The WAGS tent!
27 Jan 2014, 19:38
A tent for pet owners, wannabe pet owners and those who just love animals.
We've got 4 dogs; Jess, an elderly rescue dog, who is the fount of all gentleness. Then a 5 year old Springer spaniel, Maisie, the 'clever one'. Good at everything she's taught, she's impatient with the youngsters.
Then we have 2 year old Springer, Toba, who's the 'pretty one'! Finally, 3 month Anu, a black and white springer, who's turning out to have a 'super hooter' and a sense of smell that's incredible!
I'll post some photos soon!

So, tell us about your pets, post photos, stories and any news of incredible feats by our four legged pals. In fact, anything to do with wags, walkies, purrs or possums!

Hahaaaaa! Amazed that this one hasn't been thought of before! :victory:

Ambition is to own a dog again at some point in the (near I hope) future ... Previously my family owned Scotties and Beagles ... at the same time, on one occasion (the Scottie was boss).
Would love to own a beagle again, but sadly I don't really have the right environment (small house, work full-time, no 6ft fenced yard, garden (or field  ) and too many knick knacks, chewable furniture ... and live in a terrace and the neighbours wouldn't appreciate the beagle vocals (Aaaarrroooooo!)

Scotties are equally very strong characters - a small dog which thinks it's much bigger ... Would love to have another one ... or maybe a border terrier ... or a patterdale ...

I love this tent!

Currently we have Mel, a ten year old Labrador and Marnie, a four year old King Charles Spaniel. Added to those two are Tigger, Winnie and Fishy the cats plus Yuri the hamster.

We currently have a Springer shaped hole in our house as our Springer Jack went to the bridge last year.

I lost my best friend earlier this month. I would love to join this tent and share your four legged tales till I feel the time is right to get a new puppy.

Brilliant tent! I currently own four dogs, an old English sheepdog, a jack Russell, a fox terrier/jack Russell cross and a bichon frise. They are like my children!!

I have a mad tri merle border collie called Blueberry. We called her that because a) she's a blue merle and b) the surname of the person we brought her from was Berry!
She's often referred to as "Stinky Pete" because, basically she stinks. Her favourite food is cow dung, she loves rolling in fox poo and likes to bathe in muddy puddles or if available you can't beat a stagnant trough in the farmers field. Even the cows don't go near it. She however is in her element if she can jump in before I can stop her, fully submerged, just a nose poking out and a tongue lapping the green slime!! She's also partial to a dip in the canal!! Much to the annoyance of the local swans and ducks.
She has heterochromia in both eyes. Which means each eye is half blue, half brown, straight down the middle. Which is amazing to look at but makes her look a bit simple if she looks at you from the wrong angle. her nose is also half pink half black, she looks like an explosion in a paint factory.
I'm not really painting a good picture here, she is loved greatly, but is most definitely one of a kind!

@minsmum oh dear, Stinky Pete has made me laugh! We used to have a Labrador like that. She was such a lady but then the first whiff of poo or mud and she was off and wasn't happy until she was covered. Hahaha, our animals are vile

Please can I come and lurk (sounds a bit sinister) in your tent? I don't have a dog now but that is my goal - as soon as I am no longer working full time then I shall get two and spend my days walking them (and getting fitter at no real effort). We have had 2 dogs in the past - a border collie called Ben who lived to 17 and was a sweetheart, and Max who was a rescue dog (a friend of mine got him from a shelter but she worked all day and the neighbours complained so she was going to take him back so I asked her if we could have him). He had had 4 homes in 5 years which I don't understand because he was a fab dog with a lovely temperament and a swishy palm tree of a tail. We had him till he was 16 when he died of old age at home. He could be a bit stinky too - you'd hear a small 'hiss' and then a noxious odour would emanate from his vicinity and you'd have to take cover. SO envious of those of you who have dogs but what a lovely tent :-)

Don't get me started on the "hiss" sounds, a general cry of "dog fart" goes up and we run. The dog stays where she is sniffing her butt looking pleased with herself. And oh my she can belch for England!! Usually in you face.
Oh the joys of being a dog owner........I really wouldn't have it any other way. :)

Oh how funny! I thought this would be one tent that I really couldn't enter. Imagine my surprise when it was all about pets.

Now, if I could only work out how to attach photos, I would just LOVE to show off my girls. Poppy is 8 and Minnie is 6 and they are both beautiful Italian Greyhounds. Poppy nearly died over 2 years ago now (at the time she was given 2-3 months to live) so she is an extra special darling. Poor Mins had a lot of teeth removed a few years ago. Oh, she's so sweet with her little gaps!

Where would we be without our furry friends?

Bean

Can I lurk as well? My lovely Zeebo (retriever border collie cross) and Holly (labrador border collie cross) had to be rehomed when I left for the sandpit. Miss them terribly still.
Non Diving Daughter has a basenji called Marley (and also Destructopup) who is a right character and graces Facebook regularly with his antics. Basenji's don't bark, they have a kind of yodel which Marley sings along to the 'Countdown ' theme.
I think if you youtube basenji and singing there are videos that give you the idea.

Oh @Janeg that must have been unbearably hard to have your dogs rehomed. Do you ever get to hear about them?

It's a tent that has made me smile.
Belching, farting, mud magnets and don't we just love 'em?
