Well it's after 7pm & so far so good. Only had herbal tea & bouillon at work so going to try & go for 36 hour liquid fast. During the day at work is ok - don't feel hungry but starting to struggle now - very woolly headed - was meant to be going to pub quiz tonight lol but cancelled -think will just have early night.
Don't think I could do this twice a week ( only my second time) - respect to all you liquid fasters.

Mariposa - well done on weight loss today :star:

Hi everyone! I've been absent for a couple of days - been up to my eyes. I didn't even get a chance to weigh in at the weekend, although I reckon I either gained or stayed the same so am just going to wait until Friday before I weigh again.

I'm water fasting today. This week should be more 'normal' so hopefully will get time to keep up with this rapidly moving thread! Amazing how many people are liquid fasting now and reaping the rewards. Not to say dinghy sailing, roller derbying, cricketing, gardening and the rest! An inspirational lot!!

Anyone juice fasting? I'm keen to give that a go after watching Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead. Would like to do a few days (3/4) with just juice, but reasonable calories - like around 1,000 or something like that each day. Need to look into it more but haven't had a chance yet.

Me too
Just home from pilates! Went out at 5:45 walked there, an hour at pilates, a long walk home along the path at the top of the beach then up the river and then that's where I stopped for an hour. The swans on the river had their cygnets last Wednesday, all nine of them. The bloke who 'looks after them', is a friend and he took me down onto the riverbank where the parents and babies were feeding. I got some lovely photos and the cygnets are just lovely. Needless to say food just didn't come into my mind, although we did consider that the cygnets would make nice gloves. I am cold now however so I'm going for a soak in the bath and will see if I can persuade OH to make me a cup of tea. Another successful fast.
Hi
Its 6:30am down under and I just have to 8am and I be through my 2nd 36hr liquid successfully. Hoping a cuppa will cure my headache . Otherwise await results but hey whatever whistling as I go happily continuing this WOE

Steam punk corset images is worth a google. Oooohh nice choice & should look gorgeous!
This is where my early dinner habit wins - up drinking tea and eating a banana to break my 37 hour water fast by 6:30am! Must say, yesterday was really easy, hardly any hunger at all, my body is really okay with fasting. We are having a cold snap, and I really felt the cold, not sure how much of that is the fasting and how much just my general wussiness!
Oh dear Wildmisses. Poor wee cygnets!! I'd say you're right though. It's great that the weather is picking up and with the lighter evenings, I finally feel like I'm coming out of hibernation.

That great feeling of getting outside and walking is sooo amazing. That and another successful fast. Enjoy the well deterred cuppas Wildmisses and Gillymary! katamac - tea is the answer to a cold snap too. That and a hot water bottle!
I was starving earlier and had a pick of 3 ikea meatballs hubby was cooking. Not pleased, but could have been much worse. Done an hour of karate this evening too. Nearly bed time now. Night night all.
Redhead, I'm juice fasting this week.
Just like u I was intrigued by the fat, sick ... Documentary ,
I bought Jason vales 5 day detox plan and started today,
5 days seems doable .
My main hope Is that I curb my cravings for junk food
As even though I'm liquid fasting 2 days a week, I'm still overeating on my feed days
Thus my weight loss is frustratingly slow and I often feel sluggish after feed days.
I absoutely believe in 5:2 as the best long term fit for me but if my feed days don't improve with the quality of food that I eat, I fear I doomed to fail.
I'm hoping this will give me a headstart!
Well,I tried to join you all on a 36er,it would of been my first-managed 22 hrs,is a 36er something you build up to or do I just need more water and willpower?? :?:
annieliz, redhead has more or less done it from the start. Most of the rest of us were doing 500 cals at dinner time. Many of us felt that by eating at dinner time we turned on our hunger switch making the evenings very difficult. Having done a few weeks of water fasts, it seems to be easier than having 500 cals. Personally on fast days I am able to listen to my body more - yes my stomach rumbles but the majority of the time it isn't hunger, my body is still programmed to want to eat at dinner time. I keep myself busy and when the family have had dinner I am sorted.
Hi redhead
In the past 3 season changes I have done a weekend detox regime which had lots of juicing worked into it. I followed the suggested menu and the juices did their trick for example beet root works wonders.
It was being able to complete these detox weekends that made me confident I could adhere to 5:2. So am sure you will love a juice detox. Felt wonderful afterwards
Annieliz, I still eat too much chocolate in particular on non fast days - but maybe it is getting less? My weight loss is slw, and I know I could count calories on non fast days or something to make it quicker, but I'm also liking just not having to think about food, but still just gradually lose weight. That's how it went on! I also got here slowly, I was eating a small dinner (not even 500 calories) for a couple of months before realising that I coul just skip it, and my hunger switch wouldn't be flipped. Widmissus then posted she was going to try, Redhead gave fab support, and next thing, a whole bunch if us are 36 liquid fasting
