So far so good, not eaten anything yet and feeling ok, no hunger pangs yet! I have noticed since I started fasting that my veg intake have more than doubled so that can only be a good thing!

Feeling good today and hoping my plateau will end soon.
Happy fasting ladies and gents x
Good luck AnnieD hope you last out, maybe you'll get a compliment from the MiL!

I had an amazingly healthy low carb feta, almond and olive salad yesterday and it sounds insane to think that to SW devotees that would be off limits as its full of 'sins' (and don't get me started on describing food as 'sinful' grr!).
Completely agree with you - have been doing SW for over a year and have done well on it (well for the first 8 months, bounced around within the same stone for the last 6) but some of it seems crazy to me. For example, you can have a packet of pasta and sauce as a snack for 'free', but an avocado or a couple of pieces of crusty bread would be prohibitively high in syns. That's a big part of what made me change, being able to eat healthy, normal foods without having to count them or feel guilty. 5:2 is certainly delivering on that score!
Liquid only for me today so challenge will be distracting myself around tea time - a bit of exercise then pampering I think.
Good luck fellow fasters!
Today is the 4th of July in the US, as someone has already pointed out. By rights (as a native-born Yank) I should be sitting in a lawn chair in the sun at a barbecue scoffing up burgers and chicken and corn on the cob and potato salad and watermelon and chilled (cheap - of course!) white wine and a sheet cake made up like a flag with strawberries for stripes and blueberries for stars and watching fireworks. Instead I'm sitting in an airless office in the City of London on a drab day fasting. Woe is me.
Happy 4th to all our US friends!
Maybe I'll just put up my really big American flag and let everyone "feast" on that, as a reminder of what my husband likes to refer to as "Traitors' Day"
Overall I have to say that I have been enjoying this WOE and am seeing results so here's to "slow and steady wins the race"
Good luck everyone

Neither is watermelon (which I'm not sure you can even get here?). My half-English kids aren't really into burgers themselves (can they be mine??). And my husband insists that cake is not dessert. But really any kind of BBQ will help me get into the spirit.

How can cake not be dessert?! and watermelon, as in the green and red fruit? Yes we have that here!!
Well you're more than welcome to BBQ and cake at mine, I am not fussy at all!
When my husband and I were dating I went to a lot of trouble to make him a Victoria Sponge for dessert, and was really excited about it. He appreciated it but he and his friends still have a giggle about it - cake is for tea, darling, not pudding! (What "pudding" is to Americans is a whole other post.)
I've seen watermelon cut up in salad bars over here but I can't say I've seen many whole watermelons - maybe I just shop in the wrong stores. I LOVE watermelon - I grew up on it!
