Hi Wineoclock. Are you going to start whining about fasting again? I still have Wednesday dinner to eat and a lovely nights of sleep before Thursday Fast. Of course when you are enjoying your Friday feed, I might be there whining with you!

Yes...I'm in today and have a cold and I am cold, so plenty of hot lemon drinks (without honey)and oranges is on the menu. Also have a piece of Orange Roughy fish and scallops without any sides as I'm thinking oranges will take up a few calories but they make me feel better when I have a cold.

Also been thinking how easy 5:2 must be in the summer than in the winter, as I naturally want more food to keep warm in Winter and have managed okay considering how much I was eating before this WOE but I am glad I have started in Winter cause it can only get easier as time goes by. Happy Fasting to you all that are in today.

ZIngbing, have a thought for those of us in Tasmania! Frosty morning. I'm in today. What can I do with prawns on a cold night?

Sallyo Tom yum has prawns in it also chilli etc and is a beautiful soup made from scratch and is low cal but there was also a mention of prawn recipe on the forum but it might have been embedded in a fast day thread on Monday last I think

Hope you feel better zinging all that citrus will help with the cold and dinner sounds yum

I am in today have prepped my vegs for the clear turkey broth for lunch. Yet to get inspired about dinner will seek some warming comfort food. Have found a great herbal tea roobios with vanilla and it is doing the trick so far with keeping me on target to lunch.

Sleep well you stragglers and good fasting everyone

Tasmanians are tough as nails. We are holidaying in Tassie this Xmas/New Year as we could never do it in Winter.

Sallyo what about a spicy Thai soup with prawns, as gillymary has suggested a Tom Yum (yummo).

Thx gillymary, being on this forum is taking my mind of things, but I should be working...never mind there is always tomorrow.

I fell in love with Tasmania and Tasmanians and try to visit as much as I can a magical destination on many levels. Add a drop of vanilla to roobios if you want a lovely combo

Hi everyone. I'm in today too. Still not hungry at all -don't know if it's because I have a cold or I'm so used to fasting now? Anyway I'm thinking the chicken curry we are having tonight (leftovers fom Monday's fast) will be to much and I might just warm up some frozen chicken soup. That sounds nice, mmmmm.
Another idea Sallyo is a home made Napolitano sauce with prawns and a tiny bit of fetta.I usually have it with toasted sour dough toast on a non fast day. Maybe you could omit the toast?

Hi everyone!
I'm here now, have been for my swim- we gave in today and went to the indoor pool!
When I started 5:2 it was a very cold snowy winter in Europe and I felt so sorry for those 5:2ing
We Aussies are such wimps about the cold- except perhaps Sallyo, it really does get cold down there in Tassie oh, and also in the Blue Mtns!
However I'm sitting here in Sydney with the gas heating on drinking my black coffee and planning to keep busy till 6pm! I really would like to eat something now- I'm not actually very hungry but it's the cold weather!
Have a good fast day

Hi all. I'm in too. Very tired so not feeling great, but very very busy so no time to think about hunger. Can have dinner an 5.5 hours - but who's counting?

I"m fasting today cold cold cold. Oh well, the cold takes my mind of any hint of hunger.

Zingbing, rooibos is South African, and it always amused me that for years over here in Australia it was in the health food section with big labels of "organic", and all the health conscious people would have it alongside their herbal teas. I normally drink it with milk, except when I'm fasting. (Funnily, I'm not a fan of the vanilla one, even though I like both vanilla and rooibos separately.) In South Africa, most of the herb teas use rooibos as a base.
