasting today? Monday 8th April
07 Apr 2013, 22:18
Popping in early to start the Monday fast thread and Mondays are always busy. I've got a bit stuck in the last couple of weeks, disrupted by Easter then had to change my days around. I would love to get below 13 st soon and see the scales read 12 something, so ready to go for it. Good luck Monday fasters.
Will be in the morning by which time our Oz pals will be nearly done. :-)
I'll be with you in the morning! Yeah, the Aussies will be well on their way by then, but the Americans will be waiting in the wings...
See you in the morning, and good luck everyone! :clover:
Hello, I am glad I found this forum and that someone has posted for today. I am doing my 2nd fast today. I read the book last Wednesday. I was sold and fasted Thursday. That was easy and cheating really as I had to have eye surgery on that say, so I had to fast anyway. So today is the first Real fast. I had a small bowl of muesli and a fig for breakfast and a cup of black tea. I'm excited and happy about trying this strategy. I won't call it a diet.
Hi all today fasters. Its 9.00am where I am in Australia. I've been to the gym now at work with a cup of coffee so thats breakfast. Have a Mexican Chilli Bean soup from the River Cottage Veg book waiting at home for my dinner.
Perfect Autumn day here, 23 and Sunny.
Good luck to all, guess I should actually go and do some work.
I have started to really look forward to the Monday fast, it feels good after the weekend to start the day without eating. Having black coffee at the moment and trying to decide what to cook for dinner tonight. I have ordered the Hairy Dieters cookbook and am looking forward to trying out the recipes in that.

Good luck Gillb and all my fellow Monday fasters!
It's still yesterday in Canada. But when today (Monday) comes, I will be doing my 10th fast. I will postpone food until mid-afternoon; likely blueberies. Fish and veggies for supper. Husband will likely have left-over ham.
I like that my pants (trousers) are getting baggy.
Have a good Monday, all fasters.
Hi, another Aussie checking in. I've just had the food dehydrator I ordered arrive, so I have some apple dehydrating now, and am activating some nuts to dry later - and tomorrow, I can eat them!
Last fast, I changed my 1 meal from dinner to lunch, and it worked really well for me, so think I"ll do that again today. That'll mean two 18 hour fasts rather than a 24 and a 12.
Fasting today - feels good to be back on the Monday fasts - have had a bit of a break over the past 2 weeks as went on holiday to Vegas. havent been on the scales but am hoping that I avent done too much damage - managed to have one fast a week for the past 2 weeks. Managed to squeeze into a pair of 30in jeans which was AMAZING!!! Defo going to keep this WOE up - it just WORKS!!
Still "yesterday" here too. And when "today" comes to Colorado we will be joining Monday's fast. Also weigh day.
I'm also fasting today - and am doing it for the very first time.
Feeling a bit unsure as to how i will go, as i'm not usually good with diets. After hearing about the success that everyone else has had i'm hopeful. Wish me luck

About to have a coffee to keep me going, while i work out what i will eat (or not) for the rest of the day.

It's a lovely sunny day here in Sydney - i think I will go for a walk to take my mind off things.

Good luck to everyone else
Welcome wizzywig! I find that coffee and lots of water keep me going until dinner time when I have my 500 calories. It might take a few fasts to find what works best for you, and that's the beauty of this way of eating: you can easily fit it into whatever your lifestyle might be. Good luck and let us know how you get on! :clover:
Still Sunday night here but mentally gearing up for my April 8 fast. This will be my third fast day, so I am still a newbie. Sunday is my weigh day and I lost a pound since starting a week ago. I have a very busy planned for Monday which I am sure will be a big help.
1.20pm in Sydney now - sun gone looks like rain about to land...bummer :>) I am fasting today (first time on a Monday) after a weekend of eating and drinking like a beast, really fancied not eating after all that food...in fact I couldn't even finish my veggie soup for breakfast! Funny I am starting to like black coffee after hating it - like others I find it really gets me through and soon I'll be home, walk my dogs (hopefully not in the rain) and then by the time we get back it will be dinner and another fast completed. Wow.
First time Monday faster here too. Usually do a Sunday, but it was a heavy long day so opted to do Monday when I'm travelling instead. Good luck to all, just starting, still to start and nearly finished.
