Hello everyone, I'm new, and I'm in! :like: I fasted today but went over the calorie allowance a bit. I was at about 672 cals today. Still, I'll keep trying! This was my second fast day since I started the diet on Tuesday after my doctor recommended it to me. I've managed to lose 3 1/2 stone by myself over the last 2 years but my weight has plateaued since Christmas, so I am hoping this will shake things up a bit! I need to lose about another 3 stone. I'm happy for it to be slow and steady - so long as it moves in the right direction. Good luck everyone
Welcome to the forums, Whitelily77!

Slow and steady is the right way to go :-) Glad to hear you aren't too discouraged by going a bit over -- there is always another chance to fast.
I'm sooooooooooooooooooooooo hungry!!!! Today has been REALLY hard for some reason. I felt a bit light headed when doing choir practice at lunchtime (this has happened on a fast day before so I think singing and fasting don't mix well) and then when I got home this afternoon decided to mow the jungle that is our garden. Wow that was hard work - felt like curling up into a ball on the lawn and sleeping there, and bending down to pick up all the grass clippings made me feel all woozy again. Would have eaten something but am eating with friends tonight so I don't have control over calorie content so am just going to be restrained (that's the plan although I suspect once I start I'll be diving into seconds like nobody's business). If I do end up scoffing loads I can always miss brekkie tomorrow.

Well I ate a couple of strawberries (and some wild strawberries) off the garden but they were negligible calorie value (I think80g is only 25 or something).

Happy 4th July to all the yanks - wish we had a national day to just sit around eating! We got the jubilee last year and the royal wedding the year before that but I'm missing all those extra bank hols this year!
Today is my first fasting day! Gone well, just had a cauliflower soup and sweet potato for my dinner and a small pot of soy yogurt. Was most difficult early afternoon (not having lunch - never eat breakfast so that was fine). A few times I thought I'd fast and then changed my mind. The nice thing about today was actually committing to it and doing it
I really needed junk tonight so had a square wrap with cheese am chorizo grilled it was so nice but wanted loads more coming in at 532 today on allowance of 549. Hoping my girls go to sleep early so i can have my magic tea bag and sleep. Happy 4th to all those across the pond.
I've coped well so far today, being extra busy sorting out fencing and trellising in the garden has help tremendously. The coping also included going into a 'Subway' and getting my husbands foot long sub and my sons wrap.

I really fancy a ceaser salad for dinner in a bit. I will see how much chicken there is (its cooked wings so I need to bone and skin it) and how heavy on calories the ceaser dressing is.

Now I need to feed the ravening hoard before sitting outside and enjoying the last of the sunshine with my dinner.
Second fast this week and I've made it through the day so far. Just having a nighttime tea and probably some more water before bed. I had a baked potato, salad and slices of cold roast beef for tea tonight.
I did circuit training this evening but I don't feel hungry now just thirsty. I'm quite impressed I made it through considering I'd been fasting!
Drat! I've gone 40 calories over my target for today.
Oh well.
Less melon next time, 200g instead of the delicious 400g that jumped down my neck unhindered.

Hi, This is my first week and my second day of fasting. It does seem a weird way of trying to improve my health and lose weight. Sort of the opposite of all the previous advice. My first day of fasting was successful, in that I stuck to it, but it was tricky in parts. On the whole I was just a bit proud of myself. Today, the second day has been easier. I didn't have anything until about 11am. Then ate my supper at 8pm. Now I feel rather sick! Really having to concentrate on not throwing up! Didn't expect that. I am hoping it will pass soon. I had 2 poached eggs, some bresola and a salad of lettuce, tomato and cucumber. Perhaps the salad was too big but it padded out the protein. Next time I will use a smaller plate and have less as really don't like this feeling!
Getting ready to break my fast. 70 calories ingested since last evening... 20 hours. MMMMM that bowl of soup is going to taste great.
About to take myself off to bed before I'm tempted to eat something - am at my parents' house and they have cupboards full of yummy food! Trying to get my mum to have a go at 5:2 but no luck so far
Sooooooooooooooooo want to stuff my face full of sweets. Real post late shift sugar craving . Aarrrggghhh...... Must not give in, must not give in.........must get a grip!
