Yes my 2nd of the week as well, I find delaying eating anything until lunchtime my best way of doing things, if I can last out until 2 'ish' then it's easy (for me).
Beans on toast for lunch today, banana about 5pm then out this evening busy, so no munchies.

See how I feel tomorrow, might slip another one in, I'm out and about all day tomorrow so could be an easy day for a 3rd one.
Been in Cologne for the last 3 days at a trade fair. For the first time in my life (it's true!) I didn't finish ANY meal (totally unheard of for me) but I still put on 1,5kg, curry wurst & kölsch are NOT good for the figure!

Customers here tomorow & Friday, bank holiday Monday, followed by more customers Tuesday ......... is there no end to these bad influences ? :(
Ooooooh! I am constantly thinking about fooooooooooood - actually sweet things. Week 3, 5th fast day. I lost a fair bit first week, not sustained second week due to air travel here ( Bali) and back (Australia) plus Mothers Day and an anniversary dinner. Planned to go out walking but weather turned and I really should get back to work but all I can think of is sweets to eat.
This is exactly the trap I am in, cravings for sugar. Read the journal articles on it, but understanding a little bit more does NOT take away the cravings.
This is worse than giving up smoking!!!
Today I have had one egg and a Yakult for breakfast. Easy. Cooked my own lunch of veggies less than 2 cups, 2 dessert spoonfuls of white rice and another egg. At 3pm my cravings started. Have the veggies ready for dinner for 6pm. After that I am ok. It's just NOW that I could seriously rob a deli at gunpoint.
My TDEE is around 1500 and fast day is 370 calories.
Anyone else go through this mental anguish???
This is not hunger, this is purely stuffing my face with delicious cakes, chocolates etc.
HELP!
Every day, Msterious. Every day.
I haven't quite worked out all the kinks yet, but just try and remember that you only have to make it through today. Don't think about later - just now.
Hi Annie

With that food it will surely be water retention too due to the salt and spices..imagine if you DID finish all your meals how much it would have been then. You need to look at the other accomplishments as well, like saying NO to a full meal, not only weight. It's great well done!
I'm in! First full week on 5:2 (did 1 fast last week) and feeling good. Quite like the Monday/Wednesday attitude as the fasting element is over halfway through the week!

I've been naughty and not exercising recently - are most people who are seeing big losses exercising at the same time? If so do you exercise on fast days? I'm going to attempt to get out of bed and hit the gym tomorrow morning to get myself back into it!
I'm in today too! Going for a 1 meal a day fast for the first time (this eve) as woke up a bit late today!! It is also my second consecutive fast of the week (although I did go over my calories yesterday)
Been on for over 7 weeks now - so my 16th fast! I don't mind them - but am stagnating! Only lost 4lb in the first week and then put it back on and off again...not much inch loss either - although I have started running for 30mins 3 times a week...........

hey ho!
Istacy88, some are exercising, some not, some lose, some don't- not very helpful! There are threads on exercising on fast days which you'll be able to find using the search function. I've started exercising again and am managing on fast days too. I find the day after a fast day harder. Hit that gym!
Seriously , give it a go, see how you feel and take it from there.
Second ever fast.....I'm fasting today instead of tomorrow as I'm off to the cinema tomorrow night and cannot resist choccies while I watch a film!! I was so shocked this morning after spending a small fortune on flavoured Volvic water to find ITS GOT SUGAR and therefore blumming calories!! CHECK YOUR LABELS FOLKS GRRRRRR!!! It's my own stupid fault :(
Count me in. After a week of not even watching what I was eating I will do my best to stick to my fast!
Good luck to all!!!
Welcome back TML13! Glad to have you back with us!
Here are some foods other than grapes which in small doses are helping me get to sleep on fast days: oatmeal, honey, wholegrain bread, peanut butter, hummus, dark choccy :like: bananas. And of course, warm milk. I'm told turkey and cherries do the trick, too.
I'm in! My 5th fast. Normally I fast Mondays and Thursdays, but this week required some shifting around, so I fasted Sunday and am fasting today.

Last week I did 2 36 hour liquid fasts and it was much easier than I had expected. On Sunday I saved my calories for a meal in the evening. Today I have a chickpea soup started in the slow cooker. So, I will save my calories for the evening and join my family eating the soup (and probably skipping any bread). If I feel great, I'll skip it and go for the 36 hours, but I'm not feeling pressure to do so.

Hope you all are having an easy fast and a good day!
Thannks janeg! I might try and do some burpees tonight as some quick but quite intensive exercise, then hit the gym tomorrow (after breaking my fast with a banana or something)!

My fear isn't necessarily hunger, mine is fainting. So exercising on little food has always been my biggest worry. But I've got enough fat on me for my body to use instead of eating, so hopefully I'll get used to it!
Thank you, Caroline! It's good to be back, it gives me a feeling of "normality"!
