My husband and I are fasting today. We're not counting the number of fasts any more, (It was giving me brain-ache trying to keep track!) but we are just entering our eleventh week of this WOE.

I don't find the all-day fasting difficult - as long as I keep busy - but my husband gets a bit grumpy from mid-afternoon until dinner time. When I offer him something from his calorie allowance he refuses unless I eat too! As I'm not prepared to do that, he remains hungry and grumpy!

Fasting today too....Monday is weigh in day for me as well...ooops stood on scales and am a pound up :oops: ....deserved to be...too much rubbish in the house since Easter and constantly grazed!!...had a quick sneaky weigh mid week and was 2 pounds down and I think it gave me false hope that I could graze on rubbish and get away with it...well I cannt !!!!
So positive attitude today,,onwards and upwards...errrr that should be onwards and downwards!!! lol

This will be fast day #9. So far just had 2 mugs black coffee, and will have veg. Oxo for lunch. Tonight is leftover meat from yesterday - in a tagine-style rechauffée with chickpeas and couscous - OH will have most of the meat, but there is enough to give me a taste, which is all I'll want today.
Hi all, I too am fasting today. I weighed in this morning and had lost 3 and a half pounds over the previous week so was really happy with that. Only had coffee and water so far, hot and spicy soup for lunch and then ocean pie with a bowl of jelly for dinner. Yum. I love this way of eating, I don't think of it as a diet any more!

StowgateResident - you and I are both starting Week 11 and I am on my 23rd fast day. It's sooooo cold again today and it doesn't help. Always feel chilly anyway on a fast day.
My total loss is 7.3 kgs and so fr today I've had one mug of tea with skimmed milk, one fruit tea and three glasses of water. Lunch will be a mug of soup an maybe a couple of ryvita with a smearing of light philli. I think a brisk, well wrapped up and not too lengthy dog walk is called for this afternoon and tonight we will happily devour a Love Life Fish Pie between us (OH is doing it too) and green veggies.
Good luck to everyone. It is SO worth it when your clothes start feeling baggier and people start to notice!
I'm fasting today as well. Day 2 for me. I managed reasonably well on saturday, so hoping today goes as well for me. Just been on the coffee this morning, but plan on having a cuppa soup for lunch. Good luck everyone.
Hi all. Fasting today as well. weighed in this morning as usual and had put on a pound but I only did one fast last week due to hols and yesterday I didnt get any exercise at all. Sat in car for 3 hours ,had pub luch and did nothing on return home. Not even had to cook so hey ho not really a surprise! Couple of spoons of you and black coffe this morning, miso soup for lunch. prob a couple of oxo drinks through afternoon and than chicken stir fry for dinner.I love this way of eating and dont find it a hardship although my husband who does this as well isnt so keen but preserveres. :grin:
My husband and I are joining you today. Coffee with small bowl cereal, half a banana in the afternoon then small tortillas with chicken, salsa and lettuce ( I can have 2 and my husband can have 3-4 ). Good luck out there ! Snow and cold coming to Colorado tonight :victory:

The scales were not kind to me this morning so really need to get back on track after Easter. Glad to know so many of us are fasting today.
Its week 13 for us. We dont count the number of fast days nor do we count calories on "feast" days. Just plain 5:2 like the good Doctor says. Thanks to Caroline for the Monthly tracker - I was really pleased to see my waist had shrunk by 3cms. Everyone stay positive!
I'm fasting today. The way my week works out I will be going to a neighbours house tonight where a group of us will be having a chinese takeaway to celebrate her birthday. I thought I would take a bowl of cauliflower rice with me and try and stick to a couple of low cal dishes. I was thinking od mixed veg, chicken and mushroom, beef and green beans or broccoli. Any advice or suggestions? :?:
Yes, starting this week off with our fast. Looking forward to it, it fact. Today is my 5th fast day with a large holiday in there where I consumed lots of piña coladas and painkillers, though I did eat my wheat free diet. At the start of my fast i weighed 224.5 (march 18). After 2 fasts I weighed 217 and was very excited. After the trip I weighed 220.5. After fasting I weighed 216! Had the weekend with lots of wine, so probably not a great scale day, but looking forward to a slimmer tomorrow. I'm thinking wheat belly by Davis and this fasting diet in combo are the way to go for me.
I am starting today, having spent the morning browsing about the 5 2 diet. I have put on a massive amount of weight during the years, been on countless diets and still have been unable to ditch the weight. My blood pressure is very high and the doctor has prescribed medication which I don't like taking. I really don't have an option - I've got to lose the weight! I was attracted to this diet by the idea that you only have to think about it on the fast days, and I think I'll be able to fit it in with my lifestyle. I'd love to hear how people get on.
Hi everyone, fasting today (Mon/Wed/Fri).
Into week six. Doing 4/3.
I now save my calories from lunch for a decent 400-500 evening meal.
Less weighing,measuring calculating...and my body is coping well too.
Any spare calories goes towards a fruit salad dessert.

Hi everyone. I'm fasting today too.
Just had coffee (with milk as I just couldn't face black this morning) and water, feeling great on it.
Have a nice pan of butternut squash, carrot and sweet potato soup ready for my mid-afternoon meal and that's all I'll have today. Well under my 400cal limit.
