Prayers to you and your friend's family, Juliana.
On any fast day, I'm noticing that there will inevitably be someone chowing down on a big breakfast seated directly across from me on the subway. It's not the dining car! Annoys me mildly on non-fast days (smells), but really gets me on fast days.
I'll just stick to raw veg again tonight, and perhaps try to miss breakfast tomorrow.
I tend not to exercise on fast days, but did have a run last night which went well; it was a strange up day yesterday, ate lots of pastries and sandwiches left over from a work meeting
Feeling good so far, good luck to everyone.
My sympathies to you and the family, Julianna.
I had just typed a reply here and then went to open a new tab to search for a website to link in, and got rid of the whole page!! Doh!
So anyway I was feeling very please with myself for managing to fast today - I called it off yesterday as was feeling very odd and hadn't slept well. Today was much better and I've just put a roast chicken in (got an organic chicken for £1.99 in my supermarket's reduced section today!) - it's only me here but I'll try and restrain myself and not eat it all (or all the skin!) and have some with roast veggies. Should do me & the hubby nicely cold with salads over the weekend. Got piles of small picota cherries (only £1 at the mo), strawberries and some nectarines that are like bullets so they'll be staying on the windowsill to ripen. I don't eat lots of fruit usually but love this feeling of bounty at the moment - UK fruit & veg goes through a tough time in Spring! I know only the strawbs are UK grown out of what I said, but I just can't resist those cherries and peaches - oh and another wedge of watermelon!
Anyway, the link I was going to put up was for the iced coffee - glad Manderley's enjoying it and spreading the word!

I adore this website (although clearly eating roast chicken I'm not vegan but like to eat lots of plants too - see the 'green monster' tab at the top!) and the almond milk works well in cold coffee (I find it coagulates in hot coffee) - alpro unsweetened is 26 cals for 200ml.
Right will post this before I delete again!
Good luck all!
Another cold drink that's good (and feels like a treat) is to blitz some ice cubes in a liquidizer or processor and add a small slosh of fruit juice ( you could use sugar free squash)
Put in a tall glass and garnish with mint.... Lovely!!
I use to be all about "making them sorry they had a buffet". Now I just want a healthy quality meal. Good luck everyone for the rest of your day!
- think that's still me!
