and if you both take the same shoe size you could always, ahem, 'borrow' them! Seriously though, some great suggestions already but if you give us a few more clues as to her tastes and interests we might be able to really crack it for you!

 Hi Karen well if it was me receiving (a very generous gift of that amount ). Iwould put on my list ::
Tablet/PC/book reader thingy I've just had my 5th + best an
Acer 7.9" from Argos.
Or a spa day with some pamper sessions.
Or a mini break/holiday prob midweek for me.

Jewellery used to be my fave but when you reach a certain age and have put it on Xmas or b/day lists for years well you can only wear one pair of earings a day!!
:clover: :clover: Good Luck with your shopping trip and let us know what your decision is :clover: :clover: Sue :clover: :clover:

Thanks everyone. Knew you would have some great ideas. We bought her a kindle fire for her birthday and she already has a DAB radio. I agree about the jewellery, she has more than she can possible wear (fashion stuff rather than real). I like the idea of a cooking experience. She loves being in the kitchen.

Now all 13 nieces and nephews are grown up I don't have many to buy for now and as we don't have kids, I can afford to spoil her a bit. Well mums are worth it aren't they!

So how are we all today? From tomorrow I am no longer 60, and when asked how old I would be, 4year old grandson said 34 so I'm sticking with that.

Hoping to enjoy being alive! If the sun could put in a bright sparkly appearance that would be great.
Perhaps if I'm to be 34 I should go clubbing/parachute jumping/other things young 'uns do these days ?? *Wonder what they are?*

Hello! I am new here, recently posted in the Newbie forum where I was pointed in this direction by fellow Aussie Sassy1. My name is Jill and I come from inland NSW. I am onto my 2nd fasting day tomorrow and looking forward to the challenge. I am also looking forward to getting to know new people.
