Re: New! Insomniacs tent...

Nose boring? Blimey, how does that work? I have a perforated septum, hole in nose, caused by using steroid inhalers for my lungs. They caused so many nose bleeds and the trauma caused my septum to perforate. It sometimes makes sleeping difficult as it can set up a whistling which drives me crazy when I lie down. I was most disappointed when I went to the hospital as not one person asked me what I had been snorting. How sad is that, I am obviously the most boring looking person on the planet. Not that I wish to be taken for a druggie or anything, in fact I really deplore drug taking but I would like to think I look a bit edgier than I obviously do, oh well!
Yes, we live VERY close to EMA, in fact as the crow flies we are about half a mile from the end of the runway, not usually a problem but the wind must be blowing in the wrong direction tonight.
Weather a bit blowy and wet, hate the blooming damp we have here, does not do my chest, or septum, any good and yes, a heated throw is a girls best friend in the cold weather.
Hope your fast goes o.k. Is saturday one of your normal fast days?

Hi Debs. How's the fast going? In London. Hotel room too hot and can't work out how to work the aircon, so wide awake. Thankfully OH not snoring. You still here Ballerina?

Hi Karen,

Thought you were sunning yourself somewhere in or around the Balearics. Hate being awake all night in a hotel, at least at home I can wander around without frightening the natives or the wild life. Just heard hubs wander around upstairs, he probably thinks I'm in bed, hee hee,

Hi ladies a nice crowd building here, even though it is afternoon I feel like a sleep

Just prepared a loaf of wheat free bread, looks amazing and hope will be a bread substitute to give me energy. It is doing its magic proving for a few hours now until time for the oven. Considering now setting up for tomorrow's food as I am liquid fasting and while not hungry I do some of my best cook- ups when I fast. The aromas I hope are calorie free. It's a plant based brown rice and lentil arrangement which is tempting me

Like like the idea of that warmer too. I did think ugh re nose boring but Ballerina nice to see you in fine fettle again. Hi to all

No we came back last night to this rotten weather and decided to stay here a couple of days as it's always miserable waiting for connecting flights at the end of a hol. Just reading about your septum and lungs. Wow. That would have needed to be am impressive amount of stuff to do that.  I wonder why they never asked you? So what really caused it?

Hi Ladies,
Ravenous here :curse: :curse: :curse:
Yes, he broke his nose when young and it was a little out of kilter, so it bored to open it up a bit. Seems to have done the trick. So, no rolled up five pound notes then - hee hee hee.

I have the same problem in hotel rooms too rawkaren, we have all the windows open at home even in the coldest weather. I hate cold and damp though, worst sort. Although today, steaming hot and damp isn't a lot of fun either. :frown:

Sat isn't normally one of my fast days but I am doing every other day at the moment to try and shift some weight, the food is really rubbish here so I have nowt to lose (apart from weight of course!)

You could always pretend to be sleep walking Ballerina, liven things up a bit. Put a bowl or colander on your head, just to really confuse him

What time is it there??

Mmmm. Hi Gillymary. I'm liking the sound of that bread of yours. Will you post the recipe if you are happy how it turns out?

Morñing, Gillymary,

Ooh, that all sounds lovely, you are making me a little bit hungry now but. Shall desist besides it would mean getting up from the sofa, and the warm throw, and actually doing something. I shall just enjoy the hunger pangs instead and hope I am burning fat.

You're a better woman than I am gillymary, I avoid all trace of food at these sensitive times!!

That made me laugh Debs. Ballerina sporting a colander. Bit like a darlek. If he asks what she is doing she could just reply E-X-P-L-A-I-N in that silly voice.

I might need to do a bit of ADFing myself after this last week. Only one meal a day, but two courses, wine etc etc.

You both like your holidays, what plans do you have next?

"Put a bowl or colander on your head to really confuse him"   he has lived with me for too long now to ever be confused by anything I could do, but a lovely thought anyway.

My perforation was caused by the trauma of the continuous nose bleeds. If I had know that could happen then I would never have used the damned inhaler in the first place. Oh well, mustn't grumble and I keep thinking about Gillymary's loaf, yum, yum

Hope everyone is safe over in North America with the wild weather.

Oh I so wish I was travelling but tied down at present. But some grey nomad journeys will be in my plans.

Happy to oblige @rawkaren this loaf bit unusual with psyllium husks the binding agent. But might just be the ticket to get things going post fast day. Can hardly wait (don't read debs) toast at lunch time tomorrow from freshly the cooked loaf with avocado and smoked salmon and cream fraise

I think I read somewhere about first week of Jan. Maybe she means next week.....

I used to have dreadful nosebleeds as a teenager. Permanently had huge clots attached to the end of my nose. Not a great look for a young girl......

OH now stirring....
