I'm fasting today too. Few almonds for breakfast miso soup later then salmon and loads of veg for dinner. Tuesday fast was good in the end. I had forgotton how good it feels to stick it out and not cheat and even better I lost the 3lb I had put on  which means most of it was water I guess. :?:

Morning All,

I'm in. 6th week, fast number 12. Wearing my favourite skirt that was too tight 6 weeks ago, it is now loose enough for me to get my hands inside the waistband (apologies if that's tmi)

Just having my customary green tea, water and bovril all day and one meal tonight but I have realised that my TDEE is (to my mind) very low, so will really be counting tonight's calories on MFP. Thanks to Moogie for that wake up call!!

Will have fish and salad for dinner and hopefully enough left for a 10 calorie jelly and a 40 calorie hot chocolate before bed. I think dinner tonight is going to be challenging. Am thinking of joining Wildmissus and co on their 36er fluid fasting regime as I'm not sure I can be doing with counting 300 odd calories for dinner. Seems so low it's hardly worth the trouble

Good luck everyone :clover:

I am fasting today too. No more reaching into the naughty tin! Having just come off the scales and realizing that I have not lost anymore weight since last time, I am now determined to make this way of eating a success. Usually I have nothing to eat until teatime but have had half a teacup size of fat free yogurt with one pineapple ring for breakfast to keep those hunger pangs at bay!
I am now going food shopping. My hub is also doing the same days and with just one teenager at home now, I am shopping less. We are not eating as much bread or cheese so the larder lasts longer. We are slowing on cereals too apart from oats. I just need to top up on fruit, veg and fish.
Enjoy your fasting days and savoir  your feasting days everyone!

I'm fasting today. It's about fast number 11 - I'm losing count, but loving it. I've been rereading Dr Mosley's science bits in his book, and have decided to try to do with just one meal this evening to try to get the benefits of a longer fast. (Hope the milk in a cup of tea this morning doesn't undermine that - I was asleep at the time!) So far OK, but I do usually need breakfast, so time will tell.

I'm fasting too, on my usual day. Feeling really rough though - woke up with my head feeling about 50lbs on its own and a very sore throat. Nose is constantly dripping and I'm in that "I feel I need to sneeze and I'm getting ready for the release and then the feeling passes" phase of this cold right now. This fast would be so much easier if I could just crawl back into bed where I belong!

And yep, I too will be indulging in a bit of masochism later - I have to make cakes this evening for my daughter's school's May Fair at the weekend, and before that to attend a talk at my son's school where there will be wine and nibbles. I find though that it isn't that difficult to resist temptation on fast days. I just don't know how I'm going to fit everything in this evening plus the half hour on the bike I do every night at home.

Happy fasting everyone.

Yesterday was going to be my first ever fast day but my mom (who's doing it with me) wanted to wait until today so here I am! I have had a cup of tea and a satsuma for breakfast then hoping to have a mushroom thingy for lunch and a stuffed pepper for tea.

So far I'm coping ok! I also weighed myself this morning for the first time in ages and it was very nice to see I haven't put any weight on, not even when I spent four days in Amsterdam doing nothing but drinking beer! So that's given me some good motivation. More than anything though I hope it works for my mom, she tries so so hard to lose weight and nothing works, and the health benefits associated with this are just the icing on the cake. I'm going to make her watch the Horizon documentary later to give her some motivation =) (I'd get her on here but she never sits down, always too busy!)

I'm in too. Its a breezy day in London town today.
Going back to small breakfast (Hard boiled Egg, half a grapefruit, coffee) and moderate dinner (haven't decided what yet) after a few weeks of no breakfast, teeny lunch and larger dinner.
We'll see how it goes - the beauty of 5:2 is its flexibility...
Have a good one folks!

5:2 should work out for your Mom, Nikkijane, fingers crossed.

Had a great fast day. About to go to bed but just wanted to pass on the different breakky I had which was great for 'on the run'. I hard boiled 3 eggs the night before then cut them in half and the ate the whites in the morning (3x17 cals=51 cals). Sounds a bit wierd but I liked it and it filled me up for about 4 hours.
Don't worry. The yolks did not go to waste. I mashed them up with mayo, put it on a bread roll and gave it to my very happy, empty legged 6ft 2inch 16 year old son.
