I feel a bit low today I don't even know why

I chose the chinese soup just because I don't crave anything and it was that or cereals, really

I think the weather (we had big storms yesterday) is one of the reasons. It's cold, we hardly see the sun and it feels more like we are near Xmas that it's nearly summer

I'm in, and so far it's been an easy one (not like Tusday [shudder]).

I'm in too, hopefully won't be as much of a struggle today since I'll be very busy. I struggle every fast right up until about 4pm and then I'm ok. I think I might have to go back to having an egg or something for lunch, just worry abit about turning that switch on. At least the "June gloom" is letting up and the sun is rising now and it looks to be a glorious sunny warm day. :)

llin wrote: I'm fasting today. I've not posted much at all before but I've got to SHOUT OUT how my #asthma seems to have all but dissapeared - even in this time of high pollen (Wales) . I've had asthma forever - steroids etc but I'm #asthma free!!!! (hashtag overkill?).
I've lost 9.97kg since Jan 07 2013 with my waist now down from 34" to 28" thanks to 5.2. I started on underactive #thyroid meds in Jan too (50mg) which has probably helped. I'm over the moon with the new me!
This week - my #cholestrol test was slightly higher (5.6 to 5.9) and the Doc says I need to take 75mg thyroxin as I'm slightly more 'underactive' now.....
Any thoughts anyone?

Interesting results @llin! Others have reported that asthma is improved and also some have found that total cholesterol increased...however, it is the total cholesterol:HDL cholesterol ratio that is the key component in determining your cardiovascular risk so you should always get the HDL value as well as the total cholesterol figure from your doc.

The thyroid decrease is interesting and may be just chance or it may be an indicator of how our bodies try to compensate for undereating by reducing our metabolic rate. The hope is that our 'feast days' will prevent this from happening and the observation that some have found better weight loss after an indulgent weekend than after being careful on all their non-fast days might suggest that this is the case. Have you been restricting on feed days as well as fast days BTW?

Hello all,

Second fast day for me today and like Tuesday, have felt a bit empty but not really hungry. Had a few black coffees, a fruit tea and lots of water and will be going to the pub for a bit after work and having a couple of pints of soda water (that's what I normally have, fasting or not, as OH likes a pint or two so I become designated driver  ). Planning to have half a chicken breast and some roasted broccoli with garlic, parmesan and lemon juice when I get in, and some pineapple, berries and fromage frais later on.

Probably going to do a third fast on Sunday, just because I'll be out all day and there will be lots of drinks but not much food, and since I'll be driving (again!) and therefore not drinking I may as well fast! Will probably stick to 5:2 the rest of the time though. Looking forward to weighing in on Monday!

Fast day #2 for me. Having had a cup of coffee & a little green tea thus far. Saving my cals. for a dinner of homemade chicken ginger stirfry. Must admit I'm a little hungrier today than I was on Tuesday but it's so worth the benefits!

I was going to have a sandwich today during my fast, but each slice of bread is 100 calories. I need to find a gizmo to cut bread in half so that the two slices will add up to 100 calories total - not 200 calories. And no, it's not the same when you cut the bread in half the other way, because then you only have half a sandwich - not a whole sandwich. There's a fortune to be made here; dieters would eat it up!

Ooooops! How many calories on the spoon after you make banana bread? I may have gone over my calorie limit today

Hi there. I am just finishing off my fast day. I was really pleased with myself today as had to go to a study day. I knew lunch would be laid on, so wasn't sure how it would go. I took my regulation hard boiled egg and bottle of sparkling water and managed to resist the sandwiches, chips, nibbles, biscuits and cakes!!!!! Feeling very pleased with myself. I can eat tomorrow!!!! :like:

Hi, I have just had my yummy Spanish omelette with peppers and mushrooms, which leaves me enough calories for a glass of milk at bedtime :) Today has been ok, but I will enjoy eating again tomorrow.

eb757 - surely the answer to your problem of cutting a slice of bread is a knife!! LoL

My fasting day nearly had to go out the window today when we all got lockd out of the kitchen at work, and my carefully weighed and measured breakfast and lunch were both in the fridge in there. But they got the door open just before I was due to have my break. Not sure how I felt about that to be honest, it would maybe have been nice to have been forced to break the fast - an excuse that was absolutely NOT my fault. But I stuck to it.

I have two large eggs which need eating up, might do devilled eggs with a bit of extra low fat mayo and some english mustard powder and paprika. Possibly a weird supper to just have that on their own, but never mind - I often end up with slightly odd meals on fasting days.

Nearly done, I had Waitrose Love Life Fish Pie (269 cals) for dinner with a pot of microwaved mixed veg. I have enough calories left for some fruit salad but a mug of Options will take me slightly over, I'll see how I feel at bedtime

The waitrose fish pie is a fabulous fast day meal I reckon Sian, there's a lot of food for the cals. I went down the ready meal route tonight as well, an m&s count on us pork loin with potatoes, carrots and cabbage (wish I'd had some cabbage in the house to add though as there wasn't much of that) 295cals and quite a lot of food for it too :)

I had a big fruit salad and a 10cal jelly at work today and some green tea but I was so hungry by mid afternoon I had to have a bovril cube in water and an extra 10 cal jelly. Still got enough calories left for my favourite mini milk lolly treat though.

Hi all,
I'm in today, bit late posting as usual. Had green tea all day and unusually had a convenience meal from M&S tonight. It was a spicy chicken and cauliflower dish, 320 calories. Sorry but can't remember what it was called. Anyway, it was very nice. Having a cup of chocolate tea with a splash of 1% milk now and will have a 40 calorie hot chocolate before bed.
