Weight Maintenance

Yoo hoo! Maintaineers! Time to check in for the month

It's the first day of winter here in Australia and I'm wondering if the cold weather will bring some challenges to maintaining. I'm definitely less active in winter.

I've been pretty happy with the past month - stayed under target - though it's taking two fasts per week to maintain that. I would like to cut that back to at least a 6:1 alternating with a 5:2. That'll be my goal for June!

This is 5 months of maintenance for me - I feel pretty good about that :victory:

So how is everyone else travelling? Any more joining us this month? I must say, it's such a joy seeing more and more maintaineers reaching the summit.

Have a great month each and very one of you :clover:
Hello Otter and everyone!

I've been maintaining for a couple of weeks now, sort of muddling through what I need to do. Currently I'm doing 1 fast a week and a couple of 16:8s, but I weigh every day to keep an eye on the creeping scales!

I seem to stay within 2lbs of my goal by putting everything into myfitnesspal still, and not going mad with bread. That is definitely my downfall, my mum was staying last week and we got through so many loaves as she's a real carb eater. I found it made me hungrier and it took a lot of willpower not to gorge several times a day. Fitting into nicer clothes is a huge help though
I have managed to maintain for a whole week, and had family staying over too ! I've been weighing most days and skipping breakfast. Also reducing bread, pasta and spuds. I will fast if I need to, but have a much reduced appetite now. And the weather is ok for salad ! If, as you say, Otter, it is the first day of winter in Oz, it should be summer here ! Well, 14 degrees and drizzle is just not good enough !
Three weeks into maintenance and going well, thank you. I went away this last weekend and indulged in chocolate, ice-cream, burger and chips and half a portion of cheesecake on Saturday  and scone with jam and clotted cream and home-made biscuits (very yum, thank you @Moogie :like: ) on Sunday but was still below target this morning: hurrah! Libra says my trend weight is 64.7kg (target was 65) so I'm starting June in a good place. I hope to drop a little extra weight this month as next month is likely to be one of over-indulgence due to holidays ;-)!
Nearly 6 months into maintenance here, though I have lost weight, I've balanced out between 143/145lbs.
No big hols this month, so hopefully good, solid maintenance.
I'm doing ok, 16:8 every day, lowish carbs with a few fast days here and there. I was out of routine last week and did have bread, two custard tarts, red wine and a takeaway curry amongst other treats and yesterday weighed in 2lb over target. 1lb of it had gone by this morning. I fasted today and had nothing all day until a delicious chicken salad for dinner which was unfortunately followed by ice cream. I did see 8st 12lb a few times last month and I am sure that June will see me maintaining. Daily weighing and mindful eating is the key
I'm with you! I weighed in at ten stone six and a quarter pounds yesterday, which is my regular weigh-in day. That's three quarters of a pound under target and despite having visitors over the half term holiday. I am trying to lose a little more before my holiday in just under three weeks time but if I can stay at, or near, target then that would be fine by me!
Like @Wendy Darling, daily weighing and mindful eating, seem to be the key for maintenance for me. I haven't done a strict fast for over a week as my weight has remained in the lower ranges of what I like it to be (67.1kg today). If it goes above 68.5kg by Thursday morning I'll do a proper fast but often on Thursdays I simply skip breakfast and lunch and only have dinner.

I do make porridge most mornings as the mornings are getting colder but then might have a cup of soup or some fruit for lunch, or one slice of bread with avocado and salad and no second serves of dinner. Most nights I'll have a glass of wine, or two, but only some dark chocolate or dry roasted nuts. No cheese or chips at night, or salted nuts. During the weekend I'll eat a bit more but I'm trying not to overdo it. After more than five months I think I am getting the hang of it.
I think so-I have been hovering around my target for some time, I was hoping for wriggle room, but that's not happening. I don't want to lose much more but I don't think there will be much difference to what I am doing now -5:2 and no counting on other days as this seems to leave my weight pretty stable at 9st 7lbs.
Still managing to keep at 57kgs (my ideal running weight). Doing 6:1 for health benefits but no more than that. I have my 3rd half marathon in 3 months coming up, my last race until September, so I won't be fasting the week before or after. Good luck to all you other maintainers!
I think to call what I am doing 'maintaining' is delusional at this point. I'm a shocking 4kg above goal weight after my 2.5 week work trip/holiday. I'm hoping I can get it under control quickly, but I had that hope at Xmas and it didn't really happen. Man, I really need to learn to eat like a thin person. So far, I feel like I'm failing.

On the other hand, my new clothes all still fit, and I'm monitoring things and doing something about it instead of sticking my head in the sand, so that's all good.
Checking in to say that I am the same weight, give or take a few grams, as I was this time last month so pretty good! I am still fasting for health reasons but not as stringently.
I am still eating over my TDEE on most non-fast days, with the result that I exceed my goal weight and need 5:2 to get back to goal.

I have realised that my main issue is that I use food as a reward...

This week I will be trying NOT to, prior to heading off in the caravan for 7 weeks - when fasting will be a challenge so need to have shown myself that I am able to not give in to temptation!!!
Still maintaining within the limits. Back after a 10 day holiday in Spain (no fasting, no exercise, lots of poolside 'activity') with some gain (in the order of 1 kg), but need a few more weighting sessions to be sure. Meanwhile I will have a regular fast tomorrow, so I expect to be in the lower ranges of my goal range after that.
I'm still doing ok, though it's very much "suck it and see" for me still.

I weigh daily and had a huge leap up one day, but a 16:8 and an extra 10 minutes swimming lost it again. I guess over time you get used to these variances, and as long as I don't get complacent, I hope the weight stays off for good! :victory:
