Hello, I'm new and just joined today, having spoken with my son, who is doing the diet on his own and is very fitness aware, as Dad and paternal Granny are severe diabetics. (have ordered MM's book today too.) Other half's cholesterol and mine are raised a bit. Hoping the diet will help that. 1st day today, had 2 poached eggs and some very thin ham for breakfast, and NO bread. My OH makes gorgeous bread! So will I need to be on Bovril tonight? Any advice please! Allotment42
Hi allotment42, welcome to the forum.

Two eggs are about 140 cals and the ham is about 45 so you've had 185 approx. So you can have a meal tonight of about 360 cals! Not just Bovril!

There are some good calorie counters to help you work out what you can eat, see the Resources forum for some links.

Good luck and any questions, please ask!
Me! First day today although I have been aware of the diet since Michael's Horizon programme last year.
I started at 10.30 last night (last food 5pm yesterday). No breakfast and forgot to take my low cal lunch so did not eat until 5pm tonight and had 400 cals, the rest in drinks and a miso soup.
I am initially doing the 24 hour fast though in future it wont start so late, the upside of it is that I will not eat anything even when I can after 10.30 as it is too late for me to eat.
Can honestly say have not felt hungry at all today.
Anyone else tried the 24 hour fast first?
