Hello, I'm with you all today. Looking forward to my fast today. Going shopping for groceries after my run so just working out this week's menu. It's funny but I don't mind looking through recipes and so on even on a fasting day, though I make sure I cook my favourite meals on the days I'm not fasting and cook something I'm not keen on for everyone else on my fasting days!
Third fast day for me. Jumped on scales & have gone from 12st to 11 st 11.6lb. I am so pleased & quite shocked as had weighed myself both sat & Sun morning & my weight has stayed the same, even though I ate normally over the weekend. Woohoo! Go 5:2!!! Good luck Monday fasters. Hope we can keep the hunger quiet today. X
I'm fasting today. Having a prawn salad for lunch - with 2oz of prawns (weighed when frozen). Does anyone know of a good light salad cream or dressing. I only have salad cream which is about 30 calories per tbsp
Usual Monday fast for me today and first weigh in for two weeks, only a lb down but considering its the holidays and Easter has come and gone I'm quite pleased! Taking stock a bit today as I began on 8th January so I'm 3 months in and over a stone lost, found myself being a little frustrated recently with progress being slow but thinking about it this morning I've realised I haven't felt deprived for 3 months, I have a far cleaner house (replace eating with chores on a Monday/thurs), I've begun addressing my eating habits although this is going to take a while, I've learnt discipline and more about how my body works and deals with hunger and this is the longest time I've maintained a diet for! Can't see myself stopping anytime soon and looking forward to the next stone lost in 3 months time! For all the first day fasters with a journey ahead like me, we can do this and a year from now we'll be the 5:2 pioneers! :victory:
6.30 pm here in Sydney and just about to pop my salmon fillet in the oven to enjoy with a big plate of veggies. Found today really easy as I was busy at work all day and was thrilled when I got home to be told by my super slim 21 year old daughter "you look skinny". The three words that every woman lives to hear. Not "I love you" but "you've lost weight"!
Morning all :)
Another week, another fast. Like Gill, I've also been stuck the last couple of weeks, what with Easter, hubby's birthday celebrations, a family gathering and having been poorly. Glad to at least have maintained - but hoping for a loss this week despite TOTM!

Feeling a bit lonely today. Hubby was home most of the last 2 weeks poorly, now he's back at work and the house feels so quiet. The weekend went too quickly and I really just want an extra day or two with him. Crazy really, normally I love having the house to myself.

Well, will have to keep busy with work, cleaning fish tanks and hopefully a bit of time to continue development of the new recipe section.

Good luck to all my fellow Monday fasters :D
First EVER faast day today, in work trying not to think about food! Had my porridge in work this morning and have emergency carrots on standby, already a litre of water down and feeling ok!

Fingers crossed i can get through kids home from school, dinner time and bath time!
Good luck everyone fasting today
Morning all, and hello to all the newcomers!

Sallyo, can I ask what your eye surgery was? I had laser surgery over 10 years ago, and my husband had lens replacement done 2 years ago.

I was due to have a meeting with my boss this morning, and was dreading the tummy rumbles during it - but he's off sick so it's been rearranged.

I had Fage 0% greek yoghurt with berries from breakfast, am deciding which lo-cal soup to have for lunch, and tea will be the chicky-leeky soup I made last week, and froze extra portions.

I was at a food market yesterday and bought some dulse, an Irish dried seaweed, so I'm going to nibble on that during the day. And last night I went to see the Hairy Bikers live stage show, and got a signed copy of their dieters book - I usually fast on days that husband and I are eating different meals, but I think this book will be great for the odd days when we are eating together on a fast day.
My first fast today :) Feeling positive though only a few hours in!
Fasting today as had far too many chocolate brownies over the weekend! No food in the fridge so will have to go shopping for tonight's dinner at some point. I'm going to have a cup of coffee and browse the hairy dieters book for inspiration and write a list so my trip to the supermarket is controlled!

Melanie...I've been trying to work it out but what IS "chikcy-leejy soup"? Chicken and leek? Or some exotic Irish soup I've not heard of?!
My third fast today :) because I only started last week, I fasted on Tuesday and Thursday, but I intend to fast on Mondays and Thursdays in future. I'm a bit hungry today, but I have a busy day at work, and then I have to take my car over to the garage, so hopefully I won't notice it too much!
I'm looking forward to today's fast #16, Good Luck Everyone.
27th fast since starting on 7th January.. Due to my schedule this week it is a dreaded 'double fast' - ie Monday AND Tuesday...on't enjoy these, but no choice this week
Blame my clumsy fingers - I meant to type "chicky-leeky" (I've edited it now)

It's my take on cock-a-leekie soup, basically a chicken breast, leeks, half a turnip and some mushrooms in chicken stock.
Ah ha!! Sounds great! Think I am going to try one of the Hairy Dieters' chicken dishes tonight. Not sure which so I've put the ingredients for everything on my list!
