I'm not sure if this is the right place to post thus, but what do people think?
My daughter thought it was a hospital gown, but I love it

That's kinda what I suspected (though hoped wasn't true) In my head I'm a very young looking forty something, in reality, perhaps less so
I already have a Carolina dress, but it's a black halterneck sort and I've had nowhere to wear it since middle daughter bought it as a surprise Mother's Day present! I am after a more day to day dress (I mostly wear dresses) I do have a 40s style button through dress I made, but it's a tad too big now!
I should just attack my fabric stash and make some new clothes. I guess I'm just a bit too busy right now.
@Karenm if you love it wear it. I can recall I once had a lecturer who was a buxom lass but she looked awesome from the tip of her toes which were scuffed black doc martins via the well loved black tights the nipped in at the waist velvet dress and the tiny pink cardie to her glorious tumble of long curly hair. She just looked like she loved her style and carried it off. So I think if you love that vintage style life it too short not to wear what you love.
The black dress sounds stunning too lucky you

@Karenm I know what you mean about being young in your head. So many times I have to tell myself, "Look here, you're over 60 get out of this section" LOL. I seem to just gravitate to the younger styles. Oh well, I'll learn.
@swan51 you are only as old as you feel, if you life a particular style go for it I say. I have rediscovered short to knee skirts, tights and team with snazzy ankle boots and knits and I believe I look just fine. Get lots of compliments too. Mind you summer is a different story and am still working on building that wardrobe.
