[quote="AiriR"]I'm in too! This is my 17th week and genuinely feels like a way of life for me now. I like the 'clean' feel of fast days and how they help balance out the week. Had the most decadent lunch at a Lindt chocolate café yesterday and enjoyed every mouthful of it - that's what I love about 5:2, how you can enjoy life without feeling guilty!

AiriR- that's exactly how I feel!
I've been on 5:2 for 18wks now and really love the freedom.

I got out my old WW notes yesterday and realised that in the same time frame I had lost only 3 kg more on WW ( 19 years ago, pre menopause and walking 40 mins almost every day).
With this WOE I have enjoyed my food still over the 4 months and lost almost 9kg, swimming twice a week and keeping moderately active.
Love it!
Have a good fast day everyone.
This is the last fast of my 10th week. Very quiet day at work so I'm staying motivated with plenty of green tea. (As well as the thought of a large glass of red tomorrow :-P )Also I will be doing my first weigh-in tomorrow.

I cant say I look forward to fast days but they do help to ease the guilt of feast days and also they encourage me to get to bed early!
I would much rather do it this way than be counting cals every day and depriving myself as well as exercising like a maniac, I tried that for almost a year and a half and lost 7 pounds then put back on almost 14!
Hi!
Today is my 6th fast day. I had a black coffee this morning, hit the gym at lunch and burnt 200 cals, then had a 107cal salad from Woolworths and 6 mini tuna sushi for 178cals. Tonight I'm making cauliflower soup for dinner. Feeling good today!

Good luck everyone!
I'm in :)

Just a little worried because I won't be able to go to bed early! OH is picking MIL up from the ferry port ths evening so they won't be back here until 23h00 then we stay up & talk until about 1am (it's rude to go to bed immediately !!) NOT GOOD :(
My 13th week and I still struggle :-)
Mondays are ok but Thursdays are harder. Tried to eat a lot and quite late yesterday to see if that helps. With a busy schedule I just don't have time to feel fatigued and under the weather!

Have no plan for food today - what are the rest of you having?
Hi fellow fasters, it's week 10 for me and last fast for the week. Food today was slice of whole grain toast with spread of natural peanut butter and coffee. Lots of herbal tea and water during day. Cold chicken and Greek salad (sort of) for dinner tonight. Went thru some sort of shaky spell around 2pm today though which made me feel weird. Got over it though by sitting down at my desk for a bit and ate a sugar free sweet, fainting at work would not have been ideal! Anyone else with this kind of thing happening?
Weigh in again tomorrow to see if my recent plateau is really over.
Also wine tomorrow after work, look forward to it! Cheers all for a great weekend!
I'm at 22 hours on water today, dinner will be a steak and salad, so that should fill me up until bed time, Good luck with your Fasting day today :)
i am new to the website and fasting today. this is my 6th week and i really did not think i would stick to but have surprised myself. i do struggle at night when i waku up hungry but have to think in a few hours i can eat properly
Joining you all today but really not feeling it. Meeting friends for lunch tomorrow and family meal at restaurant Sat night so gotta be good. I can see today being a hot chocolate day :)

On the plus side I ran again this morning. Second time this week but as haven't run for 6 weeks as resting up an injury it was only a mile and a half. Woohoo

Good luck everyone x
I'm in today too! Have a coffee meet up with a pal later but it's americanos all the way for me. The difficulty is those lovely chocs that they give you in Butlers with your coffee. I think I'll have to bring them home for my girls. So poached egg on granary toast for brekkie (207 cals). And some fish with lots of salad for dinner this evening...sounds ok doesn't it?!
Good luck everyone!
Hi all

First Thursday fast in ages. I usually eat with friends on a Thursday so don't usually fast but the friends who are cooking are doing Slimming world so there's a good chance the meal will come in under 500cals if I avoid too many spuds, and if it's my only meal I'm not too worried if I go over - can always skip breakfast tomorrow if I feel I've had too much. I could never do slimming world, it seems so restrictive - just seems like they eat meat, spuds or pasta and veg every single day. Yawn. I had an amazingly healthy low carb feta, almond and olive salad yesterday and it sounds insane to think that to SW devotees that would be off limits as its full of 'sins' (and don't get me started on describing food as 'sinful' grr!). I told my friends about fasting as they've already lost several stones with SW (the chap was almost certainly morbidly obese, sleep apnoea the works etc) but he at least thought I was mad (and given I am already in his eyes skinny - I'm not) and I think they want to stick with what is working for them. Which is fair enough I suppose.

Wasn't feeling the fasting love before I started again this week but loving it now! The easiest way by far I have ever found to lose weight and feel amazing! Doesn't always feel like that at 3pm on a fast day but I always now try to think not just 'what will I eat tomorrow?' but 'how amazing are you going to feel tomorrow?' - that keeps me going.
I'm in for a Thursday fast. Should be a busy day with driving lesson at lunchtime and seeing a show after work so I'll see if I can keep it liquids only today (only calories milk in tea and coffee). Let's do it!
I'm in although think it might be a tough one - time of the month plus stuck indoors doing revision all day. I'll just keep focussing on the yummy prawn stir fry I've planned for this evening's dinner!
I'm in as well. It's my 4th fast day and I'm trying something different. I've had eggs in the morning so far but today tried a mountain of fruit: strawberries, melon, pear and orange. Couldn't finish it so will have it later at work. Not sure if it will make hunger worse as it will be through my stomach in no time, but it's what I fancied so I did it.

Chicken for dinner - the kids are having fajitas and we will have ours dry fried with some salad.

Happy fasting everyone :)
