Hi there Candice!
Loved the bit about the bedspin hahaha!!!
I was never really allowed to drink alcohol when i was a teen, weird that having been brought up in France with italian parents!! Sooooooo when i landed in good old England at the ripe old age of 18 i did the decent thing had my fair share of wine!! To this day i will never ever forget drinking a whole bottle of cheap wine, went to bed and then the walls ,windows, ceiling all merged into one giant merrygoround hahahahaha... I thought, this is it, am off.... Am taking off and i am never coming down again... This was promplty followed by me spending the rest of night my head inside a bucket Ahhh to be a teen again, no thanks!!!!!!!!!
Anyway, back on topic, sorry, not much temptation in the house yet, there will be next wek sometime, i am baking a cheesecake or two.. And i will defo have some chocolates, am an addict... I dont like mince pies though, i know i know, am weird like that... But i love xmas logs, chocolate ones, yum!!
Enjoy your goodies Everyone!! Candice i admire your willpower!! Xx

Yes@angie090465 that was deffo your introduction to Bedspin!
I was arrested for drinking a bottle of wine in the street aged 16..,
Can you believe how naive i was? Drinking it outside a police station? No wonder i was spotted..
I had to go to court and got fined £ 2
My only brush with the law i hasten to add
But as i always say,you can't put an old head on young shoulders, and i guess drinking cheap wine, experiencing Bedspin, head in bucket, even being sick in someone's makeup bag ( happened to a friend)..they are all just rites of passage! X
Ps thank you for admiring my will power..but i DID have a big big piece of cheesecake..and I ' m suffering for it now..my system doesnt seem as keen on sugar any more, and i think of what my Mum used to say to me.." Your eyes are bigger than your belly"
( in other words,what a greedy pig!

@CandiceMarieTemptation struck me sometime in the past week because I've had my first gain of 2lbs
3 evening meals out in 8days but I have to confess that I've sneaked a few too many chocolate digestive biscuits
So now I'm trying to behave myself except for my hopefully last xmas meal at the end of the week then nothing until Christmas eve After that I'm coming up to spend a little time with you @wildmissus sounds like a good party to me Sue

I'm sure I WILL belong in here any day now. Today though, I am on a fast day and have just had morning tea with a friend. I had only a cup of tea and some lovely conversation! Next week will be a different matter, when I start slicing into the ham, creating the trifle, creaming the pav etc etc...However, I have refrained from purchasing potato chips/crisps for nibbleys (which I love) and have only purchased pretzels and corn chips (which I don't love)
@candicemarie and @pennyforthem, I'm not sure which of you is the bigger trouble maker; this is just an excuse to read some gastro-porn isn't it???
I am having to live vicariously through your food adventures as I consume my awful, mass produced camp food for the week and am already traumatised by talk of Mrs Bourne's cheese, bed spin, wildmissus's booze list
Like some here, I spent my youth getting bladdered at uni ( thank goodness I was an arts student and didn't have to get up very often ). I remember bed spin very well, but I was very experienced, I was able to take out my contact lenses without even realising!! Ah, the pile of smoke tainted clothes on the floor ( no I didn't smoke, everyone else did), smelling like an ash tray. I don't miss it; we go for quality not quantity these days, I can barely manage half a bottle of wine these days. Probably just as well, as I don't miss the three day hangover!!
I am back in Melbourne on the 23rd and am staying with friends; I have sent an ingredient list and shall be spending Xmas Eve cooking for victory-can't wait!!,

@debs you are quite right, these girls are SO naughty they need some time out on the naught step. I was considering the wet fish but, knowing them, they would only turn it into some gastronimique extravaganza and post the recipe for it on here, tsk, tsk

I's too late for me. If only I had known about this tent yesterday I would have checked in and hid for the rest of the day.
A weekend full of entertaining which involved not only testing my creations but also thoroughly indulging. So I'm handing in my leftovers to you:
Duck Baklava
Mountains of cheese
Assorted gifts donated by guests including stollen, marzipan chocolates, gingerbread (I have alot of German friends)
German apple cake donated by a friend for which I broke my sugar free rule and ate to be polite
Left over parmesan custards
Bitter chocolate and dried fruits
Wine (of which I never want to see or drink any again - but no bedspin )
Very happy to be fasting today

Well done Karen on your heartfelt confession ..there's a chute in this tent where your calorific goodies have been disposed of out of harm's way...good for you on handing those naughty items in.
Or any nearby window can be used to chuck out offending food .. Ypur neighbours or the neighbourhood birds will be grateful as long as they dont get hit by flying missiles.
Yes me too..am very glad to be fasting today..the trifle cheesecake had left me feeling very queasy! Xx
Was very tempted to snaffle the leftover marzipan from icing the Xmas cakes yesterday but I resisted and put It in the fridge...I'd better hand it in here for disposal before I succumb!
I love marzipan...previous years have seen me eating the leftovers...probably a clue as to how I reached 16stone!

Me too Caro! Marzipan is dangerously scrumptious
Thanks for handing it in ..and be sure it will be safely destroyed! X
I have just been to Waitrose grocery shopping on a fasting day so not such a good idea & the pack of really chocolatey covered shortbread biscuits just leapt into my trolley & although now hidden in the cupboard are calling to me!!
This is after a very enjoyable weekend with three meals out with wine, lots of Chardonnay & eating a full English breakfast at the hotel on Saturday. This fast day is supposed to be helping to repair my indulgences so I am trying to hold out until an M & S fuller longer meal for supper

[tag]Isis[/tag i just LOVE Waitrose! I couldnt possibly shop there on a fast day
Well done on only purchasing the shortbread ..it couldhave been a lot worse
And well done again on stashing them unopened
You 'll just have to hum loudly til its time for yr lovely nutritious wellearned meal,so you dont hear the shouts from the biccy cupboard
Xx
Ps still on a biccy theme..just given an unwanted box of belgian biscuits to elderly neighbour to stop me from making a huge mug of tea and getting stuck in
Fasting for me too..scrambled eggs later!
